  1. In AEW's short history they have on occasion produced some near perfect television. Every other week, save for maybe one or four that I'm forgetting, they've had good to great segments and some shitty ones. I don't quite see this Fall/Winter 2023 set of TV as any worse. Yeah, they were hotter when Danielson and Punk debuted. I don't get this ignorant idea that AEW is immune to ups and downs. What Pro Wrestling company, or any company for that matter, hasn't had ups and downs? I'd be curious to know what weekly Wrestling TV show in the past 20 or so years has been more consistent or better than AEW Dynamite? That's not to say there aren't issues with the product. I'm solidly with the too many belts talk. There's also an ongoing issue with Referees being made to look ridiculous, and far too many non-managers at ringside. I also find the phasing in/out of the roster week to week a bit problematic (I sense the live gates have suffered more for this reason than discussed). Especially without Video packages and promos to keep up with the stories/characters, but it's something I'm seeing being worked on (that's all I ask). I also find the hiatus/injured wrestler disappearances very irritating. And unnecessary. But I recall Meltzer on WOR talking about injuries not being legally allowed to be discussed. I'm not sure I got that quite right or how that works, but it seems like the secrecy could be better limited or worked around. All this said, I don't find these qualms enough to hate on a product I find consistently fun. It's par for the course. As far as AEW being number 2, what the fuck do you expect? WWE was number 1 with an outdated senile booker presenting the shittiest wrestling possible. In general, that company, the well established McDonalds/Marvel/Coca-Cola of the industry, clearly appeals to a far wider fanbase. I'm happy AEW doesn't. I want blood and workrate and unscripted promos. If they don't always work out, but the batting average remains high, oh fucking well!? I'm not on top of all the sales figures, nor do the bellyachers seem to be, but from a distance the profits look pretty strong. And the Billionaire responsible for the overhead is happy. My overall opinion remains: AEDUB still rules the fucking world.
  2. Might be worth watching the show before posting. I’m not sure there’s been a single episode that has had only one women’s match. Set your aim on WBD not the bookerman.
  3. Re: Zero Hour Valkyrie v Allure was alright. I sometimes wish Taya's furry boots made her more of a classic Bruiser. Von Erichs v Outrunners was not particularly good. The Von Erichs looked rusty or sloppy or both. Still, kinda fun watching the Outrunners bump their asses off. Bryan Keith v Jack Cartwheel was excellent. I like this booking choice. Local boy makes good, and a fun local story. Keith sure does like a high wasted pant. Garcia v Blake Christian was hurt by the babyface v babyface dynamic. This didn't look quite like Blake's A game. Re: Final Battle Vikingo v Taurus was fun. Vikingo's set-ups were lengthier than usual, but didn't take me entirely out. I always love Black Taurus. I sometimes wish I could make some small tweaks to his presentation. Here's hoping he sticks around. The Top Rope Gorilla Slam! Mogul Embassy v TMDK was 'perfectly fine'. I sense the NJPW tour helped Kaun/Toa. I thought Bad Dude Tito looked good there. Tony Nese v Ethan Page had numerous boneheaded booking choices. What was the point of handcuffing Sterling and then having him interfere constantly? Er having Mark Henry lumber out and then just leave? Sorta like the Men of the Year reunion, but not sure about them as babyfaces. Ethan Page is a terrible babyface. He comes off as whiny and fake (see that ridiculous promo on ROHTV this week). Perfect traits for his far superior heel act. Underrated Nese wrestled a solid match. There was a great effort and lots of blood and I wanted to like this, but it fell short for me. I skipped Nyla v Vertvixen, but glad to see Nyla in ROH. I had a tough time with the Survival of the Fittest. All the touchstones of all the scrambles I hate. Die Multi-man matches, die! I like all these guys, but it just didn't come together until Fletcher v Kommander. I really dug those two pairing off to finish things out. Fletcher threw too much at him, but fun nonetheless. Of all the poor choices on