  1. I know these are just reports but if some of this is true, Tony Khan is REALLY fucking up. If he blows a 75,000 attended event with terrible booking, there's no hope for him.
  2. I don't believe that for a second. I just don't. They broadcast live soccer games. And before anyone says it, I really don't think AEW would have THAT many more people watching than the U.S. Men's National Team. It's probably close enough to where the difference is whatever. Does anyone think Bleacher Report is the best way for AEW to broadcast their biggest event they've ever held?
  3. I don't listen to his podcast but apparently Zarian has 'confirmation' that both All in and All Out will be PPVs on Bleacher Report. If true, I feel that's a huge mistake. The biggest show in the history of the company should not be on fucking Bleacher Report. They should have attempted to get it on Max at least or if that's not possible then do a Live special on TNT. The event needs eyeballs. B/R has been mostly reliable for me but others have had major issues and it's just a garbage app all around.
  4. She's better in the ring probably but Jade Cargill has a star presence that very few wrestlers these days possess. To be fair, I think Skye Blue has a chance to be a star too because she already has a lot of fan support without much of a push.
  5. I didn't see Elly De la Cruz when I was watching him...
  6. I didn't think this was a good show but Ibushi coming next week and Pac being back has me HYPED for that War Games in Boston
  7. Which I did. I bought a couple of those tapes and it was the worst shit ever lol. But there was one match that I believe was quite infamous where New Jack might have tried to kill Vic Grimes? It was reckless as fuck off a scaffold. I didn't realize all the valets were also pornstars.
  8. I can't believe the opening segment went way over 30 minutes without a commercial break but you know what? It was very entertaining. I loved everything about Tribal Court. "Main Event" Jey Uso vs. Roman Reigns is going to be quite the spectacle at Ford Field.
  9. The first ever CZW match I saw was a download off a "friends" user sharing thing I think it was called Kazzaa or something. The match was Ruckus vs. somebody and I had seen plenty of ECW by that point but this match was definitely one of the craziest things I had seen. Ruckus was doing flips off shit into lightbulbs or something. I wish I remember what it was exactly.
  10. Rossy looks like he don't want to be there. Paul looks like that's the only place he'd ever want to be.
  11. One step closer to the DREAM MATCH...
  12. Mox vs. El Desperado and Willow vs. Giulia were both fun.
  13. For most of 2023 WWE television has been better than AEW television and I don't even really think it's an argument. It's also not high praise for WWE. I like The Bloodline stuff as much as anyone else and I like some of the other things they are doing too like with Gunther's run but the rest is mostly dull and inoffensive. AEW has a couple of my favorite PPV's of the year, no question about that. The television though? Mostly nonsensical. I throw on Collision last night as we're getting ready to head out and I'm watching MJF squash a jobber and then get on the microphone. Ok, whatever. Then Ethan Page comes out, you see he's from Hamilton. This is again where I say "who cares?" Ethan Page is a heel last time I checked? Why should he give a shit about what MJF is saying, I turned it off. There's too much randomness week to week with no coherent story lines and no real direction for most of the talent. The PPVs are dope though.
  14. Yes, I have to mention the WrestleMania thing. So was it Vince, Hunter and Nick Khan who said "hey...these motherfuckers have already sold 70,000 tickets, why are we running a 20K seat arena? This is stupid!"
  15. I watched this afternoon but I was in and out so I missed some matches. However, I did see The Bloodline Civil War and it was fantastic stuff. I was thinking Jey Uso might get the pin on Roman to setup a match and here we are. That was tremendous. Roman hadn't been pinned in over 3 years. Jey Uso was also the first person to pin Roman on the main roster so he could say he definitely has Roman's number if they want to go that route. The "stack 'em" near fall was really good too.. Solo telling Roman hey we still have fucking work to do! was a neat addition to the story. Good stuff here.
  16. Not yet but I think Meltzer overrated the hell out of the CM Punk vs. Kojima match. That didn't feel anywhere close to 4 stars. It was a solid match, maybe 3 1/4 at most. He rated the fatal 4 way 4 stars as well and I'd have that more around 4 1/4 it should be a full star ahead of the Punk match to me.
  17. In other news, Skip Bayless made a comment disparaging LeBron James.
  18. Not sure how many people saw the actual match on here but in Mercedes vs. Willow. Mercedes was having an issue getting her footing on the top rope, she hops down to the floor and breaks her ankle. She tries to give it a go on one leg and she can't, she can't put any weight on it at all. So, she herself calls an audible and has Willow powerbomb her and take the win. The title was quite literally designed to be Mercedes to hold and instead of forcing what was supposed to be the finish she gives it to Willow. What's the point I'm making here. Sometimes shit happens in the ring and you have to think on the fly and I think that's what popped into Bryan's mind. He said at the press conference that he knew his arm was fucked but he had to think about whether to keep it going or go to the finish. The seizure spot appears to be him stalling in the moment. I don't know if that makes it any better or not but some shit went down and the rest of the match had to be improvised.
  19. I think what some folks are missing (or maybe they aren't missing it) is with a match like Omega vs. Ospreay, a blood feud, and make no mistake it's a blood feud.. these are the types of matches that have EARNED the right to go balls to the wall and kick out of finishers and cheat death and "HULK UP" or whatever else.. If you enjoy anything about Hogan's 80's run or Macho Man vs. Ultimate Warrior or The Undertaker's streak or New Japan main event epics, this was some of all of that.. The storytelling was there. It might not be your type of story but it's the type of blood feud story that's been told for decades. They didn't "kill the business" because what they did out there IS the business... this is wrestling.
  20. I second (or 3rd) that @Matt D should go watch Ospreay vs. Omega. Nobody says you have to love it or even like it but it's going to be a match that is remembered historically and from that viewpoint if you are into reviewing wrestling then you want to be up on current events
  21. If you're talking about the Hulk Up, the crowd came unglued. It was awesome.
  22. Guys..... I didn't like the convulsions spot either but what can be said that hasn't already been said? It sucked and shouldn't have happened. I don't think anyone is going to debate anyone on it.
