  1. The opening segment was...yeah, I don't know about that. Well, it was different. Now they can't bring Regal back on tv, at least until Mox takes a break, or Mox is required to end him. Hager and the bucket hat makes me smirk. It will be many months before I can wear mine, though. What is that, purple? Mine is navy blue. House of Black is back! Great! Now have them actually wrestle. Often. Against interesting, non-preliminary opponents. That security guy is DEAD. Ok, at least I'm not sick of the best of seven series by the match two. The way Penta used the hammer, and the way he looked while doing it was hilarious. So Wardlow is angry. Go have another decent breakfast, maybe you'll feel better. By the way things are going with Starks, he'll be in a full body-cast or wrapped up like a mummy after the MJF match at Winter is Coming. 3-way women's match was a good way to feature a bunch of people at once and since it was a good match that got time, it wasn't a filler. Is Britt already trying to upstage Hayter, despite doing it in a positive and supportive manner? Let the lady talk, she's the champ! Lest you want to be eating a ripcord-lariat a few months down the road... The Acclaimed's next challengers are Jarrett & Lethal?!?! Not Sting and Darby, for example? Swerve and Lee broke up and Daddy Ass can scissor again, so there is some justice in the world, though. FTR vs Top Flight should be interesting, too. Loved the main event. Bleeding from the chest was top notch. And Final Battle is leading to a rematch with Claudio. Bit obvious, that. Anyway, Minoru Suzuki has probably faced Ishii in NJPW. I assume they chopped each other. Does anyone know?
  2. Yeah, I mean I've only watched it once from start to finish and missed the whole middle portion on the first go-around, but I felt it was a bit of a mess. With Punk failing to properly perform the Punk-shot lariat TWICE, being the low point, other than the finish. Was hoping for Page retaining, but seeing that it was very unlikely.
  3. They finally like him now? Man, what a bunch of bandwaggon jumpers!
  4. It's kinda like you saying "can I get a couple of drinks over here" and they bring out a couple of trays full of shots. You look at what's coming and think "there's just NO way this can end well..."
  5. There would be chops, and then some.
  6. This is what you get when you make The Elite miss two months of TV (on top of all the months Kenny missed before that for injury rehab). The biggest fear I have for this is that something inside Fenix goes pop or snap or rippp again, before they finish the series. Death Triangle will live by the hammer and eventually die by the hammer. What if there will end up being only like 5 matches (4-1)? You would imagine even this group would have trouble upping the ante until the match #7, without someone dying or getting crippled. Nonetheless, I'm looking forward to this. A bit horrified, sure, but definitely up for it.
  7. I knew a Balzon Michin, but that was in the late 90's...
  8. Yeah, this has been known to happen at times. Keep breathing, it will pass. No harm done.
  9. Boy, does it ever suck, when you go out on Saturday night, only drink water and end up getting food poisoning off some fast food and have to suffer condition similar to hang over, anyway! Edit. I guess it wasn't food poisoning, but a short stomach flu instead, and apparently, I got off lightly. Wife's bout was just as short, but WAY more violent. And that sucks even more. It seemed like something that would not spread. Mildest stomach flu I can recall having, but still bad enough to ruin two peoples' week.
  10. Yeah, the ROH 4-way and the TNT-title 3-way were both good stuff as well. Saraya vs Britt was ok, I guess. Nyla vs Jade was one of the better Jade mathes I've seen. On a side note, I was convinced by my wife to buy a hat similar to what Hager has, albeit a different color, and I'll be damned, I like it too!
  11. I guess I didn't pay enough attention to the promo, then. I did hear him thanking everyone who came and all the AJPW legends including Akiyama, then for once, peacefully ending the promo when told he had to go. Well, this WOULD be a very good way to jump-start his quest to the top. He can't be questioning if he's good enough after this. He must have proved it to himself here!
  12. Let's just give away Kingston vs Akiyama for free! I didn't even know it was going to happen, until the graphics were up! I hope this doesn't mean that Eddie will never win another match in AEW, after realising his dream inside the ring! I was getting over a mild case of apparent food poisoning, and slept through a bunch of matches, but the first two matches made this a worthy purchase. Need to rewatch later. Last three matches were a nice bonus making this one hell of a PPV. The Sting tag match was also super entertaining, as usual! Jarrett was in tremendeous shape!
