  1. On the subject of Western games, I do remember quite liking Gun. That's another one that I never finished and own on the XBOX OG. I also hate the installation process for games. The PS4 is bad about downloading and saying it "installed" a game from the disc, but you then discover that the game has to install after you boot it up. I am battling that with a game I picked up just now.
  2. For you PC peeps out there, the Humble Bundle is the whole Borderlands Saga that includes a severely discounted coupon for the Pre-Sequel.
  3. Am I the only one who loved that game? It wasn't quite Virtua Tennis, but it was a super fun game. I always found Top Spin to be better than Virtua Tennis. I actually cannot wait for the first next-gen Tennis game. That's going to be gorgeous.
  4. I have had Red Dead since it released, which makes it more embarrassing that I've never finished it. I'm about 22 hours into it according to the game, but I am sure I am more than that from getting frustrated and reverting back to a save when I thought I had to play through the game without Marston having one death on record. I will say the one area that can get me stuck in a time warp is playing Texas Hold 'Em. I could start a game with good intentions of playing a few missions or finishing off a stranger's mission and then stumble by a poker table and go "just a few hands." Three hours later and a determination to clear everyone out I am cussing at my tv.
  5. Could that be a balancing thing tied to online play? It prevents people from prolonging games by repeatedly trying to pick off a runner. That does not sound like a glitch as much as it sounds like the devs trying to insure that game speed is optimal.
  6. I think most modern sports series not named Madden have a steeper learning curve than ever. I will never be terribly great at the NBA 2k series for instance, but I still enjoy playing those sporadically. Even FIFA is one where I understand how to play it, but I can struggle at times greatly to create space and chances for myself.
  7. I think the Bucks have proved that they're capable of working a very toned-down style. I've seen some matches in New Japan of theirs that I enjoyed. One of their tag title bouts against Timesplitters immediately comes to mind. I do think their major indie (PWG, ROH) over the top spot gimmick is pretty terrible. I do find them to be amusing heels. They have a lot of the same faults that I have with a lot of guys who are either current indie workers or helped influence the current indie worker (see Tyler Black/Seth Rollins), but they at least do a good job of making me invest something in their bouts. I hope we get to one day see them work a toned down version of their style in WWE. I think they'd be really good for that tag division.
  8. I caved and picked up MLB 15. I did not play 14 enough to get a good grasp on how to play this series, as I really have not owned a baseball game since MVP 2005 prior to that. It's safe to say that I was highly irritated to be forced to play as The Giants while I waited for a game to install, and I could not make any adjustments to my team due to most of the menus being locked. I played a full game and got destroyed, and the game was not even one-third of the way installed. It was late, so I frustratingly just turned the game off and will have to try again later this week.
  9. I'll be in the same boat once they officially unveil the Halo 5 edition Xbox One. At least the new Xbox One controllers will have the headphone jack, so you can use your PS4 headset if you so choose. EDIT: In other news, I worked my way through most of the Mexico portion of Red Dead Redemption (I think I have 3 missions left (1 Luisa and 2 Reyes missions)). This is still by far my favorite game of this generation, which is why I am trying to FINALLY finish it. However, this entire Mexico portion is the total definition of stalling. It gets to the point where you just want Marston to go full Jack Bauer on Allende/DeSanta/Espinoza and Reyes. I also felt like taking out Espinoza with a sawed off shotgun was a little too quick. What happened to DeSanta? I guess he scours away.
  10. I was also going to reference that Punk/Delirious 60 minute Draw. That really was one of my favorite matches from that period. The right balance of absurd and fun, and it wasn't trying to be anything other than it was. Both guys just sharing a laugh in the ring.
  11. Forza 5 and Sunset Overdrive are $24.99 at Best Buy today only for anyone that maybe wanted those games.
  12. My fiance has been obscenely stressed lately and has had a rough couple of days. We are in the middle of planning a wedding, which we are both funding out of our own pockets and trying to navigate those waters without much guidance is just not fun and is stressful for us both. She also battles with strabismus or something similar to it, so it will cause her eye to cross and stay crossed for a few hours sometimes. It's happened to her a lot this week, and she's now wanting to cancel our wedding photographer because she's worried that her eye will be crossed during our photos. I am trying to prod her to stay the course and that everything will be fine. To make matters worse, someone tried to break into her car a few months ago which caused her door handle break off her pretty new vehicle yesterday. Man, life just has a way of trolling you at terrible times.
  13. The video from the last E3 or the one before (I can't remember) made that game seem very promising. It'd be a bummer if it turned into a mess.
  14. I played for the first time this week last night. I decided to try and run the weekly strike at 32, and we surprisingly survived. I am still not sure if the tactic the two guys I was paired with had a great strategy, as I think it just prolonged the boss fight, but we all three stayed up top and sniped, rocketed the thing, and then took out the minotaur that spawned every 2-3 minutes. Also, can you only beat any weekly once for Strange coins, or is it a case of if you beat the hardest first, you will not be able to do the others. If it's the latter, I guess I will have to play it three times from easy to hard next week. I also dropped into Crucible for the first time in awhile. The first game I played really well, but the second game was a case of dropping in early as a team was getting destroyed and having guys quit out. I never stood a chance.
  15. It's why I generally avoid Metal shows live. Because, I like to be up close for shows, but I don't feel like getting punched in the face for being up close.
  16. I've been very fortunate. I still am running an old model 360 that I bought new in 2009-10 (can't remember. It was prior to the NCAA Football that came out that year). I think it was that Christmas where they started rolling out the slimmer models you see today. I've luckily not had many issues with mine, but I play mine horizontally (Vertical set ups were part of the problem with people having theirs act up), and I really don't move the console around much either. I hope it will keep lasting.
  17. It sounds like Halo will be out before Backwards Compatibility is released. Halo comes out in October. Backwards Compatibility, I would guess will be sometime in November.
  18. Wouldn't Bowser be more like the leader of The Russian Revolution?
  19. I need to run through the trilogy before a remaster comes out. I bought the trilogy on its release date, and I am still not past the Liara's Dig Site mission on the first one. I'd be annoyed by double dipping if I didn't at least play through this trilogy.
  20. PS4 sort of does with Remote Play, but I cannot justify paying another $200 for a PSP.
  21. I am excited and scared at the same time. I loved Star Ocean 4 but holy shit that US voice acting really sucked. Star Ocean is a series I always meant to try and somehow never have played a single game in the franchise.
  22. The feedback I got from this year was very weird. I think a lot of people agreed that this was a better experience than last year, but it was very first-timer heavy and a lot younger. Also, not letting people experience walking under the arch was really dumb.
  23. I wonder what the two million was for, honestly. Unless you are building an indie title, I'd imagine it'd be hard to develop and release a first party game for a dormant IP for only $2 Million. I mean people will expect this game to be...y'know...actually good.
  24. I still am of the "leave it as it was with updated graphics" opinion. I am not sure how I feel with it having voice acting now, even. I don't care if it ages well for most. It's my favorite game of all time. I actually debated doing a clean run of it this weekend. (It's been years since I last touched it).