this show, none worse than that awful looking red paint Fletcher was sporting. I'm just happy it wasn't a tattoo. For a moment, it reminded me of the night the Nightmare Factory neck tattoo was revealed. And all the disappointment that came with it. I also enjoyed Yuta v Lawlor. Love to see more of Filthy in ROH. He'd be a good hand. I also liked seeing Hook down here. For fuck sake, get him some reps on Honor Club. How bizarre to have this inexperienced performer so in need of reps and he's yet to perform on a single Honorclub show. Loved Yuta's antics post match. Shane Taylor v Keith Lee didn't quite MEAT my expectations, but it had its moments. Some fun spots. I always get the sense that Keith Lee is not in any kind of shape to be pushed up the card. I'd like to be wrong about that. Bryan Keith promo was fun. OC v Keith sounds like a party. BCC v FTR/Briscoe was kinda hit and miss for me. Things got clumsy at points - like putting Cash in a submission with barbed wire, and then not having him saved nor submitted, and then just quietly dropping the hold. But when this was on it was fucking on. 6 of the best. I'm with Dax on phone zombies, but the optics were questionable. Anthony Henry v Kingston felt like a poor addition. I like Henry, but this felt like a waste of time on a 5 fucking hour show. I don't like how the ROH World Title was repped on this show. I don't particularly like where that title is going either. Athena v Billie Starks was, of course, excellent. Definitely hurt by the babyface v babyface dynamic. I'm not sure it needed more time to build to but @MattD is right on this being a poor location for the match. Still, fine effort and excellent result. A strong main event. More than enough high points to recommend the show.
  4. Total pro. Complete nut. Beautiful pro wrestler. Best wishes to 'The Cleaner' Kenny Omega.
  5. The cure for the AEW Winter Blues is 'Tape Delay'. Alotta fun was had over Toast and Coffee this morning. I could care less about the 'Devil', but I was very much into Hangman and Joe squaring off. I'm a high voter on 'Adam!' era Roddy, and loved him here leading into Hangman v Roddy. So fucking excellent! I didn't love the weak Buckeye finisher, but better than seeing Roddy get head dropped. I like the decision to keep Hangman strong. Brody King v Andrade follows and did not derail the fun. True slobberknocker! One would imagine Andrade being WWE bound, but this booking suggests maybe not? Von Erichs/Orange promo was a little bit shitty, but not long enough to induce irritation. We didn't see enough of Renee this evening. Jericho/Omega/Bill/Starks was one of the worst Jericho Townhalls yet. I sense it was bad enough that Jericho won't repeat it. I like Ricky Starks, but 'Cool Heel' persona's are often problematic. Tho, I do wish he'd leaned into it harder here. Maybe it's the frothy oat milk in my coffee talking, but this to me was bad enough to be funny. I very much enjoyed Ruby Soho v Riho. I sometimes struggle with Ruby, but I liked her here in an enhancement role. Riho is so underrated by so many. It seems so clear she has a great mind for pro wrestling. Rush v Jay Lethal was kinda perfect. Where it was placed on the show and in the tournament. Rush didn't exactly eat him up, but it was decisive and points him towards Mox post CC. Lethal is good at the job. Jay White v Mark Briscoe continues the golden streak of Mark Briscoe matches. He's been as good as anybody, Danielson included, in this tournament. They aren't doing him dirty. His is a redemption story, and will no doubt have it's day. He clearly has a strong connection with the audience. I also like the decision to keep Jay White strong. He's only some fine tuning with his mic game away from being back at the top of the card. Mox v Swerve was just wonderful. I love the feeling that this Dallas crowd gave off with their appreciation of these two gifted performers. And they did not disappoint. It seems pretty clear Swerve's getting that 'cheap win' back in the league finals. I didn't hate the closing beatdown of Hangman. I must admit my attention is still on trying to figure out who these masked guys are. I think I see Wardy in there. I find it diffiuclt to complain with so much great wrestling on these shows. I urge low voters on this episode to try 'Tape Delay'. Minus one segment, I loved this episode.
