  1. I hate that Diesel squashed him in 8 seconds. The Sports Education era would've been infinitely better than Diesel defending against Sid and Mabel.
  2. That was the whole point of Backlund's run in the mid-90's though. He was portrayed as a relic, a man clutching onto the past but he was still dangerous as fuck. He was there to give you some sports education
  3. They knew what they were getting into when they walked that aisle.
  4. I call bullshit on this. Naitch wouldn't break kayfabe like that. God, Ric Flair in rehab would be amazing to watch on one of those saving so and so shows that VH1 does. Seriously though if he did go to rehab, maybe it can help bring some sort of order into his life. The guy is 65 but looks about 90 and lives like he's a frat guy still in college. Who really needs order? He's old as shit and having fun. He's not hurting anyone as far as I can tell.
  5. My favorite part is the announcer only saying, "watch your language" after he said "son of a gun". I'm patiently waiting for my chance to say "fuck you, you son of a gun" to someone, anyone in my life.
  6. I'd watch that just for the promo where he calls Sting "Sunshine" and smacks the piss out of him.
  7. Just finished re-reading Race's biography and I would love to see a documentary on his career. And it would be awesome if the music that played during the selection menu screen of the dvd was IfIHadAHiFi's "Somebody Take The Damn Money". It's actually incorrectly attributed to Nada Surf.
  8. I just bought this t-shirt
  9. Here's an email I got from a guy who said Warlord was his inspiration during his fight with cancer: Subject: An inpiration during my battle with cancer I was always a POP fan and admired the Warlords strength and wrestling ability. I always felt that the Warlord was a quiet achiever. During my battle with cancer in '91 at age 16 The Warlord gave me the inspiration to confront the illness head on. I met the Barbarian in June last year at Wrestleriot in Melbourne Australia and I was shocked to learn that the Warlord had suffered his own personal set back, relating to the car accident which unfortunately has ended his wrestling I was wish him all the best for the future and I personally congrantulate him on the arrival of his child 5 months ago.
  10. I used to have a Warlord tribute page on Geocities back when I was in college in the late 90's. It was intended as a joke but I actually got a few legit emails from Warlord fans and got an email from a guy named Chasyn Rance that Warlord wrestled at a Florida Indie show. Sadly it's down now but I got the html and all that before Geocities shut down.
  11. Buy one, get one. Thanks. Is the sale over? I went to WWE's site and didn't see anything about it.
  12. Excuse my ignorance but what's a B1G1 sale?
  13. I think your forgetting the breakout hit that was The Hurricane. Helms was over huge in the late summer/fall of 2001. Now that was a lot of fun. WCW folding killed Helms momentum though, because he was massively over in WCW by the end... he was going to be a bust out star for WCW if they stayed open, and he had to start from scratch as Greg Helms in WWF. I remember he was really over as Sugar Shane Helms at the end of WCW. The Vertebreaker was over with the crowd and he had kickass theme music.
  14. Admittedly I barely remember any WWE from around this time, but what issue could these two have possibly had? It was probably a set-up for the Goldberg/Jericho match at Bad Blood that year.
  15. I can't remember if he was stiff all the time in the ring but he did smash Stevie Richards in the face and break his nose with his Polish Hammer.
  16. I'm pretty sure I'm missing some good stories about The Juice(did anyone else notice his tights say juciy?). My favorite Juvy non-wrestling moment is when he was doing commentary on Thunder during the repackage of Prince Iakea to The Artist Formerly Known as Prince Iakea and Juvi said something to the effect of "Wow, they finally gave the worst wrestler in the company something to do." I remember that too! Juvi was something else.
  17. Reigns can actually do his one move of doom correctly. Tarver's main thing was punching people and he sucked at that. Reigns' Superman Punch is also better than anything Tarver did.
  18. The vignettes and the pandering were intended from the start to turn him heel. I was probably like 10 at the time and it was obvious then. There was also some kind of hokey "vote of confidence" where you could call in and say you supported him. Almost like the RNN Updates.
  19. How about the Tommy Dreamer vs. Stevie Richards Singapore Cane match from a 2002-03ish RAW? I remember that being really awesome. Can't find it on youtube anywhere though.
  20. And he wasn't even in street fight attire. Wasn't he wearing black slacks and a black t-shirt or something like that?
  21. I completely forgot he debuted against The Gambler, one of my favorite jobbers ever. I loved that gimmick.
  22. He could always hook up with a smart guy and a swordsman and go into the kidnapping and war starting business.
  23. No love for The Crusher? I know it's not him singing but the lead singer is doing a pretty good imitation of The Crusher's voice. Do the hammerlock ya turkeynecks!
