    Yeah that Defoe one is an all timer closet pick. Him talking about trying to remake Onibaba, but not being able to get it right blew my mind. Dan Levy did one recently that I really enjoyed too, where he told a story about recommending The Piano Teacher to families at the Video Store, not because he'd seen it but because it sounded like an important movie.

    And it's not like Yan Xionan is a bad fighter. She just maybe got this one a little faster than maybe merit would've allowed. I've been wanting to see this fight for a while, so I'm pumped. Also Cody Garbrandt vs. Figueiredo was announced too.. Here's to hoping it's the same Cody that called him out. Could be a killer fight.

    I wonder what's going on that Gaethje isn't in the title eliminator fight? I know he was making a case for being next, but now that's definitively off the table. I know Holloway was wanting to move up and get a BMF super fight going, which I'd be all about.

    I actually had no idea who he (Hausman) was until this weekend. I was just googling the AEW card going into World's End. All I got were headlines about "ALLEGATIONS". Then I watched a bunch of people determine a terrible story invented by internet sleuths was real, based on something they read on Twitter. This is crazy to me, but so common place. And it happens here too. It's baffling that folks just stop in to drop a twitter post they think is interesting without context, or even research if its true. Like we're already smelling each other's farts in here, no need to bring outside farts into the room.

    Subscribing to Vinegar Syndrome is well worth it, if you can do the upfront. I save up each year for it. I get 75 dollars off for resubscribing. Oh, and the subscription counts towards their Club points, so not only do I instantly have somewhere between 25-30 dollars in rewards that I can use on anything, it moves me into that tier where I earn 1.5x on any other purchases through out the year. And because subscribers already get the discounted price all year long, sometimes we'll get a little special discount or coupon during big sales. It's the best, and it blows my mind that they just seem to keep growing every year.

    That's why I was surprised Whittaker called for it. Though I guess he was lobbying for Usman if Usman was going to give Middleweight a real go, and that fell through. I mean it makes sense on paper, because he's trying to find someone in a reasonable position that help him get hot again(especially with Izzy out). But it feels like such a potential waste of huge resources and time trying to get a fight with Costa.

    It was supposed to be for the UFC 284 Australia Card(Islam vs. Volk 1). It was canceled because of Costa and his weirdness. Costa claims he never agreed to the fight despite it being announced. I was a little surprised when Whittaker, who wanted to get on this card, called Costa out again this past week or so.

    In the latest Embedded they feature the face off and they actually subtitle Colby telling Leon "I was in character" twice. Meanwhile Leon is legit thinking about murder after Colby saying his dad was in hell. This isn't pro-wrestling. If Leon loses, it means he legit got beat up buy a guy who said his dad was in hell. If Cody Rhodes loses to Roman "I'm the son your Father never had" Reigns, Cody gets to be booked as the top face in the company for a year until it's time to get his revenge. Leon Edwards won't get that. He'll lose money that could go to his family. I find it baffling that guys like Colby think they "get" how the game works when it comes to promoting fights, but don't understand why another fighters would take it personally. If he wants to do the act, that's fine, free country. But don't think that because your act is a draw and makes money, that it is somehow him doing Leon Edwards a favor. EDIT: LOL They took the original down and put up a re-edited one without the lines..

    I'm pro Belal getting his title fight. Colby Covington last fought on March 5th, 2022. Beating Jorge Masvidal. In the time since that fight Belal Muhammad has beaten Vincente Luque in April '22, then undefeated Sean Brady in Oct '22, and Gilbert Fucking Burns this past May. I get that Colby sells tickets(I mean I assume he does), but if we're going by work in the cage, this weekend should've been Belal's fight, and there's no one in the division that is close.

    So ready for this Colby/Edwards fight to be over. I don't even care about the outcome(I mean I know what I'd prefer...). I just want to be on the other side of it, so some other contenders can get their shot.

    Every time Draymond does something I'm reminded of Bart and Lisa Simpson fighting. Bart says he's going to just do windmill punches with his eyes closed and if she's in the way it's her fault. So Lisa closes her eyes and just starts kicking out, and if Bart walks into it, it's his fault.

    From what I understand about the situation the unified app should be coming in the first half of next year. That was the plan once it was announced they were buying Comcast's share in Hulu. Sadly, I'm pessimistic that a better version of the app that offers customers more clarity will ever be in the cards. When HBO and Discovery became MAX they took a perfectly good interface and fucked the menus around so it's harder to get to the specific brand of content you want. I think they think we like not knowing what the fuck is going on.

    Catching up on the card avoiding spoilers.... Those two slam KOs were fucking bananas. Meisha Tate was an absolute bully in that fight. Just mean and vicious stuff. Forearm in the mouth crank nasty. Just dripping confidence. Great stuff. Clay Guida is a treasure. He has one of the most insane motors in MMA. I felt bad for Bobby Green getting done dirty by the ref. Poor Jalin Turner had to feel like every punch was a little bit closer to murder. Tsarukyan beats Dariush and celebrates now that he's in the Top 5. Then he looks at the Iron Fortress that is the Top 3 and realizes his "princess is in another castle. " Does Dustin Poirier even entertain the idea of this fight? What super fight options does he have left?

    So for the first time I now have a catalogue of all my movies that I can search through. This week I discovered Tellico which is a collector's app that pulls metadata from online databases. It can be used for different mediums - books, music, comics and movies. And it's free. Adding movies was so easy and you can generate reports from the metadata you collect from The Movie Database or IMDB. So now I can see a bar graph that tells me what year has produced the most films in collection. My Top 5 Years of Production in my Collection 5. 1967 4. 1986 3. 1974 2. 1972 1. 1989 Which was kind of surprising. According to my bar graph I have a lot of late 60's early 70's, but dip between 75 and 1983. Then I peak again for the mid 80's and early 90's, before dipping again around 1995 until 2003. That's kinda funny that both lulls start in the middle of the decade and last the same amount of time. I don't know what it means, but it's fascinating to look at. Some of the other data is skewed by box sets. For example: My Top 5 Actors are.. 5. Lon Chaney Jr. (11 movies) 4. Sonny Chiba (13) 3. Meiko Kaji (13) 2. Takashi Shimura (14) 1. Shintaro Katsu. (26) Lon Chaney would be a result of the Universal Monsters set. Sonny Chiba and Meiko Kaji are legit favorites of mine and I look for their work. I also try to collect a lot of Japanese cinema in general which is why Takashi Shimura is there. That guy is in so many great films. And Shintaro Katsu is a result of the Zatoichi Criterion Box Set. Anyway, thought I'd share some of this stuff. Having it catalogued let's me really visualize my collection so that's not just a mass on the wall.

    Bulls are so bad I'm reading articles about "Why the Bulls Can't Hit a Layup." How did we get here? Lonzo Ball should probably get retroactive MVP votes for how bad we've become after his injury.
