  1. Keep trying to wrap my head around the whole thing. We know from what’s been reported that Kenny and the bucks had three year deals, with owner options for the fourth year, which were picked up. Pretty reasonable to assume that all three acts (Kenny, bucks, Cody) had the same contract structure. Dave even said maybe there was a two year option on cody. Lawyers got involved a few days ago, and now Cody and Brandi are clear from the company and apparently everything connected to that. Could the owner option on Cody’s contract have been picked up, and then he lawyered up to get out of it? Like all the wwe talent have fantasized about forever? Is this the 4d chess that’s really been going on? (Or are the edibles kicking in already…) Edit: probably most likely a star athlete tried to negotiate an extension a year early I guess.
  2. You know how the wwe recruits who never even watched wrestling think about the biz and how the fed is the only game in town? I can see some of the wide eyed aew rookies who feel like they came to this magical perfect place suddenly feeling really weird and uncertain now that papa Cody is gone. But it will only be temporary.
  3. This can’t just be financial. A week and a half ago Cody was in a big match on tv and Brandi started/continued a new angle. Now they are suddenly both gone from the company. With the American heart association announcement, season 2 of the reality show exec produced by Tony, something went down. It’s too messy and complicated to just end like that. I’d also say this is a huge perception issue for aew, even if it’s the sum of the parts being more than the pieces themselves. They have tons of talent, they have star power, Cody and Brandi especially were not getting ideal reactions. So just losing the two of them as talent isn’t that big of a deal. But this is one of the founders of aew. He basically willed aew into existence in the couple years between leaving wwe and the start. Him and his wife were both front facing executives, even if their actual executive roles weren’t that substantial. And then suddenly…gone and likely showing up in wwe. Even if this won’t hurt aew long term, even if this won’t help wwe long term, it’s a pretty damn big deal.
  4. That’s interesting. So the second Saturday special is being taped? First one was only an hour, second one isn’t even live?
  5. Obviously Vince is going to want him to badmouth aew, even if it’s just a throwaway line like some of the guys have used going the other way. Curious if he’ll draw that line or not. Got to say this is interesting. I’ll definitely be tuned into wwe when he shows up.
  6. My son had a blast at the show. Can’t wait for the next one. Unfortunately Kylie got hurt. She landed on top of her head on an awkward suplex and that turned into a flat finish. Then she rolled out of the ring where I couldn’t see her and the ref and fans started waving for help, which isn’t fun to see. Then a bunch of refs and wrestlers helped her to the back. She was upright so I don’t think it was devastating but it certainly wasn’t selling or an angle. Hope she’s ok. Awesome show otherwise.
  7. I didn’t notice but sounds just like the two times I dragged my wife to a wrestling show.
  8. When mentioning Keith Lee’s appearance, don’t forget he had serious heart ailments stemming from covid. He said for a long time the most strenuous thing he could do was walk a short distance.
  9. Bold predictions. I hope it’s something huge but I’m coming in with very low expectations and the assumption it’s Keith Lee, which is awesome enough. I like how TK said “I have created some debate about what it means to open the forbidden door…” Matt925: The sky is red Everyone: No it isn’t Matt925: I have created some debate about
  10. I’m pretty sure he just used that wrong. It’s a free agent who will be signing a contract, so it’s not forbidden door and it’s not a new japan guy. It’s Keith.
  11. I’m down for some gcw action. Watch they come out here before aew as well haha. Edit: there it is. Wonder what venue they are doing. I figure they’ll do in the 2k range.
  12. Pepperoni pineapple and jalapeño is the perfect combo. Ham on pizza is what’s gross.
  13. New Japan is advertising him for April 16 in Chicago. I guess it could be a per appearance agreement, or they could be blatantly false advertising.
  14. I was trying to update my friend on the comings and going’s of the women’s rumble and it took about 10 hard cam shots for me to determine there were 8 women left in the ring. I couldn’t count to 8 that fast.
  15. They very specifically announce juice robinson. He was supposed to be a free agent tomorrow right?
  16. They were trying to prevent him from wrestling in Japan, and I guess not paying him, because the judge was like, how the hell can you prevent someone from earning their trained living anywhere in the world?
  17. Hope she’s sticking around for a little while. Hope the tjpw-prestige partnership doesn’t prevent her from working other indies, such as mine.
  18. Kairi in japan. A “spokesperson” for wwe in japan nowadays literally means nothing. I understand not wanting her in aew, but not letting her wrestle in Japan, when she’s never coming back? Crazy. Hopefully she’s showing up in Nagoya.
  19. They fixed the price. $24.99. Wonder how many dozens got in early.
  20. Wow its showing up as 4.99 for me. I'm gonna order now in case they change it. If that's the price that's crazy reasonable. At least charge 10, a month of a streaming service. It's $25 on fite that has to be a mistake.
  21. At the same time, I go to work and I go shopping, so why can’t I go have fun. It’s all weird. But we’ve done everything we can to be good members of society.
