  1. The ELITE really is the new Kliq.... I hope he does improve creative because they have a good roster. I can take out another 1 to watch ROH if its better.
  2. Did he fully recover from the neck injury from.a few months back?
  3. I like Ricochet and all but he's not neccesarily Ron Simmons or 2 Cold Scorpio. That's like comparing Carlton Banks to 2Pac .. I'm a Black man myself I mean it in the least offensive way possible. I'm am very proud of Ricochet
  4. I think being away from Wrestling for so long helped Tony, He know he wasn't really feeling WCW those last few years on top of him doing office work for them. He been away for long enough that he's rediscovered his excitement for Wrestling. Honestly I wish JR was allowed himself just a couple of years away from Wrestling after he was let go sfrom WWE in 09. Wrestling fans give people like JR and Cornette a hard time for their old school Wrestling philosophies, I dont understand that. JR obviously still loves the business and he's willing to give his input. Even in that regard that's an asset to their lockeroom
  5. I finally finished Wrestle Kingdom, Jericho vs Tanahashi was good but it was probably the least of his New Japan matches he was too heavy with the heel tropes, but I get it. Judging from his IG after the match he seemed to really want to work Tanahashi probably vise versa. I dont know if Tanahashi went in to business for him self by initially challenging for a shot at the AEW title, but it sorta added interest going in. I wonder how need that Jericho wants to work with in New Japan. I really enjoyed Okada vs Naito too, I'm not a fan of Spitting to get heat. Unless you're going Hansen vs Vader throwing bombs it's ok. It's the only problem I had with Naito vs White too much spit in that match they should've been murdering each other. Really great shows overall and I'm excited for the next couple months. I really want to go to the Atlanta show. I don't really have the time to follow everything but I'll try to catch the important things and recommended stuff but I just love this roster right now.
  6. Jay White delivered again on night 2, Gedo's involvement in the finish was executed weak but it didn't ruin it for me. Ibushi was playing off his defeat from the previous night with clutching the wrist, that was cool. KENTA is so good as a heel, it's great to see and Goto has always been one of my favourites, Oh and I love KENTA using the LaBell lock. I haven't seen much if any of Moxleys AEW matches but the ones I have seen in NJPW are really good. He seems to be enjoying himself as I would think New Japan would be second to AEW. This match with juice was really good and different from their night 1 matches. I'll probably finish the 2 main events tomorrow. I've been watching 2 3 matches at a time of night . I don't really have 5 hours to watch it all at once plus I wont start to dose off near the last 3 like night 1.
  7. If Sid hadn't came in around the time Flair did, it wouldve had a better chance of happening. Vince say Sid as the next Hogan. Sid had to basically beg to be a heel. He promised both of them a Mania main event when they signed I believe. I'd think Vince was intending on Hulk vs Flair as much as people want to believe. Maybe if they did draw exceedingly.
  8. Yesterday watching Wrestle Kingdom 14 Night 1. I had my first "Why Benoit Why" Moment in my head during Ligers match. Maybe I closely associated them with each other in my mind than I should. When I first discovered puroresu, it was almost a decade after the '94 Super J Cup but I got to see all that and the Wild Pegasus matches and WCW matches the were both in Stampede too. I'm not a Benoit sympathizer, wouldn't knock you if you were but I just feel like he would have either been on the show or at the least tweeted out something very meaningful about Liger this weekend. I could be looking too deep into though
  9. I dosed off during the main event but the last 15 minutes was dope. I was surprised was Ibushi dominated most of what I did see. White/Naito was my MoTN, Niato is the best at selling and injury as well as working over a body part. People give GOD alot of shit for their matches but I enjoyed the FinJu match. I haven't seen to much of Finlay but Juice was cooking in the match and G.O.D. was good here too. I wish I did have to work tomorrow so I could watch night 2. This is the second Wrestle Kingdom I've got to watch in full, like last year it got me excited about the upcoming year even with the uncertainty with losing Omega. 6 months ago SHINGO was the most protected Junior on the roster, did they kinda cool him down now that he's a heavyweight?
  10. I think most of the audience they have in the states either already have New Japan World or get the PPVs on FITE. I was watching them on AXStv the first year or so. It was cool getting to watch it with English commentary and getting familiar with the modern talent plus this was in the middle of AJs run and Omega coming in. I switched cable services and I couldn't find AXSTV so I was lapsed for a few years until I got NJPW World a year and a half ago. AXS wont be a big loss for them but I do hope the make an effort to get on another network. I image There's so many other companies trying to get on a network even if it's on the level of AXS so I don't think it'll be easy unless they get a crazy amount of buzz with this US expansion.
