  1. ... Pimp Cesaro matches outside of Cena, Orton, Zayn, and Regal? Because I'm really not seeing anything else that touches Bryan's year outside of those.
  2. You either aren't reading the same article or are too settled into your role as resident DVDVR nice guy to notice the following seven annoying things:
  3. The whole "ritualistic chants" thing is what cemented this guy as a douche to me.
  4. I'd love to hear this argument. I like Harper, but saying his ringwork was more important than Bray's promos/the entrance/the gimmick itself seems pretty bold.
  5. Just wait until Roman has to go up against some REAL competition next round. He doesn't have a prayer.
  6. Hey, I'm not going to tell you what to do with your time. Unless you're voting for someone that works outside of Japan.
  7. And anyone being objective would agree with me and vote NJPW! Glad someone understands.
  8. Then might I suggest you just be quiet? Wrestling is an art form, subjective, and people like different aspects and different styles. They look for different qualities in what they enjoy. I'm all for variety and difference in style, as long as everyone acknowledges that the NJPW style is number one and the best.
  9. If you can't accept that Okada is factually better than Ambrose as a wrestler and that anyone that watches a couple of his matches would inevitably agree and stop enjoying what they like, then I don't know what to tell you.
  10. I predict this round will have the least voter turnout of the entire tournament, and that will upset someone.
  11. Supposedly Rude was training for a return to the ring when he died, so it's possible. The match in question was at Uncensored 98, and Rude didn't die until over a year later, so I doubt there were any plans.
  12. It's clear and evident that if everyone watched a few Tanahashi matches this would be a blowout in his favor. It's a fact that he's a better wrestler and everyone voting for Uso is only doing so because they like the Haka, because nobody could like their matches better.
  13. Hey, Fowler, while you're here, what'd you think of that Cena-Sandow cash-in match?
  14. If I hadn't already voted for Ambrose this would most certainly have convinced me to.
  15. It probably doesn't measure up to a lot of the other matches mentioned, but I've always had a soft spot for Venis-D'Lo from Summerslam 98.
  16. It wasn't directed at anyone in particular... just some general comments made on this board over the last few weeks. Matt - I understand what you are saying but the frustration will always be there. I mean we have talked about the greatest of Fuerza Guerrera for fucking 20 years, yet I do a WOTD on him and he gets 3 fucking replies. It's not like Fuerza is going to show up in a March Madness and folks will be all "Well I guess I need to watch this now" (And same exact thing happened to Damien 666 - though Fuerza is a 1000 times more amazing) I feel I should clarify that I was joking when I made the Austin remark - and add that I always check out the WOTD threads, though I don't typically have much to contribute to the conversation.
  17. I don't know why it's surprising that Mistico would want to keep going by Sin Cara. WWE has another guy under the mask just so they can keep the character around. He may be a laughing stock here, but Sin Cara has international exposure.
  18. Kramer was called a "hipster doofus" on Seinfeld in 1993. No one knew what it meant then, and no one knows what it means now.
  19. Sad day, but there is at least one recent outside-the-ring happening involving Sandow that I enjoyed (the briefcase business with Cody on Smackdown last summer). I noticed you couldn't say the same for Sheamus.
  20. He got a Raw main event slot that bombed, and then was fired for being hard to work with and having his mother call in sick to work for him.
  21. I don't think most are saying it was "bad" necessarily, just that both characters are so stagnant right now that nobody has any reason to care about who wins or what happens in the match. Sheamus hasn't had an angle of interest since I started watching again in 2011 - and if someone wants to debate that, please do, as I legitimately can't recall a single thing he's done outside the ring worth watching since. Christian is on his last legs as a character and worker, and his ceiling was not all that high to begin with. The "one more match" thing might be more interesting if anyone thought he had a snowball's chance in hell of getting anywhere near the main title again, but that is not the case. It's apparent to people watching that these two have been thrown together because there's just not room for them anywhere else - and it shows with the booking of the feud. Cole said on Monday that Christian's reasoning for having beef with Sheamus is that he's going for the same title as him - pretty weak by WWE standards, especially considering that these two are likely to get a Wrestlemania match out of it. I think the crowd turning on them, other than the length of the match, had a lot to do with just that - these two are getting Wrestlemania time, and for what? They haven't done anything of note (other than yes, have technically sound matches in the ring, which we all know is only part of the equation in WWE) for years and walked off the disabled list and into spots in the Elimination Chamber. Take a look at some of the notable new and/or popular people that will possibly not be on the card for whatever reason: Punk. Henry. Dolph. Goldust and Cody. Harper and Rowan. Big E. Sandow. Fandango. But we get another Sheamus-Christian match? That sucks, and the crowds are getting tired of it.
  22. Quality heel work from Road Dogg in cutting off the introduction, and the Outlaws put the Usos over clean as a sheet in front of a hot crowd - that's why they were brought back. Now the Usos are more over, and all the whining about the Outlaws was over a little month-long title reign. It was a great idea to bring them back in. Big E came off pretty badly, especially by just disappearing after the second match, but they haven't really booked him to look strong since he won the title. I expect him to lose it soon. "THAT'S WHY THEY CALL IT HASHTAG YES MOVEMENT!!!!"
  23. The slap comes after his feet hit the ground, so I'm not sure how it adds any impact. Christian's spear is somehow even less convincing than Edge's, and the aforementioned spot and Killswitch finisher both do nothing for me. People here seem to speak highly of how intelligently his matches are laid out, but that doesn't explain why he keeps diving headfirst into his opponents' signature spots. The Usos-Shield stuff should put them ahead on its own. Christian's been even less interesting than usual this year.
