  1. Even in kayfabe terms, his job title is "wrestler". If he wants to get paid, he keeps competing. He could be a chickenshit about it, doing the Owens "screw this I'm outta here" bit when matches don't go his way, maybe start tapping the second he gets in a submission hold and cut a promo about living to fight another day, but he's still gotta show up to work. I feel like it's been so long ago that they routinely referred to wrestlers competing for the sake of an actual income, not for "the love of entertaining the WWE universe" or some similar hackneyed bullshit. This would make perfect sense, which is why they will likely go the complete opposite direction.
  2. I set match speed to -1, tends to make gameplay a bit less end-to-end and more of a midfield battle for 15-minute matches. There's a http://www.operationsports.com/forums/pro-evolution-soccer/855646-pes-2016-sim-settings.html'>thread on the Operation Sports forum that recommends some extensive edits of playing styles and tactics for all players/teams to further enhance gameplay (depicted in the videos below), but I haven't felt a need to start an exhaustive editing process of that scale as of yet. Especially as there's a Data Pack due to be released next week that will probably change some things anyway. A lot of people complain about how keepers are kind of useless with one-on-one chances, but I think it's more that shooting is way too accurate on default settings for both human and AI. They've already fixed my earlier main complaint about not enough fouls (on launch you could get away with murderous slide tackles without a second glance from the referee), so if they tweak the shooting slightly, it'll be great.
  3. What do you mean? They're all WWE Superstars who enjoy having fun and putting smiles on faces for the WWE Universe! They're trending on Twitter! Does nothing please you?
  4. Strawman argument. I don't think anyone is claiming that they were sold a false bill of goods on this forum, so your strained anecdote about an ignorant college student is well wide of the mark. There's a certain level of self-aggrandizing promotion to be expected from an organization like the UFC, and then there are the Derek Smart-levels of delusional shameless hype beyond any reasonable justification that preceded this PPV. Dana White's blatantly bitter reaction at the post fight press conference, especially after his earlier comments about Rousey being a bigger star than any other in the history of MMA, has contributed a lot to the current schadenfreude.
  5. No, so I guess that invalidates my entire point.
  6. You're mentioning him in the same breath as Flair, Dusty, Bruno, and Santo. It's not like you're listing every spawn of a good worker. I don't see Curtis Axel's name on your list. To be fair, it's relatively easy to forget that Curtis (as well as Bray and Bo) is a second-generation product of a Hall of Fame superstar, since the WWE basically ignores that completely with even the stupid name they assigned to him, outside of the odd allusion on commentary or the "Better than Perfect" t-shirt he had a couple of years ago.
  7. Rousey is by no means a fraud when it comes to rational analysis of her skillset, but the pre-fight hype delivered by the UFC was extreme overkill with its anointment and deification of her as The Ravishing Chosen Once In A Lifetime Unstoppable Elite Athlete Who Could Beat ANY Fighter In Any Weight Class or Discipline. Combine that with the ridiculous media blitz (all the talk show appearances, discussion of a Hollywood biopic, her announcement as starring in the Road House remake), which resulted in a bit of overexposure that was bound to annoy a fair share of people, we're now seeing a reaction against that.
  8. There's also Ray Gordy (the erstwhile Jesse/Slam-Master J).
  9. A little of both. The one time it ended up on the ground and Ronda went for an armbar, Holm squirmed out with relative ease.
  10. Beyond anything else, I'll bet TheVileOne's indictment of his career hurts the worst for Mirko.
  11. Apparently Mathieu Valbuena's laptop (featuring a sextape starring himself) was stolen, and he has been facing blackmail threats in regards to the video being released to the media. Recent developments are suggesting that Benzema is somehow tied up with the group behind this extortion racket, with speculation that he may have assisted the group in procuring the laptop in question. Djibril Cissé was also recently held and questioned regarding the same issue, but ultimately released.
  12. Hope you weren't holding your breath. The Petulant One refused to speak to the media, and indeed forbade his coaching staff from going in his place. He's getting the axe sooner rather than later. Couldn't happen to a nicer fellow.
  13. I love how someone who gets so up in arms about anyone ever judging a game (that he likes) based on a trailer turns around levies criticisms based on the thumbnail of a trailer that he refuses to watch.
  14. It's over. Virgil Van Dijk has had one of the worst performances from a Dutch center back I've ever seen. And that covers a LOT of ground. Time to blow it up and start all over, the way Germany did after Euro 2000. Maybe bring in Wim Jonk, who has done very well with the Ajax youth setup (since the Oranje is more or less a U-23 squad anyway at this point).
  15. Exhilirating scenes on display during the climax of the first match of the ODI series between South Africa and India. India, chasing down a total of 303 set by South Africa, needed 11 runs from the final over to win the match. The South African bowler? 20 year old Kagiso Rabada, who had only just made his ODI debut for the Saffers in July. As SA looks to be on the verge of living up to their reputation for bottling matches at the end, with seven runs required from three balls remaining, the youngster snatches two wickets to end the late surge from India. Awesome stuff.
  16. Chin up, at least Kane found himself back on the score sheet.
  17. Wham, bam, thank you Flam.
  18. The forums at http://www.pesgaming.com have all of the kits/logos that I'm using; apparently the Premier League/Championship pack at https://www.pesworld.co.uk/ is also quality. There's a lot of manual entry and editing of base colors before applying the images required (so that the attire of the fans in the crowd and accessories like underarmour/sock tape match the kits), but the results look great.
  19. Diego Costa is such a cunt.
  20. Yeah, I was kind of expecting as much. I'm waiting for the upcoming transfer update (which should be live in the next couple of weeks) to create and transfer players, but I've already used the edit mode and importing feature to add official kits, badges, and managers for the Premiership, Championship, and Portuguese Liga. I've also edited the 3 fake leagues and transformed them into the Bundesliga, J-League, and MLS (with official kits/badges/competition logos). When the update comes around and I can finish editing, my Master League experience is going to be awesome. I would share my editing work, but YOU KNOW... Anyway, the MyClub mode actually has a point this year, and seems like one can truly build a squad and work their way up without paying to win. I've also found online connections are exponentially better this year, virtually zero button lag at all during every match I've had thus far. Again, I'll still probably pick up FIFA 16 at some point for PC (especially if it goes on sale prior to/around the holidays), but I'm very satisfied with this year's PES. My only hope is that referees/foul detection and goalkeepers are both tweaked slightly (but not a lot) through patches - if Konami can manage to do that and avoid fucking up edit work with their data updates, I'll be quite chuffed.