  6. This is an excellent line-up. I'm into Ruby v Riho! I'll wait to see what this looks like, but I'm kinda hoping for a feud. Hangman v Roddy has the potential to be a 2023 dark horse classic. Huge fan of both these athletes. We got the warm-up for King v Andrade here in Toronto during Forbidden door weekend. It was a very solid affair. This will no doubt be better. A Jericho townhall is a suspect segment. The Von Erichs, hmmm. Surely somebody's playing the 'Birds tonight? Rush v Lethal I expect to prove again what a great hand Jay is. Briscoe v White is a gahddamn dream match too. Mox v Swerve 'is a Main Event in any arena around the world, Jesse'.
  7. Ha, what, how does Dressed to Kill qualify as Diet Silence of the Lambs? Other than where the films might be filed for genre, how do these two films compare with one being the superior of a similar final draft? The tone, the style, they seem like polar opposites to me. Wait, lack of award recognition is a reason to denounce a film? Obviously there's a thoughtful conversation concerning our killer's identity that could and has been had, and fair enough to anyone who finds that element too difficult to look passed. I'm with the Blowout is my favorite crowd, but Dressed to Kill is pretty fucking excellent too. Anyone else love that Baumbach/Jake Paltrow 'DePalma' doc? Or the excellent episode of 'Video Archives' on this and the American Giallos? I wouldn't say DePalma's a favorite filmmaker of mine, but that doc made me a lot more interested or curious.
  8. I love the Opening Promo Montage, but a mixed bag on the quick promos this week. 'One of the biggest Canadian showdowns in history' says Ethan Page. Hmmm? One of the better 'Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting' opening vids. Kingston v Castagnoli was so good. That's how you do a worthwhile flash pin finish. I like that they keep flirting with a draw, but have yet to do one. Moxley Promo was solid. Hook/Yuta promo was fine. Yuta's come along on the mic, but let's get him a breathing coach. Willow v Mercedes was a fun TV bout. Mercedes is such a good hard nosed heel. Weak finish there, but it's nice to see Willow get back on the winning track. Judging by the recent crowds, she's clearly been hurt by the lackadaisical booking. The Stat save coming from the other side, and with music, was so illogical. Let me get this straight, she was hanging out on the other side of the arena just waiting, knowing the heels would attack? If so why did it take her so long? Curious how she signaled to the truck to play her music? Hager/Menard/Parker promo was good. Filtering in some arena sound under these pre-tapes in post might be something to consider. Swerve promo was fine if a bit silly. A good writer to help with bullet points would be a real help. Wardlow v Mack was pretty good until the rotten finish. The ref stoppage gimmick, as in this case (and most), always comes off so awkward. Why bother? Just put a foot on the chest and count the three for 'crying out loud'. Complaints aside, I like Wardy working competitive squashes as opposed to quick meaningless local talent squashes. He does some impressive stuff made all the more impressive against a big Mack truck like Willie. Kenny Omega v Ethan Page was a terrific TV bout. Kenny is poetry in motion. Page's cut off cutter was excellent. Page looked good here. I was excited for this match, but it's a bit of a headscratcher while selling Page v Nese on the ROHPPV as something significant. Nice Big Boot from Big Bill. CJ Perry/Miro promo was ridiculous and tone deaf. Kommander/Penta v Mendard/Parker was pretty solid. Nice reaction for the Quebecers. Keith Lee/Shane Taylor video was alright. Very interested to see how that one plays out. Danielson v Andrade was nasty fun. Andrade's fall fashions are hilariously awful. Kind of an 'American Males' look there. Not a big fan of the finish. I really like Andrade's work, but I don't see much of a point having a WWE bound midcarder going over Danielson. Looking forward to Claudio v Andrade. Might be of assistance to the audience to announce some matches for next week, no? Still, alotta fun was had over the course of this 120 minutes.
  9. Jamie Hayter, Oui! Oui! Deeb, Oui, Oui! Might be a bit quick on New Mother Tay, no? I'm happy Rosa's recovered, but have little desire to see her wrestle again. Even the Greenhornes have surpassed her sloppy level of play. Stoked for Hayter and Deeb. Also stoked for the debut of Mariah May.
