  1. Yeah, we've been singing his praises in the ROH thread. I need to see more of Dalton, that's for sure. As it is he might be my only reason for seeing his stuff in CHIKARA.
  2. That would be outstanding. No way it makes the actual tournament, but maybe something that could be done before/after it. Shit, is there anything stopping us from doing that now as long as it's outside the tournament?
  3. Is that the worst thing in the world? Arrive, Superman Punch, Spear, Leave. I mean it's not like we've had the champion on TV all the time the past year. From WM to now we've had what like 5-6 months total of not having a champion or not having the champion show up. Put that on a shirt and it would have sold tons more than that atrocity he's got now. Also would have been a smart play on Brock's shirt leading to WM. Good one, sir. Also, at this point I'm much more interested in the Divas tag match than the main event. And that's not meant as a knock on the Divas as much as it's a knock on the build for the title match. Never thought I'd say that, but they're actually doing a good job with the build.
  4. Foley's going to be there for sure. He has that RAINN raffle that he did, and it dealt with all kinds of stuff for the area. It'd be weird if Shawn's not there considering the Kliq. You never know though with his hunting schedule.
  5. I'm not into soccer(futbol) jerseys, but holy moly that is an amazing piece of clothing. Cesaro really should wear that for the show. Hell, he should have one with his name on it. That Outta Nowhere shirt is an interesting take on the flag, but I prefer the jersey. EDIT: On second thought that Orton shirt is outstanding. Still prefer the jersey, but can't hate on anybody getting that.
  6. Whoever said this is the chillest tournament final in a while is correct. Like many I'd be happy with either guy winning. Love Rusev, but voted Nakamura. The guy just has that something special that I would prefer over many a wrestler.
  7. The Gene Simmons interview was a fun listen. I was never a KISS fan, but hearing him and Paul sometime back I understand why people love them so much. Might not make me a fan of their music, but I get it.
  8. Three things I'll forever remember about that Rumble: 1. HHH winning it after his comeback. 2. Mr. Perfect in the final 3. 3. Hurricane trying to chokeslam HHH and Austin. Come to think of it that was a fun Rumble match.
  9. It's one thing to read about kids who like the main WWE guys like Cena and Orton. It's another entirely when reading about them liking Pentagon, Jr. and Sexy Star. Bless you guys. I can only hope when I'm a dad to have similar success.
  10. I remember I couldn't stand O'Reilly for the longest time. Didn't mind him as part of Future Shock, it was all from his teaming with Richards. I couldn't him or the music and wanted to avoid anything with him in it. Of course the main issue wasn't necessarily him, it was all Davey. Once Davey left I found myself slowly starting to like the guy. His appearance on Colt's podcast certainly helped. The teaming with Fish was the best thing that could happen to him. Now I'm actually a quasi-fan of the guy. Not to make it about me, but I told him pretty much all this at one of the after parties. He was absolutely fine with it and we chatted for a little bit. Nice guy. And Oyaji, it's good to know Kyle is so concerned for our prostates.
  11. For best commentary I want to lean toward one of the big matches that JR called. While not a great match, 'Taker/Mankind HITC was a spectacle. And JR did his damndest to make Mankind seem like the toughest guy ever. Lots of people still remember the match and JR's call, whether they still watch wrestling or not. As for Rumble 92, holy crap that was the best Rumble match in history. And Heenan was perfect in what he did. What a masterpiece. It's just unfortunate that I saw it last right before this year's Rumble which was not good.
  12. So what are the chances of all these sites correcting the sensationalist stories they ran about this? I've seen way too many articles about how Rey's move killed him or something along those lines. It's disrespectful and disgusting to blatantly do that without knowing anything. Would they even care to do it? I don't think so.
  13. Not so sure about all that, but I'm cool with Sami winning at the end of it all. Given how things go, I should spite vote for Rusev because of Sami. But it's Shinsuke fucking Nakamura. Picking between him and Rusev will be tough. Both have been great. Nak gets a slight edge because he's so damn wacky and I could watch shit tons of what he does. But Rusev had a helluva year and despite the fans being "too kewl for skool" they're getting the desired reactions. This is going to be a close call.
  14. I saw that Sami lost. Looking at the brackets I feel like Darth Vader and just want to scream "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!"
  15. Looking at this a few times, it looks like his hands/arms took the brunt of it and he barely got his forehead to make contact. It still hurts I'm sure and it's advisable to not tempt fate with these. But unless I'm way off base it doesn't seem as bad as it was when first watching it. That's not how life works and his neck definitely took the worst of that. I don't expect that level of bumping from late '90s All Japan, much less Daniel Bryan on a fucking Smackdown throw away match. There's a happy medium somewhere between William Regal assisting a guy doing a backflip and the above. My bad, I guess it was wishful thinking on my part. Looking at how the neck came down upon impact you're right. I guess I was hoping that Daniel wouldn't risk paralysis with crazy shit like that.
