  1. Former Bears GM: NFL teams covered up "hundreds" of domestic abuse incidents
  2. Candy Maldonado, the hitter.
  3. Some do, yeah. Gonzaga Men's Basketball, for example.
  4. That's exactly correct. Every season ticket agreement for every team everywhere has that exact clause in it.
  5. To embed a Youtube video, you just gotta post the URL but as http instead of https
  6. If ESPN had any credibility, integrity, or character, they'd be embarrassed to have Paul Finebaum's show on their network.
  7. Allison Janney is king-sized in just about everything she does. She's awesome in everything and ascends to awesome heights on The West Wing, of course.
  8. It's nice here. I did my student teaching at Utica Ford roughly 800 million years ago. The drive was a nightmare with M-59 under construction the entire time.
  9. LOL, "sneak attack". A dirty slide into second leads to Oquendo kneeing and kicking Clark, who then gets sucker-punched by Ozzie. Fun times all around!
  10. I ponied up $134 to watch Wings games all year. Can't wait for tonight!
  11. ? Ours was a lot whiter with less power. Talked to the media about the same amOunt though
  12. It was on the MSN front page a couple days ago, yeah.
  13. I keep trying to hate the Giants for what they did to my Tigers a couple years ago. Then I remember Jeremy Affeldt is from Spokane and is a really nice guy whose charity does a lot of great work. Grr.
  14. I need one of those shirts. XLT or XXL. Make it happen. Chop, chop. Still waiting. Let's go. Chop, chop.
  15. Good grief. Delayed by almost a year and they still botch the launch. Will anybody even remember this game by January?
  16. Learned this little tidbit in the Matt Prater to the Lions news: The Lions were actually Prater's first NFL team. He was signed as an undrafted free agent back in 2006 and brought in to lighten Jason Hanson's workload. Prater credits Hanson as "the greatest kicker I've ever seen" and with helping his career a ton during their time together. Prater had a little press interview thing today with the media and did an excellent job. He was humble, answered questions directly about everything and seemed very happy to be a Lion. I can tell you that fans are ecstatic about the signing. The Lions as a whole aren't a franchise with a lot to be excited about but Lions fans are used to seeing excellent field goal kicking. Before the David Akers experiment last year, the Lions had had two kickers in the previous 32 seasons - Eddie Murray (1980-1991) and Jason Hanson (1992-2012). So this 3 kickers in 6 weeks thing is very new to us. The team snatching defeat from the jaws of victory like last Sunday? Well, that part we're used to.
  17. I honestly can't imagine anybody else playing that role. He was awesome.
  18. Lions signed Prater. If dude stays off the road, this should be a great pickup. Pro Bowl kickers with 60+ range don't just fall in your lap every day.
  19. Sony is saying the store hasn't fully updated and that Driveclub should be free for PS+ users by 7pm PDT.
  20. Rainbow Moon is a PS3/Vita title. I'm 137 hours into it myself.
  21. It's my understanding that the hair pulling isn't illegal. The attitude is that if they want to have long hair, they have to deal with it. I'm waiting for someone to get their neck broken. Hair pulling is legal*. Long hair is considered part of the jersey. So...you can pull the hair in the same situations that you could pull a jersey, none of which involve pulling a defender when he doesn't have the ball. So the hair pull in question was absolutely 100% illegal.
  22. I sat behind/in the Notre Dame friends/family/parents section for an NCAA men's basketball tournament game in Spokane. Those people started griping with, literally, the opening tip (it apparently was thrown too straight up in the air or something) and never quit the entire game. They were vile, foul, obnoxious and just unbearable to be around. Which made Notre Dame losing all the more sweet.
  23. I commented on Anne Hathaway's acting and then it all went to Hell.
  24. I totally agree. His riff on the three day rule, tying it into Jesus and the resurrection is a classic as well.
  25. True story though. So "Sports Cliche 101" or not, it works. True story filtered through Sports Cliche 101. What you get is a good movie, not a historical transcription. They didn't take too many liberties with the truth. Herb Brooks didn't have his roster picked ahead of time as shown in the movies and they slightly altered a couple other things but, for the most part, the movie is pretty dead-on. The "again. Again. Again. Again" practice thing really happened, the speech I showed above really happened, the game (obviously) really happened, etc. It's one of the most-accurate "based on a true story" sports movies ever. Way more accurate than, say, We Are Marshall, which is also awesome.