  10. Very true. I have a strong feeling Max Caster has a money-making singles run that could eclipse his more in-ring-skilled partner. Caster's improved so much, and I don't sense his progression has been terribly stunted by the more recent lackluster fare. Excellent CB4 reference. They've kinda always been up and down. Just looking over at Cagematch for what they were doing around that Sting/Darby match back in early 2022. Mostly squashes and warm-ups. The association and fallout with the Anus Boys was fun. The aforementioned All Out match with Swerve/Keith Lee was a high point. Their runs with Gold have been underwhelming. Too many challengers lacking enough crediblity. Or in some cases, challengers under the level of the true title threats. Often a rinse-repeat issue with a lot of the title holders whom aren't properly and Freshly Squeezed.
  11. "I call you when I need you, my heart's on fire You come to me, come to me wild and wild When you come to me Give me everything I need Give me a lifetime of promises and a world of dreams Speak a language of love like you know what it means MMm, and it can't be wrong Take my heart and make it strong, baby You're simply the best Better than all the rest Better than anyone Anyone I've ever met I'm stuck on your heart I hang on every word you say Tear us apart Baby, I would rather be dead"
  12. OC v Angelico was a solid opener. I'd love a new coat of paint on Angelico. Drop the neon and the goofy, ratchet up the painful human knots. Danny House'n and Serp did well with their minutes there too. Riccaboni selling OC's pockets as providing power as opposed to the house brand sell of it being a manipulation tactic is a great example of the flawed (and irritating) portion of Ian's generally favourable game. Abadon v Trish Adora was a perfectly fine competitive enhancement bout. How does Julia v Abadon in a title match reflect the Division for you? Well, I guess it's better than having to endure more Jade Cargill Title matches. The TNT title sure has a rich shitty history. Hobbs/Takeshita v Sydal/Daniels was alright. I sometimes wonder if Hobbs wrestling mainly squashes has hindered his ability to know what to do inbetween moves. He sometimes seems lost in there with his mean mug. And the powerslam finish is nowhere near as devastating as it must look on the booking sheet. Takeshita looked good here, and Sydal/Daniels are an excellent enhancement team. Don is a treat on commentary, and I like the idea of 'The Australian Psycho' Kyle Fletcher being some sort of take on Patrick Bateman. Top Flight promo was fine. Dante seems like he's been working on his promo game over his recovery. He's been sounding confident. Looking forward to the bout v Penta's crew. Bryan Danielson v Daniel Garcia was fucking awesome. No surprise. 'Oui, Oui!' Goddamn that was hot down the stretch. Loved the placement of the Dance just prior to getting his head knocked off. Dickhead Danielson spitting on Daniel after is an odd choice for a babyface, but Bryan has earned the right do whatever the fuck he wants to. That's a strong contender for best CC match thus far. Tho, Ed Kingston's got a nice catalog of matches started over there in the Blue League. If not Kingston or Danielson, Mark Briscoe's been kinda the MVP for me. Tho, I guess there's a case for just about everybody in this tournament. Yeah, even Jay Lethal.
  13. I haven't looked back in on that Swerve/Lee bout, but Assy was already in the fold and a big part of their presentation. It was during that bout that the 'Oh Scissor Me Daddy' choir began. Not to take away from the solid work they all put in, but the heat of the Chicago crowd clearly made that match memorable. The rematch in Queens where Bowens/Castor captured the titles was no MOTYC nor was it particularly good. Castor in particular was incredibly sloppy, I remember some elbow botch/selling a knee, but their act was well enough over to make it work for a very nice moment. I can't recall a single other match that was particularly good (there must have been at least one? FTR?). They were always a comedy/Sports Entertainment act, and I can accept that. I'm just oppose to the weak material. 69 day!? Yeah, DX would be a good comparison. The fact that their skits are more pointless and less entertaining than those rotten DX quarter hours is a testament to just how rotten this trio have been. All that said, I still think Bowens/Castor are likable and full of potential. They just need a modicum of awareness that not every one of their basic ideas/whims are actually funny/entertaining. They would also benefit from a good writer. I like their association with MJF which may have some legs. And could be something that helps steer the ship passed basic bad comedy.
