  1. I've started playing Tapped Out and it's quite addictive. Grinding for money and XP is a son a bitch though. Doing the St. Patrick's Day quest and building the Nuclear Power Plant at the moment. Dying the rivers green for St. Patrick's Day is a nice touch. You can friend me at Cubbymark.
  2. Too little too late, but Nakamura is fantastic holding a dance party in Mexico. He's also sleazy enough to do some not so nice things to Hello Kitty.
  3. Virus is truly the biggest little man. But this is like Butler vs. Florida when Al Horford was still in school. He played so much bigger than anyone Butler could put on the floor against him. Goldust is just too big and Virus is having a tough time posting up against him. But the lucha guys that got to the Sweet 16 was quite an accomplishment even if I think Casas was better than Reigns.
  4. 2B is pretty thin this year and Cano going to Seattle is causing people to downgrade their projections for him. Top RPs are pretty deep with Kimbrel, Chapman, Jannsen. I won't make the draft as I have a Second City writing class at that time so I hope auto ranking doesn't kill me. If it does I might do what I never do and actively pursue trades.
  5. Okada has a lame clothesline as a finisher. Casas has several ways to beat you, and isn't afraid of hitting you in the balls to do it either.
  6. Arguably the easiest vote of today's matchups. Harper is on fire.
  7. This result is a reason why the Shield should have been entered collectively. Casas has been fucking awesome all year long as a mentor uncle, sneaky veteran, maestro, and any role CMLL wants him to do. The versatility is there. Reigns may get there someday, but not right now.
  8. Kenta had a job to do and that was beat Randy Orton in Round 1. Blue Panther all the way in this matchup.
  9. They should put up some of the music videos they did for the Wrestling Album records, and/or Vince McMahon doing "Stand Back" from the Slammies. Hell, you could fill plenty of dead air with other music videos or video packages for wrestlers. They might not want to pay the royalties for some artists, but others could be had cheaply enough I suppose.
  10. Junk Food Dog/Anabolic Warrior were Meltzer nicknames for guys he didn't like, whereas Meltzer is very high on Tanahashi, which is why he got into the Wrestling Observer HOF this year. To me Cena and Tanahashi are similar guys. Both have been company aces for a long time. Both have been elevated during a down period in their respective promotions and has risen as the company's profile has risen. Both have been built, pushed and protected very similarly. Both have gotten the "Superman push." Cena is a bit more polarizing than Tanahashi but they have some mannerisms that are quite annoying (poopy jokes/air guitar). Both are capable of having really good/outstanding matches with the right opponents. Since both have been on top for a long time, there is a backlash towards them( Cena Nuff). Both guys have been used to try to elevate new talents (Punk/Bryan, Okada) but the company still sees them as "the man" based on match placement in big events. So in that regard, Cena and Cenahashi are one in the same. I'm surprised both are struggling as much as they have been with their second round matchups. If that isn't an indicator of a backlash against both guys, I'm not sure what is.
  11. Virus is poised to make a Gonzaga/Butler/Wichita State run in the tournament. Things could get really interesting for CMLL's biggest little man.
  12. The first victim was Okada in all fairness. I haven't seen enough to J. Uso to really make an informed decision at the moment. I have my issues with Cenahashi as well. As for the Captain New Japan doing most of the work, is that the NJ "young lion working with a veteran tag team" formula in that the young guy gets his ass kicked like Ricky Morton and Cenahashi is the Robert Gibson with the comeback?
  13. Confidential was a good show for the time it was around.
  14. Meltzer has to be drowning in tears if he knew Ambrose beat Okada. And Cenahashi has quite the little battle with the indistinguishable J. Uso at the moment. Seems like NJPW guys are the overrated Big East/ACC teams like Pitt, Georgetown, NC State that make the NCAA tournament and struggle mightily.
  15. Virus in 2 hrs has already matched his round 1 vote total. What does this mean? Virus is invincible (until he reaches one of Bryan/Cesaro/Casas).
  16. Colon getting in the WWE HOF before Meltzer's HOF is hilarious.
  17. My vote for Masters is more out of being a contrarian, but Cenahashi (compliments to TJ Hawke) is something I just can't get into at all. For as much as Meltzer extols how good he is, when he went to Mexico he wasn't very good. A worker as good as he is claimed to be should have been able to pull something serviceable out of Dragon Rojo Jr, arguably one of the worst guys in CMLL not named Thunder or Pierroth. But he didn't. Whereas Nakamura in Mexico seemed excited, happy to be there, and worked his ass off to get Sombra over.
  18. Dr Lucha a few years ago said he felt Rush would be a guy WWE would love to get their hands on. The thought at the time seemed silly, but with his current body of work it's a very strong possibility. With the rudo shtick he's doing now and the overall success Alberto Del Rio has had, I think Rush would do very well for himself. But Virus is on another level when it comes to working the mat and doing all the little things to come across as the baddest little man in CMLL and has earned the moniker of maestro. He had an awesome lightning match with Blue Panther were it was catch as catch can and even though it ended in a draw, I left wanting to see more. Virus also has a nifty little tag match with Valiente in ChilangaMask vs the Traumas that's all kinds of fun. I'm going to have to think long and hard about who is going to get my vote.
  19. My issue with Okada's Rainmaker is I am used to big burly dudes like Stan Hansen and JBL using a lariat as a finisher. Okada is a bit too lanky for me to believe it as a finisher and the setup takes too long, even if certain guys like Machine Gun sell it like death.
  20. Volador has had an interesting year. He started the year as a rudo a lot of CMLL fans ended up cheering as a tecnico and went into the mask match with Sombra as the crowd favorite even though the CMLL fans clearly wanted Atlantis/Ultimo Guerrero and by the third fall got fans to give a shit about him even though they were still upset they didn't get the mask match they really wanted. He then had an out of nowhere tecnico turn where he ends up respecting Misticlon as a way for the CMLL office to get the fans to cheer Misticlon. Not an easy task. He was also crazy enough to get a 54 year old Negro Casas to take a Spanish Fly off the top rope in their Leyenda De Plata champions' match. The finishing sequence to the match posted above was absolutely insane. Cena's going to win, because he has so much experience dealing with crowds not taking to his act and embracing it. He's had some clunkers due to rushing from injury. Plus his Orton series was fucking boring as shit and the Royal Rumble fans had every right to shit all over it.
  21. From the illegal streams I would use to watch RAW back in the day, Renee would come on the Canadian pre-game show on The Score and she was alright even back then. I didn't realize she was only 12 days younger than and that she studied improv at the Second City in Chicago if Wikipedia is to be believed.
  22. Miz actually made the final 8 in 2011 (during his title reign) with victories over Christopher Daniels, James Storm, and Cody Rhodes. The following year in 2012 he was bounced in round 1 by Ultra Mantis Black. Mantis had a stretch of pretty good matches in 2012 in the 12 Large Summit, including a bad ass match with Fire Ant in Chicago which I was there live for.
  23. For me, it's when he got the obnoxious tattoo on his side that I really couldn't take him seriously anymore.
