Arsenal vs. Red Bulls at RBA on July 26th at 5pm just announced (and yes, it's THAT Arsenal, not the one from Argentina). Season ticket holders such as myself get the game included as part of my ST's. I will be on a plane to Sarasota (visiting the manatee in my avatar) on that day, so I will be going on the secondary market and paying for my season tickets in one shot.

I went to see two games on Sunday (Columbus-NYI and Toronto-NJ) and didn't see a single good team. And I get to see the Leafs on Friday in Philly as well. Joy!
-
I think it would be fun to see City lite pull a Nick Sackoshit and keep telling their fans to wait 60-90 days for a stadium anouncement.
-
Sixers honored Scott Hartnell last night. They should sign him to a 10 day contract because he'd be better than what they have now and all the Flyers fans would come to games.
-
Maybe this game will be for him what the FA Cup match vs Forrest in 1990 was for Fergie (not likely, but I'm trying to be an optimist.).

Here's your latest example of the NBA (and sports) treating it's most valued patrons like marks: I signed up for Nets playoffs this year because first round tickets are same price as my regular season and 2nd round goes up but not to the point it's out of my budget. I noticed there was a $35 processing fee, which I assumed was the standard rip off that could be justified as covering cost of printing and mailing tickets. But this year, the Nets have a paperless entry system in the form of a card that they load the games on. When I contacted my rep, I was told that there would be no paper tickets for the playoffs and that they would be loaded onto the cards. I then asked about the $35 processing fee. That's still happening, despite no tickets being printed or mailed. I asked him to find the parties responsible for this to give me a call tomorrow, and to his credit he said he would do so. I didn't think any organization could top Dolan's MSG in terms of screwing fans, but the Nets might just have done it.

Do you realize that the Sixers probably won't win another game this season yet they will probably still have a better record than the Bucks?
-
How bad will the Sixers lose tonight? Only good thing about going to game are the Chickie and Pete's crab fries. Also Knicks announce that they will be starting a D League team in White Plains next season. Considering their home is a 45 minute train ride away I'll be going to my fair share of those games.

As a follow up, City lite's viewing party drew a total of 5 of their fans. ESC packed the place, so the pecking order is already being set. And they still have no stadium, and MLB has told the pinstriped scum they don't want them using YSv2.0. for soccer. As I've said in the past they are going to end up being an english Chivas USA.

Hearing Jiggs so happy last night made me happy. I can't remember the last time an NHL team scored 7 in a period. I recall the Danbury Trashers doing it to the Motor City Mechanics in the old UHL.

Wait until the derby a year from now in an abandoned lot in Tarrytown. WESTCHESTER TILL I DIE!

I wasn't joking about Hiroshima, I was citing it because its the biggest most devastating bombing in history. Mick Foley used the same exact metaphor in his book (only sub Baghdad for Hiroshima).
-
NYCFC set up an MLS watch party at Legends tonight. Yes, the same Legends where the ESC has it's viewing party for the NYRB game tonight. That would be like their parent club holding a watch party in a bar that was home to United supporters. I'm going to laugh when the City feeder club bombs bigger than Hiroshima next year. And I love their hashtag of #sincedayone. We've been here since day one, not these clowns.

I'm still amazed that he didn't pull a John Laurinitis and draft the other John Tavares by mistake.
-
Fair enough. But the Oilers still aren't as incompetent as WangSnow. There is a poll on an Isles fan site asking who was the worse GM: Milbury or Snow. The fact that the voting is a dead heat says all you need to know because Milbury was essentially the Vince Russo of hockey on Long Island.
-
Tavares isn't a pimple on the ass of Mario Lemieux who is probably the greatest offensive player in NHL history and Mario finished 5 of his first 6 seasons out of the playoffs back when 16 of 21 teams made it in That's more of an indictment of who was running the Pens at that time than anything. And if Tavares played for just about any organization they would be at least a playoff team. If even Crosby or Gordie Howe in his prime were with Team WangSnow they'd miss the playoffs. That's how fucked up the Isles are at this point.
-
In any other organization Snow would've been fired years ago, but with lunatic Wang he has a job for life. How can you be so incompetent that you are unable to win with Johnny Hockey?
-
Not to mention that we are supposed to want to flip Halak for more prospects. My goal is for us to have every first round pick in the 2015 draft.

Got my invoice for my Nets season tickets. They raised the price from $25 to $40 a game. I'm sending them back a note asking why they expect me to pay $40 a game when just about any non Knicks or Heat game can be had for $5-$10 on the secondary market? No way in hell I renew. I did renew my Sixers season tickets, which are $10 a game and give me a 12 month interest-free payment plan. Better yet, I have yet to fail to sell a ticket on StubHub for face value so I haven't lost a dime. And speaking of the Sixers, was at the Iverson jersey retirement. It was fantastic. STH's got a special gift, which was a replica of the banner that was raised to the rafters. In a way, I think his career was in some ways similar to Patrick Ewing in that they both carried teams that had no secondary star to a conference final, but were fated to never win a title. I'd say that Iverson is the most popular athlete in Philly sports history, because I think he is loved by everybody in a way that others weren't. And considering where the Sixers are now in the Philly sports landscape, that's quite amazing.

If this was Pegulia going to bat for Nolan then I understand it. Unless they just want to lose to get a top pick there is no reason to fire Nolan. No coach in recent memory gets more out of less than him.
-
And don't forget the 2015 1st rounder we also got. People are saying that will be deepest draft ever and we will likely have 3 picks in 1st round. Think we got good value, especialy after what some people said was Miller's depreciated value.

Saw the first night of the PWG All Star Weekend. Show was awesome, if you guys loved the early days of ROH where every show was done with the goal of being awesome than this is the promotion for you. Seriously, it's been awhile since I enjoyed a show as much as I enjoyed that one.

Oh save the drama. The fact they won one playoff series in their existence killed that team as fast as their shitty trades. That and the fact that most of the hockey beat writers and a bunch of players considered Hartford the armpit of the NHL. Punch Imlach and Harold Ballard tried their best to destroy hockey in Toronto in 1979 by dismantling a team that was close to being a contender. Don't you think the fact that they made all those shitty trades MIGHT have had something to do with them only winning the one series? Your knowledge about the Whalers comes from reporters in another country, I lived it. Trading Ron Francis was the point where fans really gave up, I saw it happen with my own eyes.
-
Name another trade that killed a team and a city. I dare you.

That reminds me of when the resident bitter on a United board posted a thread mocking Ronaldo when he wasn't doing well. About a year later when he was considered one of the top players on earth one of the forumites bumped that thread.