  14. Mox v Rush was a tremendous opener. Wild seeing Roosh take Moxley to the limit. It felt like things could get legitimately out of hand which is always welcomed. Interesting finish. Just curious, where are all the Seller Critics? I guess that criticism is detained for high flyers only? Jay White promo was good. Roderick Strong promo was Roddy’s standard excellence. Love seeing Roddy get this ‘ADAM!’ shit Over. I’ll patiently await what's next, but not quite on board with the decision to remove Roddy’s wheelchair. His current entrance out of the chair and up the stairs is far too awesome to eliminate. Hangman/MJacobF promo was fucking awesome. Page continues to rebuild his top guy act here in late 2023. Briscoe v Swerve was excellent. The Montreal crowd felt a bit like something out of the WWE universe without a clear cut heel/face, but they came around. Mariah May promo was good. Really looking forward to her debut. MJF/Joe v Mask’er’aders was a disappointing segment. I’m struggling to find much enthusiasm over the Devil reveal. Moxley/Swerve promo was also excellent. Toni v Skye was solid. Very into the TCM intro. I love seeing Riho, but I’m not in favour of Toni v babyfaces. Jay Lethal v Jay White was terrific. Wake up Montreal. Christian Cage v Adam Copeland was fine, fine pro wrestling. Shayna Wayne turn was goofy, but no complaints on the plot point. As most, I expected a gimmick rematch so had no qualms with the plot points - namely the Shayna Wayne turn. AEW rolls along providing fun television week in/week out for anybody more interested in a quality product than scrutinizing the output numbers of a challenger brand facing the family friendly Walt Disney of pro wrestling.
  15. I wish you were wrong. I like Bowens and Castor. I like Dad Ass in a non-wrestling role. That said, I don't think Assy is entirely to blame for their awful run as Trios Champions. Yeah, I can't remember an Acclaimed talk segment that wasn't one of the shittiest 1/4 hours of any broadcast the company has done in 2023. Still, I'm here for some sort of ideal bounce back even if I assume we're getting nothing more than rinse repeat 'comedy'.
  16. I guess technically considering how few are actually ‘over’ you’re not entirely wrong, Judging by the lack of interest in her matches prior or during, all while being pushed as a ‘champion’ I don’t rank her as ‘over’. Sparse occasional ‘holy Shida’ chants seem more based on the amusement of the chant than what she’s doing in ring. I maintain, she’s a good hand (not unlike Tony Nese or Alex Reynolds) but nowhere near the level of a Champion/leader.
  17. With inexperienced workers being pushed into Title bouts and even winning some said title bouts, I'd say there's plenty of room for more Talent. Tho, TK's loyalty to his talent certainly doesn't help this Division's output. Shida's a good example. Hikaroo's a good hand, but nowhere near Over nor capable of carrying or leading a Division. She's also one of most inconsistent performers on the roster. Sometimes good, sometimes not. Emi did seem hindered by comedy earlier on, save for that excellent Riho match from, I think, an early PPV or Dynamite. The last couple years Emi's been so steadily terrific. I find Riho a lot of fun, and an incredibly smart worker. Her ability to ignite quiet crowds down the stretch of her matches is total overlooked by the detractors. I'm not suggesting they're the same workers, nor that she has all of his great traits, but her underdog act works similarily for me like pre-juice (not Juvi) Mysterio. Looking forward to the Toni Storm bout, but not so convinced Toni's best potential opponents are on the babyface side.
  18. I too loved the match, but was expecting I would. I thought the build was excellent - in particular Copeland’s Savage-like collision promo, the terrific video packages and everything Christian has done. Shayna Wayne’s involvement was certainly goofy but welcomed. Too much logic and reason and quality execution to be foolishly labelled TNA or WWE. Further, I’m ready for more.
  19. One of the most intriguing line-ups of the year. Roosh v Mox! Christian v ADAM!!! Is 2 hours ample time for so many happenings? So stoked! MTL!
