Who knows if this is released here even at the art theaters, but you can catch it from Arrow Video on physical media Steppenwolf https://trailersfromhell.com/steppenwolf-2024/ That looks wild.

There is so much cool shit in that film. Lawrence Tierney as a barkeep with a baseball bat that has "The Peace Maker" written on it. A motorized wheelchair. A rocket shot into a werewolf's eye (a werewolf who looks like a bear, btw). The crazy nightmare sequence which is legit freaky. Gary Busey... well, just being Gary Busey, man! THE MAKING OF AN ACTUAL FRICKIN' SILVER BULLET. It's a perfect example of King at his lowest-brow but most fun.

Jesus Christ, he did ALL of those. Wow. The photo-realism of them is indeed a level up from even many classic Euro film posters, like the ones from this guy, my personal fave: https://bloody-disgusting.com/news/3659698/r-p-italian-horror-movie-poster-artist-enzo-sciotti-passed-away/

Boy that's some hot potato right there. People would figure it out and be piiiiiiissed.

Funny, this was one of Paul E.'s lawsuits where he got WCW to give him talent over them using the name of his event. He took Sullivan, Austin, and Sherri.

I dunno. I glanced at that fight/argument a couple times last night and it looked like a bunch of them yelling at each other, then she showed up and it was like the star cheerleader getting a spotlight. Also... I had the sound off, and frankly, I did not recognize her. Yeah. Lets just say they have too many blondes.

What's Dalton's injury? His back again? Man he was running around for a DDP length of time with that wrapping on. (Also, Dalton's Castle is a funny mistake -- he should have a segment called that. Bet he'd be a great host.) Just to postulate in a manner that might gall everyone due to the result, how about Hanger beats Moxley... only to lose to Darby in Seattle

Okay, maybe that was a little harsh, he was perfectly capable but it's just that the other guys were SO GOOD then at what they were doing that he felt a little smoked. Their talent diminished him. It wasn't fair, but it is what it is. And of course Meltzer's gotta point that out without being fair haha

FYI, Entombed's Left Hand Path turned 35 today and Motorhead's Another Perfect Day turned 41 (my age!). You know where to find 'em -- and they should be in your collection, you naughty children. Another Perfect Day is a real cult favorite with me. Excellent songwriting and WILD artwork, never got a fair shake from the fans though they ended up playing about half the songs live over the years. And "Shine" is a fucking masterpiece.

He kinda looks crosseyed, though he doesn't have pupils -
Clean bill of health from my follow-up physical yesterday. I've not always been a fan of my doctor (she kind of screwed me out of a job I was on medical leave for) but we had some good conversation this time, and my blood pressure, which I'm on two meds for, was perfect. Frankly shocked at that, and I told her. And I am indeed not even pre-diabetic (right now) so that's great. Ironically a friend of mine who started lifting and completely changed her body type, lost a ton of weight and is a lean beast now, was yesterday diagnosed as... pre-diabetic. Weird. Could be genetic. She pulled a total Jordynne Grace though. It's weird to see from a woman who was fuller-figured and frankly incredibly beautiful. Her face even changed, like plastic surgery-looking changed. I feel kinda bad posting this stuff with everyone else's bad news but I think I worry people enough here, so maybe some positivity is in order. Things can get better! I've decided to at least have a totally dry June and started on the 1st so that's positive too.

