  1. Wow. Didn't they do Harry "Davey Boy Jr" Smith the same way?
  2. What's the story behind Omega and New Japan, I thought He chose AEW over working with them. Why is Twitter making fun of him?
  3. Because they believe that the Babyface looks weak if they have help. That was my main issue with Cena single handedly taking out Nexus and groups like that. MLW is alot better at intertwining feuds especially in the first few months of the reboot. I don't this AEW is going to do like WWE and just completely stop angles unless it just doesn't go over and is terribly bad. I think Cody is going to go back to each one of these angles given the situation but you don't want the crowd to forget. He has got himself in position where he has alot going on though and it's no necessarily a good thing if you keep going to something else without going back to other angles.
  4. Joe got signed 5 -10 years to late, everyone here knows it but his talking skills is top level. He's the only person that can talk people into wanting to see a match. Even when he's given the shittiest angles. I hope he won Vince over through his Commentary so we can get Brock pass out to Joe.
  5. I was digging a few taping back from Mexico. I wasn't familiar with most of the talent but I really enjoyed it. It had a different feel. I like alot of the MLW mainstays and the angles a good and consistent but your right they need new talent . Bring in the CRASH talent more.
  6. I just watched this, this is the latest episode on the ROH Website. It was my first episode in a long time and I'm convinced that I have to be a bigger Lucha fan than I realized because most of the my favorite wrestlers in Promotions I've taken the time to watch is Lucha guys from Andrade to Lucha Bros to Dragon Lee to now Rush. And I'm not familiar with their work in Mexico. I might have to take out the time to watch ROH the next time I'm off to get familiar with all the angles because I watch it with the sound off.
  7. When you have 4 VPs plus other guys with creative control you going to have different directions. Khan out right said AEW would be more sports based than WWE, in comparison to Raw and SDLive yes, but not in comparison to NXT. When NXT became what it was now back in 2013 I said to my self why follow ROH when I could watch this every week and get a more inring based serious product. I feel the same way with AEW especially from someone who works late alot. You have New Japan becoming a thing too over here. You can't become 3rd or 4th place when its comes to your inring product especially if your or going to have to filter through alot of eyerolling stuff for your audience. Between AEW and NXT live, I chose AEW because I can watch NXT later on the Network on my day off. AEW is coming to my area soon but I'd much rather go to the New Japan show instead around that time.
  8. Remember when Heyman and Bischoff was first named as head Bookers of Rawc and Smackdown, the internet was in an uproar over what HHH wasn't given head Booker role for on of the brands. He probably knew about NXT going to Cable at the time and wanted no parts of the blame for the other brands if they didn't improve. I'm sure he has as much influence and input as ever but he he knows he wont get criticism that Vince , Bischoff ,Heyman and now Pritchard gets.
  9. Finally seen Lio Rush vs Garza from a week ago, it's nice how they worked it like they had heat with each other. Seeing Miz Wrestling Wyatt as if he wasn't a creep and playing mind games with him through his family, I thought it was nice to see Rush and Garza bring it. Most heated feuds you wouldn't even expect had a backstory if you watched the matches without commentary.
  10. I don't know if it's one of the Best Ever but Oney vs Itami had a tv match where Oney got juice halfway. They had a rematch one of my favorite NXT tv matches. I really like the last tv match Charlotte vs Sasha after they got called up. Those are NXT tv matches I've enjoyed pre USA, we obviously will have tons more memorable TV matches with AEW being direct competition at them having a 2 hour program.
  11. I was watching MLW about a year ago with him in a match, my cousin who was in the room while I was watching laughed when he came out we watched he liked what he saw in the match but I don't think he took him seriously but at the same time he wasn't overly offended as if he was completely taken out of the match by his size. Comparing him to Rey does him no favors. Even when he was in ECW he had a ton of credibility with that crowd, starting in WCW he had a good reputation even if a good portion of the locker room didn't take him seriously, he was a Cruiserweight he wasn't going to be a threat to Luger or any of the main event guys. Stunt is decent in the ring but he has a reputation of having a ton of Match of the year candidates. He doesn't have to have a year of work on the level of Ospreay but their is nothing in his body of work where I can say he's really good outside of some silly spot that makes fun of his size
  12. Its crazy how, when a match is announced ahead of time for RAW or Smackdown it screams angle alert, when a match is announced ahead of time fro NXT people legit get excited expecting a great match.
  13. So they had their version of the Nexus beatdown and it fell flat, I was just talking after TLC how Vince uses beatdowns to get heat on his top heel and get his top Babyface over and how he keeps going be to the well unsuccessfully. I hope the Dark Order does get over but honestly I think it's too early to have a very Character driven tag team in the top. Its like a CHIKARA stable on mainstream TV. It will be interesting to see how they book this AEW has been good while storytelling so far but this might be too WWE for audience that expect more Mid 00s ROH
  14. I only caught the finish of the Miz vs Wyatt match but I was delighted to see they didn't do the red lighting thing last night but , I guess its only when he's not the Fiend. I hope the double back on the Fiend. Atleast when Balor was doing the Demon gimmick it didn't hinder his work in the ring, Not to say Bray was ever really good in the ring. I like the Fiery Funhouse stuff but then the bell rang and the bells and whistles
  15. Charlotte has always been rough around the edges as far as execution of moves and spots, she reminds me of Goldberg. She's insanely powerful and athletic but she is not the safest and I enjoy her matches. You add to the fact that the division in General just wants to go out there and kill it so they are very willing to work through shit especially on big events.