  11. It hadn't hit me about Liger retiring until today, seeing all these legends and current era Wrestlers post about him, I feel a little emotional.
  12. Me too, It grew on me though, it looks alot more believable when it's done off the turnbuckle, I feel the same about the Spanish fly, it takes me out of a match from a standing position especially when you have guys that are the smallest that use it. Dustin's hight makes the Canadian Destroyer look more believable than some scrawny indie wrestler.
  13. The most fascinating thing about them hooking up is that he was ready to leave about a year ago. Well , at least that what was reported that he was unhappy and telling his friends they shouldn't sign with WWE. He seems so happy. I love it, he's one of the few guys that I enjoy watching on the main roster.I hope they be so quick to exploit their relationship you see how it hurt Rollins plus I still enjoy he and Zelina as an act.
  14. El Hijo del Flair ? La Sombra ???
  15. I've said since the beginning of this, I'm not usually a fan of these extra soap opera type angles especially involving real life couples breaking up on screen but atleast Lashley and Rusev get to show their personalities. Whenever they move on from this I hope they let him stay a top heel. Liv is my crush, people been complaining about her being off TV, well now is back. We'll see how this goes. I like Rusev, Lashley and Liv my concern is how they use them after the move on from this. I hope Lashley carries this well enough for Heyman to push to He vs Brock. I still want that match
  16. They've had a fun women's division surprisingly until she show up an kinda ruined it for me. We dont need anything resembling The Beautiful People or the IICONICS
  17. Edge, even if you exclude the Neck injuries
  18. If AEW was never a thing he'd probably still be in WWE as an agent. Unless they released him.I think Corgan would probably have him in the Tim Storm role. He'd kill in that environment
  19. People have been saying the same about AJ Styles that he hasn't been on the same level of workrate in the past year and a half. Why should these guys try to work like Mid 00s ROH or modern era New Japan main event style every week that well forget about after a week anyway. They are still better workers than alot of the roster plus its alot of other filters they have to deal with in WWE that they don't have to deal with prior. I was watching some of Jericho's work in New Japan recently and how much different it is from his more recent WWE runs from and inring perspective. An even better example is Ricochet, people talk about how hampered he has been lately on the main roster, we all know alot of that is the WWEs system of working on the main roster even still, it wouldn't be smart him to work a PWG or a Takeover style match even time he's on TV.
  20. He was pushed as a Monster Heel, He should've worked in Memphis after the Rock N Rolls left because Jerry Jarrett could've pushed him as a Blow Job Babyface .... Who Knew
  21. Rock , Austin the main event matches of the late 90s was heavily influenced by Mid 00s All Japan, the were the first do kicking out of your opponents finishers or using your opponents finisher and a near fall it gotten more common as time went on
  22. I agree, its pro Wrestling. If your the ELITE why not spin it like your the Babyfaces especially to your loyal fanbase. At least this expansion got New Japan to focus more on building more gaijin talent through the LA dojo and now they have one in Australia too right? They have a nice crop of young lions. They probably wouldn't have focused so much on developing guys outside of the homeland as they have been so that's a plus. They'll be fine just doing a handful of shows spread out throughout the year like they've been doing. It seemed like NJPW wasn't really into using ROH talent other than Omega. I dont see them being to interested in any IMPACT talent or any other Promotion, they already have access to Moxley and Jericho with out having to work with AEW. I could see them trying to get Scurl but that's it.
  23. For WWE it's more of a result of HHH and Shawn Michaels being hands on in NXTs inring product over the years. How many matches has HHH had on these Major Shows that's under 20 minutes. There is no excuse for Hunter to have the longest match on a card and this point. That's just his mentality. He feels he Needs 20 minutes to tell a story. Its that Harley Race/Ric Flair NWA world title match mentality he's had. He and Shawn have that same psychology in agenting these matches. Alot of these NXT Takeover main events have the same overly dramatic tropes of HHH/Taker and the Last Taker/Michaels WM matches. Alot of it too is the "Women's Evolution" sorta came about because the Women not getting enough time for their matches , what WWE doesn't realize is there's a difference between 2 to 3 minutes and 15 to 25 minutes and that not everyone knows how to work or pace themselves to go to long.
  24. It's crazy to think, just over a year ago people were reporting that he was unhappy and ready to leave. I wouldn't have blamed him if he did. He was my favorite in NXT but after his series of matches with Rey is probably my favorite Series of Television matches of the decade. A year later he's got Ric Flair calling him family. Taking Pictures with Rush with his ROH title. What a difference a Year makes. I don't watch the TV often enough but I never miss a PPV. He's my favorite wrestler in WWE right now.
  25. Its crazy New Japan is the Number 2 Promotion in the world and they are right behind WWE in their level of pettiness
