DB is my fave, but I still kinda hope Kofi wins and think he will, and also I'm really fucking over this angle and think it's gonna drive this match way down the card. This is really tired already.

Vince's hair plug people are outstanding, much better than whoever picks out his ties.

I don't think anything Roman does is really his fault, but I totally think he's getting booed again by the end of the summer because they're going to right back to doing what they always do with him. I also kind of think the WWE had a good idea going in that he was going to be back sooner than later, and tread water for that very reason. Also, I guess I hadn't been keeping up with things enough to know that HHH was going to be healthy for Mania, which is, well, disappointing. Dave vs. Anybody Else might have been fun.

Actually Lafayette fucking rules, has a few festivals that top almost everything in New Orleans, and the area certainly has better Cajun food (and gumbo generally, since Cajun gumbo is so much better than that tomato soup shit they give you in Nola) than anywhere on the planet. Plus it's legal to drink in the streets, and the Acadiana area is like nothing else in the US. But the CajunDome crowds have always been too kid friendly for something like a show built around NXT debuts. It's a Roman Reigns kind of wrestling culture. I'm pretty sure everyone there doesn't even give a shit about hometown hero Daniel Cormier.

Also, OF COURSE the WWE wants a top guy to build the company around, it's just that he can't really fight cancer in the middle of the ring.

Anyone shitting on Bryan/AJ crowd reaction can fuck right the fuck off. Crowd had been there since like three o'clock and were between Rumbles. And speaking of which, yeah, line of the night was during the Elias bit when Graves said, "WE'VE BEEN HERE FOUR AND A HALF HOURS AND HE'S TAKING HIS TIME" or whatever.

Haven't watched Raw since football started (watch Smackdown religiously) and haven't been around here much so wasn't sure who was over or favorited for the Rumble, but this was about as good a WWE ppv as they come. Men's Rumble was kinda shitty, but I'm down with ims winning and loved the JJ spot. Women's Rumble was perfect and the rest of the card was great.

I think Vince et. al probably still see this as a "oh yeah everybody hates those obnoxious vegans," but I do think it could turn into a babyface green anti-capitalist. I mean, I have no idea how, but I'm willing to bet Bryan is going to make it happen. You're right that it's definitely getting the traction it needs. He did have a hilarious tweet at some restaurant making a Royal Rumble burger, which I'm sure somebody posted elsewhere by now. It's funny to think of WWE as trying to cash in on AOC or something.

Naomi Klein gave Daniel Bryan a shout-out on Chapo a while back and they did a whole "DANIEL BRYAN GO ON CHAPO" thing. I watch Smackdown about an hour back with DVR, and knew I was in for something great when lefty Twitter started freaking out about DB. It was high art.

I loved this so much. DBry needs to sell me a cardigan. The Rusev Taco Bell physique was quite the promo, too. Dug the Becky/Charlotte stuff. This was a great show.

Dumbass ending, but was hoping for at least one upset and hey, Becky won so I guess it exceeded expectations.

Great show. Missed the women's over FiteTV, but found a great pirate stream and Fite just gave me a full refund. Zero complaints. Not a bad match on the card and the whole thing was a blast, from Big Dick Energy to Jerigon to Wolverine.

Becky is on fire and that whole segment ruled. They're not gonna let it play out likenkt should, but I'll just enjoy the moment. The King Booker thing was absolutely fantastic. Bryan/Miz should be more fun than this, but they're just gonna go through the playbook until Mania, I guess. Real waste because Bryan is clearly getting subdued pops because no one really believes he's around long term. Just blow this off and run through the fantasy matches. Almas stuff was cool. Still hate Lana without the accent and think it drags down the wonder that is Rusev.

Yeah hard pass on the Shield playing Wolfpac. Ugh. Also I'm fine with the idea that Finn needs time to hold a seance or whatever to summon the demon and can't just do it on the fly.

They were Taz Jr. and Roman Reign's Starter Kit, you guys really need to start listening to the commentary. Fun, if uneventful, show. Sheamus was really laying it in in the main event. With Mondays having Saul back on, football on the way, and baseball still going, I think I'm fine to just watch SD for a bit.

Joe promo was good per usual. Becky was always my favorite Horsewoman and it sucks she's probably not gonna get the title with Charlotte in the mix. Still dig Bryan/Miz. Really dumb that the Usos get to say the homophobic slur part but not the 'ass' part. It's insane how much better this is than Raw, which is as bad as it's been this decade

Corporate Ka...er...Constable Corbin is fun for sure. I enjoyed the Rousey beatdown tbh. B-Team was the best part of the show. Weird how they keep Bo and Bray away from each other for so long and then just dive in with that. Did Sasha forget to roll up the window in that car? Looked kinda silly. And did Coach seem like he was both trying harder and not catching as much shit from Graves? Alvarez must have struck a nerve.

I figure Braun cashes in the moment Reigns goes over Lesnar so that they can continue the 'Reigns is getting screwed' angle. Don't have much else to add - think everyone here kinda nailed it. Decent show other than that silly Alexa thing.

Braun/Finn put a nice high note finish on an otherwise horrible show, for sure.

Main was great, and quality Bryan beat down. Hadn't seen last week's episode, but decided to delete it and just assume we'd fast forward fewer highlights. So of course the only recap this entire show is from Mania and I get to see nothing of the Rusev win.

I'm glad they're feuding so I can fast forward through them both at once, but the good money is probably on Jinder getting cheered more than Roman. Not because of logical consistency in storylines, but because it's Roman. They'll probably have Jinder beat up a lot of lesser faces to keep getting any negative reactions. I'm all about the B Team, and agree that it's about a be a Breezango-esque hot act for a bit (although Bo would have made such a good Woken Warrior with those facial expressions of his). Braun's "GET UP, YOU'RE FINE!" to Finn was great, too.