  13. Ok, Tuesday was just a huge bunch of lat pull downs with resistance bands. Today it was trapbar. Standing on the higher platform, I did 5x229 and 5x339 and then 4x444 off the floor without Versas. Then 1x515 off the floor and then 3 singles with 568 off of 3cm platforms. Then 3x515 off those as well. After those it was shrug-city with 429, 295, 229 and less. I doubt I'll go tomorrow. [Spoiler Alert] Yeah, I didn't go, but with exactly 5h of sleep last night, it would have been rather pointless, anyway! I'll go for 451 lbs without Versas next week. I know I have failed that before. Damn, I was so stuck just lifting that particular weight for maybe two years, because it was the maximum the trapbar would hold, before our ingenuity kicked in (that and well, we got more big weights at the gym, too)! Pretty soon that will be the top set for shrugs, not deadlift. Now I'll hit the sauna and begin the carb re-fill/loading shortly thereafter. This week was not the best, but still better than I expected.
  14. And then be all shocked, like "I was so sure it would go the other way!" , like Diane on Bojack Horseman, when they decided to outlaw guns altogether, since the alternative was to let all women start carrying guns so they can feel safe (which was what they wanted). If Elon hopes to bully people into some "super producive-mode" and he'll probably be in for a rude awakening.
  15. The week started well enough, as my wife had a couple of extra days off and wanted me to join her for her morning jog/run. The weather was fine, but I can't recall when was the last time I've actually went for a run this late in the year. We weren't going fast, but we went for a full hour. My quads were toast afterwards. I tried my best to stretch them out at work and rode home extra leasurely, but they are still stiff as hell. Luckily, the workout was bench and curls, so legs weren't a real issue there. The weekend's carb-loading did help, as the attempted 8x4x275 was much closer to reality than many previous attempts. Each set had at least the first one actually clean and all the way down to the chest, but yes, there were a shitload of partials in there too. Warm up was 5x132, 3x220, 3x242, 2x253, 2x264. After the heavy sets I did a decidedly ugly 4x264 then slightly better 4x242, 10x220 and 26x132. Between sets, I did EZ bar curls with 87 lbs, sets of 12, for about 6 sets, after that it was light side delt work between each bench set. I should go for something light today as well, but the only other heavy day will be Thursday, so that must be trapbar, as I need to clear the 200kg mark without using the Versa Grips this week. Wednesday and Friday will most likely be off days.
  16. Wow, at least some former NWA World Heavyweight Champions must be spinning in their graves about now... but sadly, not for the reasons they ought to be.
  17. TK said he was working on it earlier in the year, and he actually was able to come through for Eddie! That's great!
  18. I'm medium-sized, at the very most, but I will take that as a compliment, thank you!
  19. There's a couple of skits on the Iliza Shlesinger Show on these guys!
  20. Ok, I'm very glad Cage is advancing, and I was impressed by Martin's double bicep pose. Surprisingly nice arms on him. Jungle Boy needs revenge. Steel cage sounds like it is going to be very bad for his health, but Christian Cage isn't going to climb, erm, cage with one arm, right? Espesially with the left one, right? While I'm all in on Bandido, can what happened there with Rush be considered... a high-way robbery? OC having a mic on stand-by just to mess with Mark Henry is good stuff. Another active title defence, even if it came at the cost of one dead Danhausen. I can't believe the baddies didn't use that opportunity to steal the TBS title back for Jade. Not super competent. So, the House of Black is coming back, but this time they are EVIL? Where the hell are you guys gonna go from here? ...oh, that's exactly where.
  21. This is very true. If I'm healthy enough to go in the first place, it's very seldom I feel like I really shouldn't have bothered, after the workout is done!
  22. I'm fully aware. I'm not trying to claim he's not on every substance known to mankind. I'm just saying it's working like a charm.
  23. The (even more) funny thing about this is that if you'd actually put Billy Gunn's current photo up, it would be way more jacked than the younger photo. These people have all aged very gracefully, but Billy is indeed on the R-Truth scale, even in this crew!
  24. So yeah, the rest of my week. After taking Monday off, I went for 3 rounds of Pull up, Dip, Reverse Shrug-combo, but only with 55lbs of extra weight. After those, it was a whole bunch of resistance band work in the form of lat pull-downs and chest flies. On Wednesday, my thoughts were "the only reasonable options for this evening are either trapbar or another day off", so yes, I did a bunch of calves. So trapbar was on Thursday. No standing on the platform this week, either. Started with 12x140, 6x196, 5x306, 5x427 and 3x438 without Versas. Thank you, magnesium, you magnificent bastard! Next week, I shall pass the 200kg (444 lbs would be the next step) mark before putting the Versas on. Then I did 1x526 off the floor and then the same on three separate times off 3cm platforms. Then it was shrug-time. Some 20 reps with 438, then more with 306, 218 and 196. I was trying to eat more this week, but it so rough at work at the moment that the weight keeps going slowly down during the week, so I try to do what I can to recoup during the weekend, which is now, thankfully.