  20. I agree without the family element. With, I think you're probably right. But there's definitely something far more captivating about sitting in the dark of a quality cinema without life's distractions that makes it still far more appealing for a solo viewer. Granted, that thought comes from an Ideal cinema setting which isn't by any stretch the norm in 2023.
  21. Love that. I generally look for and attend screenings at low volume times. Weekday matinees all the way. The Comic Book Explosion era seems to have made audiences less aware of their unspoken agreement to shut the fuck up, keep their phones off, and not bring unacceptable crinkly bags of 'food'/etc into the cinema. Avoiding ppl at the cinema is necessary. Luckily, here in Toronto, we have the TIFF Lightbox that draws a crowd far better equipped to allow their neighbours to enjoy films with peace and focus. What a great time of the year for film. I've seen so many wonderful films lately: May December, Oppenheimer (on both 70mm and Imax), Killers of the Flower Moon, (tho not entirely successful) Priscilla, and especially Anatomy of a Fall. Here in Toronto we've also been treated to a Christian Petzold retrospective. Transit, Phoenix, Barbara, Undine, and especially his 2023 film (now playing on the Criterion Channel) Afire. There's still a bunch of stuff I'm excited to see: Holdovers (today maybe), the goddamn IRON CLAW, Maestro and especially the newest Kaurismaki joint Fallen Leaves. 2023 is feeling like a really strong year.
  22. Excellent week of AEW TV. So many great matches (as per usual), but how they ratcheted up the promos/packages is the real true positive takeaway. It's the kind of thing that if kept consistent could greatly benefit the performers, the matches, the presentation, everything!
  23. Re: Rampage Baby OC/Dan H/Trent/Hook v 2.0/DO was a good warm-up dark match, but not much of a TV bout. Ruby/Saraya/Anna promo was good. The truncated Flair/Sting promo was a solid TV segment and good edit. Stat/Hikaroo/Skye promo wasn't particularly great, but PROMOS TO SET-UP MATCHES ON THE SHOW! AmIrite! Callis Family squash. Ha, now Hobbs' shitty 'In Action' creative is poisoning the Takeshita and Fletcher waters. Fuck this shit, gimme a competitive win against contracted lower card talent. Please. Don Callis promo time makes for beautiful television. Nana/Cage/Workhorses promo was good! Skimmed Anna/Saraya/Ruby v Stat/Hikaroo/Skye. Skye really oughtta make that shitty finisher a mid-match near fall spot and only with ppl she can hit it with. Anna Jay is quietly becoming a star. Cage/Workhorses v Vikingo/Penta/Kommander had some flashes of brilliance, but was mostly trad Rampage blah. Not a great show, but this week of Television has featured a lot of necessary promos/packages and the shows/performers are/and will benefit from this. I liked the production effort here. Re: Collision Awesome Promo montage to begin! Wouldn't hurt to have the ladies featured in there. Claudio v Brody was fucking awesome! Felt like it could go either way, but I support the Brody ascent. Moxley promo was solid but seemed to feature some Steiner like math. Jon's feelings suggest he needs time off more than matches. Abadon v Kiera was a decent TV bout. Ugh, I fucking loathe AEW lights out. Joe/Roddy/Kingdom promo was more 2023 Roddy excellence. Andrade v Garcia was terrific pro wrestling. Easily forgotten sandwiched between the higher profile CC bouts, but this was crisp, solid, excellent action. Wardlow video/Willie Mack promo! Everybody is getting a microphone tonight, and I am thrilled! I won't assume Mack-Wardlow gets time, but if it does, it could be really good. Underrated Mack finds ways to get the crowds. I'm daydreaming now of all the excellent hope spots. Kingdom v Savages was a good squash. Send the Savages to Japan please. BTW Kaun/Toa looked strong in the bout I saw against Narita/Umino. I never tire of any of these Roddy tropes especially his post match attacks/surges. Ethan Page promo! I like the gentlemanly way in which he challenged Omega. I'm into that! So thrilled to see AEW utilize/value the use of promos/packages! Like the WIllow/Mercedes