The minis match is great. I forgot how awesome those can be; the last time I saw a mini was (if Virus doesn't count), Micro Man in MLW and that's... a little bit of a different situation. All the guys here are real good and I was especially impressed with Jerrito Estrada too, being such a dick and hitting the through-the-ropes bump twice. This one was set at a blazing pace and getting to open the PPV with this for a totally foreign audience had to be something to experience for the first time. Yeah, kinda have to watch the other six-man for all the other participants. La Parka comes out in a sick Halloween skull mask with this enormous jaw. Man, this is prime Scorp, Blue Panther, the real Estrada... I have seen so little of Tito Santana too. Tito looks a little out of his depth here, probably from working New York style for so many years, and especially when you compare him to the wizards in here. Park is in full-on goofball mode but it comes off as taunting more than comedy. The fans eat it up. It's also jarring being used to fat brawling Park for so many years and going back to this. He's also got heat with Estrada, who actually seems sober! And hits the enormous Jerry Bump. Scorp is stiff and fluid, hits a brutal deadlift powerbomb. Panther does his great matwork. Parka vs. Jerry is the real story and they brawl a couple times. As far as He-Who-Cannot-Be-Named goes, well, it just reminds me of what was. Fine, fine match here. Did I mention that Chris Cruise and Mike Tenay are a killer pair on play-by-play? Because they seriously are. I didn't know shit like Panther wrestling for 16 years already, Scorp wrestling under a mask in Mexico prior, all kinds of little stuff. Anyway I'm gonna take a break and do the main in a bit.

I'm actually pretty hyped to watch Perro/Konnan because even though Konnan stinks, Perro became one of my favorite luchadors after watching the '80s set. Ugly dude, evil laugh, huge charisma, great brawling, bleeds like a stuck pig, awesome double stomp, FURRY BOOTS! He was pretty disliked in the old DVDVRs but is one of those guys like Tarzan Goto where you really wonder what our boys were smoking back then. Also need to go back and watch the minis match because Mascarita is godlike and it looked to be super hot. The Benoit match... you know what, I might just hold my nose and watch it, for the other participants.

Struck me when the lights went out in that that people could still (possibly?) live without electricity in them days. I mean, this is prior to air conditioning, really. -
They really need to do that for The Apprentice, just in order to get it out during shithead's term, and to make sure it gets out at all. I would love for it to be a sudden world premier and see how high the ceiling is that he hits. As it is, smart to do that for Mountainhead, for some of the same reasons.

I swear I've seen that, but it's been so long. I'll try and dig it up streaming. -
Just watched, off and on, most of Mountainhead, which just opened on HBO instead of a theater for some reason. Jeeeeezus wept. Let me put this little review into two forms. The movie is really fucking funny. It's about four billionaire buddies with their own pecking order and... let's say... quirks. As in they are all total sociopaths who are using AI to cripple society, and are sitting there together in one of their houses, on a mountaintop, watching the world burn on their phones. Everything that comes out of their mouths is unreal and absurd and totally deadpan. It's Jason Schwartzman and freakin' Steve Carell; Cory Michael Smith and Ramy Yousef are great but I know the first two from their earlier work very well and I just think about them in this position and know they're gonna kill it. And things just keep devolving. It's a farce, but it's so close to the bone that it's absolutely terrifying. These people can't wipe their own asses yet they're taking down the whole shebang. Now, to get a little philosophical.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijtTzP9RwXk&ab_channel=WWEVault There it is. I went and Wiki'd it and found out that Tirantes stands for Suspenders. EDIT: I don't know if they're even showing all of this. I turned it on and they were showing the apuestas, cut off the... well, cutting off of the hair (which I think was the same case with the Guerrero DVD version), then went back and showed the big guys trios and now are showing the small guys trios. I can see them not wanting to air Benoit but the main event cage match isn't very fair, even if it's bloody. BTW, it was gnarly seeing Psicosis die for your pleasure again. Rey also didn't mind totally nuking his tailbone on the floor and even Fuerza took a feet-first bump through the ropes. The apuestas was a little botchy in spots but had ENORMOUS heat. EDIT II: Yep, it's just those three matches. So here you go with a beautifully 3rd generation VHS dub of the full show! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJ_1DPGIX3I&ab_channel=WrestlingClassics100

Just saw a FB ad for the 4K of Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia. Now you will be able to smell the sweat, the whisky, and even the severed head! -
I am so sorry. Far as the HOU-HA, maybe he was a big fan of Pacino in Scent of a Woman? Personally I just want to know if any of the lyrics share his, um, political views