  16. Back in 2011, around the time when CHIKARA had those JoshiMania shows, I was laid off from my job for about a month and I decided I was going to just get familiar with the current joshi scene I was watching alot of Emi,Rio, KANA and Io just about anything I could find on Dailymotion and youtube it was fun even though Joshi wasn't what it was 15 20 years before. It seems AEWs women's division isn't clicking yet. Right now it seems WWE is using their Joshi talent good Right now, but it's hot and cold with them, I know Omega and Khan in particular are big fans of Joshi so I expected. The division to turn an weekly TV version of SHIMMER
  17. I hope they dont do Keith Lee like Ryback, where he got over on his own, they Capitalizes on his momentum, Put him in the Main Event then decided not to pull the trigger on a title win. Ryback wouldve been better off in the upper midcard until they were ready to give him the title. But Vince in particular often books himself into a corner to where he has to go with the new over or go with the current guy you've been trying to establish as the top guy
  18. I thought you were going to Say Kerry Von. You know politics is a work right?
  19. Bret always worked for the story of the match. People say that he was guilty of doing the same go to spots like he criticized Flair for , it true but he worked for the story of the match. Bret was like Dynamite in the was he would sell to. Savage had great psychology too. He was great at selling a limb. He was rare because he wasn't afraid to be vulnerable and taking beatings more than any other WWF main eventer in late 80s early 90s and he didn't do your Warrior or Hogan esq come backs
  20. Ryder and Hawkins get featured often enough and so does Crews, there are alot of guys that mainly work the C shows that can't get featured on the main shows. Some guys aren't on tv at all. Plus I dont see Vince being so quick to get rid of guys that have been willing to work the Saudi shows. Crew would be better off leaving and I definitely think he could be used better but I don't see them letting him go unless he was really unhappy. They next people they release is probably going to be someone that's been off TV or some developmental talent or lower level NXTUK talent. If it's a bigger name than its someone who has been very vocal about wanting to go
  21. How many guys in the past few years didn't have the 90 day non-Compete clause, Ambrose who else?
  22. Hunico was one of my favorite C show Wrestlers when I used to watch all the C shows before the Network came along. I had seen a little of his work in CHIKARA as Incognito so I wasn't surprised that he did well as the Sin Cara replacement. He had a few memorable moments when he took over the Sin Cara gimmick but I enjoyed him as Hunico the most. I wonder if he'll go back to that type of gimmick or as Incognito. I'm sure Harper's the most likely to go to AEW, I'd personally like for him to get a run in New Japan even though they have Hoyt and Hoyt has really come along since he's went back single but Harper is much better. Either way I'm happy he got out of WWE and I hope he gets to have a good run again. As cartoony as the Ascension is they had a really good run in NXT although I hated them being used as KENTAs first feud. Them being LOD knockoffs on the main roster wasn't going to get over at all but they managed to actually be funny in the segments they got on tv. I see them going to NWA and HoH and Shows like that. I'm surprised WWE didn't let them go earlier like before AEW became a thing but good for them now they can make more money. They aren't the Revival but I don't think they are completely useless as a team.
  23. After a almost 2 decades of 10, 15 people getting released in a span of a few days, now we're at a point where 4, 5 guys getting released is considered a mass release
  24. Yes, I found that strange too that he was being pushed very well for a few weeks than it just stopped. If he had gotten the same push literally a few weeks later when they got on USA I'd image they would've kept it going. The shirt issue is a whole nother topic and shouldn't be down played regardless of his obvious issues but I'd think if his push hadn't stopped, he might've reacted differently IDK. I hope he gets help, take time away whatever he needs. I'm sure he probably second guesses his decision to speak out about the shirt when he sees his buddies on PPV and Cable every now, that may run through his head that he could've been in that spot too. His biggest problem is reacting to people on social media. People are going to have their harsh opinions but that comes with the territory. You don't need to react to negative fans, its only going to make them go harder on you, and the fact that it bothers you is an even bigger issue he may have.
  25. Part of my believes that alot of what Punk says is things that would get him over with the Majority of internet fans. Whether he's trying to or not, I'm sure Vince and co wouldn't be happy about him bashing Hulk especially since alot of his dislike is based off the racist slurs and you have locker rooms full off Black Wrestlers that have reluctantly accepted his apology. He name dropped my probably my favorite wrestler Ospreay. I wonder if he's working everybody about him not watching Wrestling. If he is all of a sudden getting back into watching current Wrestling, I'm willing to bet at least half of it is outside of WWE.