  16. Dalton Castle is going to be a huge star. Not sure where that will happen, but he will be. In two appearances he's established his character, has a killer entrance and is good in the ring. And it can only get better. I get that WWE would "ruin" him, but maybe NXT could work for him? Either way, I need to see more from him. I'm just so bummed I got there late and missed this live. Resting on a man-made chair was aces.
  17. Watching a couple videos on it, it's indeed tough to watch. Viewing a couple videos I saw the whole thing. The whiplash is what got him, not the 619. It's weird to think that the ropes are relatively safe, but maybe it was she speed/force he went into them? Meltzer thought the whiplash from Manik hitting the ropes did him in, but he looks gone before that. Either way it's very unsettling to watch. If I saw him like that after the 619 spot I'd just stop the match, to hell with the finish. Definitely was weird seeing that go on for another minute. There was another video that was super close up that got a lot of the aftermath. I saw it out of morbid curiosity and I regret it now, definitely wouldn't recommend watching it. Up until some CMLL shows on Azteca, I haven't really watched much lucha, especially AAA. I've certainly heard of Perro and how good he was, but never saw his stuff. I didn't have that emotional investment into him like others did. But it's so sad seeing his death happen mid-match and there's numerous videos of the incident. It's unnerving knowing he was only three years older than me. I'm not sure if he had any pre-existing conditions, but the fact a normally safe spot would kill him is so sad. I feel really bad for Rey, but he didn't know. Nobody did. It's just so, so sad. RIP, Aguayo.
  18. Yeah, it wasn't until just now I realized they're showing them on Hulu. I finally have a reason to hop back on there for some WWE goodness.
  19. Looking at this a few times, it looks like his hands/arms took the brunt of it and he barely got his forehead to make contact. It still hurts I'm sure and it's advisable to not tempt fate with these. But unless I'm way off base it doesn't seem as bad as it was when first watching it.
  20. I'm starting to get that feeling as well. Then again, Nakamura is more well-known now than he was before. I don't think it would be a complete blowout by any means. I get if somebody would vote Zayn to keep the finals close, but that shouldn't be the main reason.
  21. I got Chris Dejoseph and Tejano to favorite/RT one of my tweets praising the show. It's amazing how something simple like that makes you feel like a happy motherfucka. That Grave Consequences match is something that anybody can get into. The Day of the Dead vibe instantly draws you in, and it leads to this wild brawl with great action. Top it off with the idea the loser is taken off to meet their maker and it just led to a ridiculously fun time. I love this show, I love the match, I love the people in it, I love Dejoseph for booking it. Aw, shit, I love everything about this. I'm going to show that match to some non-wrestling fans fairly soon and I hope they like it. Need to find the entrance as well with the DotD vibe to show first.
  22. It's easy for AJ to be more interested in this feud as it seems to have a story to actually latch onto. They just might get a decent chance for this WM match. That was a damn fine gauntlet match. Harper needs to use that sumbission more often. I must have watch Bryan submit Harper at least a few times, it was so damn good. And Bryan/Ziggler was pretty damn good as well. SD gets pretty disregarded a lot of times, but it was a really fun show thanks to the gauntlet. The main event was good too
  23. Welp, that killed my bracket standings. Down to 22 now. Curse you, AJ and Okada!!!!!! The one guy above all I never expected to go through was Cavernario. I never heard of him when making my picks so that explains some things. That said, he's been fun to watch so I'm fine with him going over Rollins. I'm still going with Zayn/Rusev in the finals, but I really don't want to vote against Nakamura.
  24. Given how bad a lot of the fans were at the show, I'm stunned they'd try MCU Park again.
  25. This is backwards and wrong. Melissa McCarthy is a talented actress that allows herself to shill poor physical comedy and poop jokes for the big pay days. Think of her like modern Big Show. Rebel Wilson is multifaceted and legitimately funny with a razor sharp wit and incredible timing but, because of McCarthy's over-saturation and unwillingness to develop, is often and incorrectly pigeonholed. Think of Bam Bam Bigelow or John Tenta. Both fit a particular mold, and while one is more over with the casual audience and gets to "define" that mold, the other is better at it in most ways and has a much deeper skill set. Like Tommy Dreamer said, everything is indeed pro wrestling to us. And I really go there and see Rodney Mack vs. Texas Red, sounds like tons of fun.