video package! That's how ya do it! Mercedes is a fun heel. Buddy/Black v Sydal/Daniels was an excellent TV match. Fuck 'In Action' this is the kind of competitive win that gets talent over. Malakai promo following was the best I can remember from him. Sooooo stoked for FTR v HOB. Toni/Skye promos were very good/good and important. Christian/Adam! video was excellent. Stoked! Vikingo v Sabian was solid. Keith Lee/Shane Taylor promo was terrific. Glad this feud isn't the next Swerve/Keith. A match worth seeking the Final Battle for. I'm hoping it ends with a handshake and a return of the Pretty Boy Killers. Lee Moriarity is a stylish man. Miro/CJ promo was good. Miro continues to disappear for weeks at a time and it's a bit irritating. CJ's good with the mic. Danielson v Kingston to no one's surprise was the grade A excellence expected from two of the best contemporary workers. I worry so much about Bryan, but the tension absolutely sells the sizzle. Ha, if anybody but Bryan held up a sign after victory with the losing opponent's name 'is a bum' there'd be a line-up of ppl calling it a burial. I liked it here and I like Eddie fighting from an 0-2 deficit. Great show! And great week of AEWTV. I like the fire the (Mall Punk) competition places in the belly of All Elite Wrestling! #AEWRTMFW
  24. Nicely summed up there. Is the continued talk of Gravity botching everything just ppl echoing Alvarez's ridiculous WOR sentiments or? I must've missed something, I saw one pretty passable botch and his regular and expected (sometimes patchy) performance. I wonder if Gravity looking so much like his brother in-ring, without the years of polish, leads ppl to believe they're getting a Bandido match, and then find themselves disappointed?
  25. Such a fun show! The Mox v Lethal opener was totally on point. Lethal is such an underappreciated midcard hand. Nice Eddie Kingston promo. Allotting an increase in weekly promo time for the King is a really good play. The Bryan Danielson promo follow up was even better. Danielson was excellent on commentary. I hope he considers taking a regular chair at the desk after 'retirement'. I really liked the traditional style Sting/Ric Flair local promo. Tho, 'rehearsing' was obviously a terrible word choice, and really oughtta required a second take. Briscoe v Rush was so fucking great! AEW please stop Mark from doing the Elbow to the floor in any match but the most important. I want/need this beautiful toothless man healthy for years to come. Toni Storm promo was good. She's on track. MJF promo was excellent. A nice bounce back from that nonsense last week. He sold the Joe bout so well. I loved the line about '(Joe) believeing in the three letters and not just lining his pockets.' It played nicely off the bland 'Money not friends' Punk promo from Raw. Big Haircut v AR Fox was so much better than Wardy's regular 'In Action' fare. Giving just wee little goes a lot further in showcasing his strengths. Top Flight/Action v Hardys/Zay was fun stuff. I was absolutely feeling the hometown Minneapolis crowd. So happy for Dante. Now let's get those straps off the accLAME and onto an actual fun trio - how bout Top Flight/Action? I loved that they followed up the big win with a Top Flight Promo after the break. That's exactly the kind of programming/presentation they need more of. So stoked for Top Flight/Action v Penta/Vikingo/Kommander. I skimmed passed most of Emi v Julia. I love Emi, but Julia still feels so far away from being a pushed title holder capable of actual good matches. Also, send the House rules to WWE catering with the wannabe Titans. Mariah May promo was alright. I watched some fun May/Stardom highlight packages recently, and am stoked to see her in an AEW ring. Unfuckingbelievably awesome Christian promo. I said Goddamn, goddamn! Big, big laughs over here. Christian sure is earning his money these days. After this fanfuckingtastic segment and Copeland's excellent promo on Saturday, I am so stoked for MTL! Kinda wanna go. Road Trip? Jay White v Swerve to no surprise was just wonderful. Danielson clearly loves Strickland and Jay. This show was an easy: 'AEWrulesthefuckingworld'!
