  1. However bad of a day you had today, Tigers third baseman Zach McKinstry probably had a worse one. Trailing 5-4 in the 12th, he committed an error that resulted in three runs. Then because his manager forgot that the pitching coach had already made a mound visit, and because it was the 12th inning of the first game of a double header, McKinstry wound up on the mound moments later. He proceeded to walk a batter and then serve up a three run homer. He basically was personally responsible for six runs allowed in the 12th. Detroit lost 11-5.
  2. That's completely unfair. It also had copious and obvious lifting from The King of Comedy.
  3. Yeah there was a point where he said something about how he was leaving animation to return full time to comics, but I don't know that he's ever done interiors since then.
  4. With NYX being revamped/revived that makes me wonder... Has Josh Middleton done anything except covers for Aquaman and a few other DC books in the last like ten or fifteen years?
  5. A lot of people think the only reason Kareem played twenty years and well into his forties was that his manager stole damn near all the money he made in the 70's.
  6. Seems to be working pretty well so far
  7. Yeah I have no idea what happened when the calendar flipped from February to March but it's dispiriting after spending most of the season pretty optimistic the Wings were finally moving back upwards.
  8. Well that's gonna hurt the Wings playoff chances a lot. Fucking Ovechkin.
  9. Looked a lot like yesterday. One team had the best player but the other was better pretty much from 2 on down the rotation.
  10. For a moment I wanted the DVD to end the match. But then he punched him in the fucking ear for the win and that was better.
  11. I never thought I would see a day Arkansas poached Kentucky's basketball coach. Wow.
  12. Yeah I think that's probably the truth, but I'm not sure the clock isn't making it just a little bit worse.
  13. I was rooting for NC State because of the great story and how awesome Burns is, but this is probably the right matchup overall. And on the women's side we have the undefeated top team versus the biggest star in the game, so I guess the TV network wins that one.
  14. And then the Mets won game 2 of the double-header to snap their losing streak and the Tigers unbeaten start.
  15. Which might make Cap one of the biggest test cases in a few years. Like... Would having Steve Rogers in a modern setting infringe still standing copyright flat out?
  16. The Naismith Hall has always been the easiest to get into. And I believe that means we are back to only one eligible finals MVP not in the hall.
  17. What I find fascinating about Punch Drunk Love is that it doesn't ask Sandler to be much different than normal. A bit more subdued, but he's still playing the same basic character as in most of his so-called comedies. It's just the context around him is so different that it pushes everything into a different register and results in a really special movie.
  18. I think it's just Out of Sight and a short story that I haven't read, but I'm not a Leonard expert so I might be wrong.
  19. Bit late getting to this, but the novels are literally a shared universe. Also it apparently took just an absurd amount of negotiation, red tape, etc to get Keaton in that cameo because of it being two different studios and whatnot, and Miramax having the rights to Michael Keaton as Ray Nicolette.
  20. Indeed I think most of the case law we have regarding the rolling copyright expiration of characters comes from Holmes cases.
  21. Hey if the season ended right now the Tigers would be top seed in the AL.
  22. It's fascinating (in a good way) the confluence of events that has led us to the point where the two biggest current stars in college basketball are both young women.
