  1. He was the head of Geritol in Quiz Show.
  2. Wouldn't every venue be booked with Olympic events?
  3. Was Mad Dog and Glory a comedy, I don't remember laughing when I saw it.
  4. College Football is full of blindly loyal weirdos so can see this goof being a G. Gordan Liddy type and be willing to take the fall. Forgetting to "scout" TCU was also a drastic mistake on their part.
  5. Quaid pretty much used the same accent in Everybody's All-American, which I remember being so bad it was funny.
  6. The Sun Belt's bowl tie in's outside of the New Orleans Bowl are pretty grim, there'a a chance they could end up going to a better bowl if one of the bigger conferences like the ACC don't have enough eligible teams.
  7. Lance was a gimmick cousin of the Von Erich's, can't remember if they ever said he was Waldo Von Erich's son or just implied it. William Vaughn who played Lance Von Erich was some sort of star high school athlete from the Dallas area, fans who knew who he was would yell out his real name at matches. It's weird they didn't call him Will or Bill Von Erich, most people in the Dallas Metroplex knew Von Erich was a gimmick last name and that Fritz Von Erich was actually Jack Adkisson former SMU football player and local raconteur, there might have been less eye rolling by fans when he debuted and less blow black when he left World Class.
  8. The Rams didn't get robbed, yesterday was the first game in years where the announcers never mentioned the yellow 1st down line wasn't exact, so being few inches short of the yellow line doesn't mean Pickett didn't get the 1st down. The game should have been over after the pass interference penalty but the refs needed to keep things interesting so they called a bogus "unsportsmanlike conduct" penalty on the Steelers. McVay should have saved a time out, it blows my mind that coaches don't keep one in their back pocket in the second half for a scenario like this. Even if the Rams got the ball back they would have had to deal with Watt and Highsmith being unleashed on Stafford, I doubt they get more than one 1st down, let alone a touchdown, PAT(their kicker has the yips) or 2 point conversion. How much money did Darryl Johnston have on the Rams? He sounded like someone who bet money he didn't have on the Rams and is going to have his fingers broken later that night. Pickett was 11/12 for 152 yards in the second half, kid keeps getting better every game. Also, the Stillers are 11-4 in their last 15 games, a lot of those wins were ugly but they're still wins.
  9. Just saw that The Last Boy Scout was released in December of 1991, that's a weird time of year for a hyper testosterone action flick that borders satire. Also, I wonder how much Hudson Hawk bombing had people passing on another Bruce Willis flick. Last Boy Scout is ok but when it comes to flawed 1991 bonkers action movies give me Harley Davidson & The Marlboro Man.
  10. Did Hart actually write the knockoff themes? A lot of the music library companies had knock off tunes, they'd kind of hint what they were knocking off in the descriptions.
  11. Any jacket match should have a jacket that looks like this one.
  12. WCW used music from all the stock music companies that were around back then, a lot those licenses would have just been for just television, ppv, and home video releases.
  13. The WWF missed the boat by not having post IC title run Honky bring on Master Fuji as a Sensei and doing an undeserved black belt karate gimmick..
  14. They haven’t played anyone of note and the teams that jumped them have.
  15. With the schedule they have played that shouldn’t be surprising.
  16. He would have needed to be on another team in his “prime”, the Bears were always going to be running team with a game manager QB in that era.
  17. The Bears haven't had a franchise QB since Sid Luckman and he retired in 1949.
  18. I think ASCAP finally woke up about licensing music for TV around that time, besides wrestling tons of local and syndicated sports shows used popular music and most likely weren't paying.
  19. Steve Garvey has entered the race to be the junior Senator from the State of California, so he’ll be saying a lot of stupid things over the next year. https://www.latimes.com/politics/story/2023-10-10/dodgers-star-steve-garvey-senate-race-feinstein-schiff-porter-lee
  20. That's the one, its somewhat tangled in my mind with the MTV True Life and the glimpses into the indie scene in Beyond the Mat.
  21. Looney Lane was in one of those late 90’s/early 2000’s tv docs on pro wrestling, can’t remember which one though.
  22. They were all in the cartel together, none of them were rivals.
  23. The possibility of a 10-8 or 11-10 final score in Pittsburgh just ended, now it’s just a boring 17-10 final!!
