Pete, did you see that Randy Levine said it was quite possible that your stadium could be outside the city of NY? I'm actually considering getting tickets if they are cheap enough (say $10-$15 a game) just to watch live soccer. I do feel uneasy giving money to their ownership over the appalling human rights record of UAE and the ruling family. As much as I hate the scousers I'd have no problem giving their ownership my money if they were in a similar situation.

In hindsight Flyers should've tanked like the Nets did to get a matchup with the Pens.

According to the documentary "Once in a Lifetime", Henry Kissinger was one of the key players in the Brazilian government giving it's blessing to Pele's move to the Cosmos.

I really think the Nets have a good chance to win the East. Think they are the one team who has what it takes to beat the Heat. Of course they have to get past Toronto first. And yes, I am praying they make the finals because if they do I'll be there.

Went to the Cosmos home opener last Sunday at Hofstra vs Atlanta Silverbacks. Wynalda is running Atlanta, and it took all the restraint in my body to not go behind their bench and heckle him unmercifully. They drew about 8,000 which is a good crowd for NASL. Stadium is a shithole, I've seen plenty of high school fields that were nicer. Cosmos won 4-0 with (of all people) ex-Metro Carlos Mendes scoring a brace. In 10 seasons with Metro he never had a goal. Offensively they are as good as an MLS team but they are shakey on defense. If they were better on that end they would be comparable to MLS quality. But if we play them in the open cup and field a reserve side they will humiliate us. I would like to think RB would realize that and field a strong side, but this is the same team who just re-hired Marc deGramppe, a guy who knows absolutely NOTHING about soccer and who fired Bruce Arena and fired Gio Savaresse and replaced him with a guy who lied on his resume.

A friend of mine reaches his goal of seeing every NHL and AHL team at least once this season tomorrow in Austin (Texas Stars are final one). Seeing all the AHL teams is very hard as there are several teams that don't come within driving distance of the metropolitan area.

Usually I use the term Hunters vs Seals for a blowout, but this is Sharks vs Seals.

There is actually a DVD set that was put out several years ago of the Flyers greatest games and that's one of them. You can find it on Amazon for about $30. Also includes the famous game vs the Red Army, which a friend of mine observes featured the birth of the trap.

You have my sympathies. Down here we have the Sharks broadcast feed, and they aren't that bad (unless you are a Kings fan).

Double OT! 20 years ago I went to my first double OT game (a 3-2 victory by the Bruins over the Devils at the Meadowlands). Still remember Devils tying it with 2 seconds left and the crowd going insane.

I stand by my original statement. Getzlaf with a busted up jaw could be absolutely massive going forward. Dallas was the better team and could push this to seven. Also, Corey Perry has the highest jerk rating in the league. I hate that dirty fuck. So many little douchey things he does that go uncalled. AND that punchable face. I demand that the league introduce Jerk Rating as a new statistic. Top guy at the end of the season wins the Ulf Sammuelson Trophy.

The only reason I could tolerate the teddy bears winning in 2011 was because they had Tim Thomas on the team (anyone who gets a Ron Paul bumper sticker from a fan and puts it on his car deserves to win the cup IMO). Them and the Rangers are the two teams I despise with every fiber of my being. Hoping the Flyers win it all but they really have no shot.Edit: and Dallas of course.

They actually moved a Miley Cyrus to a day earlier for the game 3 date. Have no idea why game 4 is 3 days later but it works for me because it's a Friday so I don't have to worry about work the next day. Amusingly, the Blues series is delayed a day due to a Miley concert as well. Actually works well for us, but Miley is fucking all our plans up. They were going to move the concert but they realized that plan wouldn't twerk.
