  1. This doesn't look bad to me from a physics standpoint. HHH starts shying away from it at the last second, so the kick catches him in the side of the jaw instead of flush under the chin, turning his head and body to the side as he falls. I'm not sure how else he should have bumped it.
  2. Great nominations, excited for all of these.
  3. Here's his best Bulldog match, a really good match teaming with Shawn Michaels in SWS, Boss Man singles match, The 92 Rumble AND a Battle Royal; tons of higher profile stuff: http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2017/02/you-wont-believe-what-doctors-dont-want.html And here's a bunch more, including the infamous Undertaker match to set up a house show run, and a WAR trios with Haku, Tenryu, Ultimo Dragon and more! http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2017/02/berzerker-beat-dead-man-using-this-one.html
  4. Loved the Bret Hart match, everybody should check out how great he looks in the Survivor Series 91 tag, battle of the Barbarians, more: http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2017/02/what-happened-to-berzerker-we-cant-look.html
  5. 11 more matches, including an awesome match against a babyface Greg Valentine that everyone needs to see: http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2017/02/73-shockingly-great-berzerker-matches_21.html
  6. Don West was loud, but I also thought he was good at covering for blown or sloppy spots, which I thought made him valuable despite the volume.
  7. This week at Segunda Caida I'm watching and reviewing every single Berzerker match I can find. I'm starting with his first WWF appearance, as The Viking, and going all the way through his retirement. Matt D turned me on to the glory of Berzerker, and I got hooked and then wanted all of the Berzerker. Here's the first 11 matches: http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2017/02/73-shockingly-great-berzerker-matches_20.html
  8. A game challenger, but Ki/Rey retains: http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2017/02/all-time-moty-head-to-head-rey-v-ki-vs.html
  9. This is my personal favorite of the Ishikawa/Ikeda singles matches. I'm not always great at ranking these type of things as I've seen all of them so spread out (and it's possible I missed a couple of them). But this felt big to me as they hadn't had a singles match in several years and it just felt like it had that built-in drama only made possible by them already matching up several times. Those early matches didn't have the history. So not only was the work in this match spectacular, but the history just made it unbeatable to me.
  10. Dude, you need to watch this one again. Though your take is intriguing to me...
  11. First Enzo match I ever saw was about a year ago @ Roadblock when he and Cass faced Revival, I thought Enzo fed them really well and worked a great FIP. He has looked horrible in literally everything else I have seen since.
  12. If ever there was a reason to give your CC number to a faceless Dutch streaming company, it would be for this match. It's one of the most perfect pro wrestling matches I've ever seen. You could argue "greatest Funk performance" and it would not be hyperbole.
  13. The fact that his umbrella floats away afterwards kind of adds credibility to the spot.
  14. Phil and I are going to be writing CWF Mid-Atlantic up every damn week. I regret not doing this sooner. Phil did Battlecade last week and here's our review of Ep. 89. Maybe with more free time I'll go back and start cherry picking old episodes: http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2017/01/cwf-mid-atlantic-worldwide-episode-89.html
  15. I thought there were not enough opinions on Omega/Okada on the internet, so I added mine: http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2017/01/i-also-watched-omega-vs-okada.html I personally thought JR was pretty bad on commentary. I thought he came off really phony, and it was really amusing to hear Mr. Less is More lose his shit over everything.
  16. I've yet to see anyone who "got" wrestling less than David Flair.
  17. Yeah I think the finish worked and was effective due to happening in the main event of the biggest show of the year. What's funny is that Phil is reacting negatively to this WM finish, while I loved it; and I am reacting negatively to the next year's WM MacMahons involvement, while he didn't care and it took 6 months for me to love it. Pro Wrestling Friendship.
  18. Ultima Lucha II was taped 1/30/16. I'd be surprised if Muertes/Cuerno didn't get added to our 2016 MOTY list at some point.
  19. I think Luger is one of the lost great workers. Even through 1996 TV stuff he looked really good. Luger is a guy who needs a proper reconsideration.
  20. Kal Rudman really is a great answer. Kal is just the leery, creepy best. Watching a 1980 Spectrum show and they had an ad for The First Nudie Musical and Dick Graham is having trouble getting through the written advert, and Kal just blurts out "I would love to see Cindy Williams nude. It's a fantasy of mine."
  21. It's because he looks exactly like Muscle Man from Regular Show
  22. I think Phil based a lot of Fujiwara work on that Kawada match. As in, who the hell is this old guy dragging down peak Kawada?? The same as Dean always talking about what a load Tamon Honda was. I think Fujiwara really was a genuine revelation when the nominating for the Other Japan 80s set started.
