So the bar down the street from me has a bunch of TVs that usually have sports on but a few of the bartenders that work the closing shift will switch one of the TVs to the Baywatch Roku channel so it's just a loop and just seeing the typical early 90s California beach body is so jarring compared to now.

WWE TV - 3/24 - 3/30/2025 - I'm Only Happy When It Reigns
Ramo2653 replied to Dolfan in NYC's topic in WWE PROGRAMMING
I think with Trick they're doing a pretty good job of not presenting him heel or face (at this point, if they do something silly like make him the leader of Darkstate I'll roll my eyes) but just putting different scenarios in front of him while being the same character. He always been brash, cocky, overconfident, etc which made him come from being Melo's right hand man to champ in NXT, but it's also making him not reflect on why he lost to Oba twice, dismiss why he was caught up with Thorpe and why he keeps dismissing Je'von's warnings about Darkstate and their general chaos. He's still hard headed and he hasn't learned his proverbial lesson yet. The only thing he's done is wear his dreads down more with an occasional headband and put more oil on his pecs. Also, I think Noam's injury threw some things off, it looked like Noam was gearing up for a feud with Trick for the title with Lash being in the middle after they did a brief trial run with it. His style adds something to NXT that they don't quite have right now. Also we need the full Meta Four entrance back at some point. I assume they're just cycling him off TV for a bit since he lost the King feud and they don't have immediate plans for him. He's working NXT live events and he's scheduled to be at Bloodsport during Mania weekend. I really liked this week's episode and there are a lot of folks on the roster I want to see but not quite enough time to see everyone. -
TNA 2025 - A Division of TKO Media

I'm firmly in the "believe it when I see it" camp. Anthem pretty much leveraged everything to buy TNA and worked to turn it into something decent, I'd be shocked if they just sold it off. Also branding wise, I can't see a 3 WWE sub promotion working with NXT and Evolve/WWEID. Not sure what she wants to do but I think Gail Kim would be a good pickup for AEW to get another person in on creative. -
Guess I'll be the guy who was meh on this week's episode. Didn't care for the multi man match and thought the finish was silly and not in a fun way. Starks/Mone was fun and that ending segment was nuts Mone got her head tucked in time (and the camera angle was high enough that you weren't sure what exactly happened) and the count was perfect in playing with your expectations of "did someone mess up? Oh foot on the rope!" Count me in the group of "nail bat suplex is dumb" and the crowd went mild after the rest of the death riders came back. Good job putting it in the middle though. Main event was good and Toni is killing it as always. I can't imagine what WWE at any point would have said if she brought up this character. It's perfect and would never work anywhere else but in AEW and it's extended universe of partner promotions.

March 2025 Wrestling Discussion

Regarding the comedian guy pissing off a wrestler, I'd assume him making a crack at any of the LGBTQIA+ wrestlers might get someone worked up or making a joke about any of the wrestlers in relationships. Like I can't see Montez taking jokes about Bianca well, or Jimmy and Naomi, Kaiser is my wildcard. 15 to 20 years ago, Orton would probably be my #1. But I'm sure he'll get a list of stuff that's off limits and he doesn't want to mess up his sweet Netflix money. -

Isn't the general consensus that Sami is very very opinionated and can be hard to work with but he's a nice person so people bear it? Even Roman said in a recent interview that he was thankful that Heyman was the one to deal with Sami most of the time. Like Riddle is a goof but I could see him clashing with Sami and Kevin and I could see his attitude irking those guys. -

We've got a summer college league team in a suburb north of here that's fun and an independent league team that's pretty fun to go out to see since they do package deals with 5 or more people and you can get a swag bag and unlimited food and drink for like $30 a person. I never remember anything about the games though. Considering TNA has hired several people WWE has cut (and even had them appear on NXT to further TNA feuds), I don't think it's a big deal. Dijak does seem like someone that would be perfect for a TNA run but maybe the couldn't figure out a price. -

Yeah, I'm not sure the point of switching up Parker's gimmick if she's just going to keep losing and not get any character development. -
Started some seeds this weekend. A few of them were seeds (Carolina Reaper, Scotch Brain, Black Cherry Tomatoes) I kept to see if they'll be viable so I'm excited to see what happens. Also started Thor's Thunderbolt peppers, some sugar peas, big pink beefsteak tomatoes and some Trinidad scorpion peppers.

This is a joke, but they probably don't want to hire anyone for it to avoid another Tate brothers issue.

One of the things AEW does that I enjoy is set up long term title shots for guys and have some long term planning. Like you'd never get a WWE wrestler talking in October or November about the Rumble as a long term goal for them to get to 'Maina. So if the Owen is for the shot at All In in July and the tournament might start in May then it's a long term goal for Will instead of trying to jump or interrupt Moxley during a promo or something.

Upcoming Video Game Releases (2025 & Beyond)

Depending on how the tariffs go, they might not be able to avoid a higher price unless they take a loss on the console price. I don't recall it's that normal for Nintendo like it is for Sony or Microsoft. -

I started Ghostwire: Tokyo and it's just kinda boring? I don't have a desire to finish the game off. Everything seems very repetitive. The setting is cool enough but it's just shoot or stealth monsters and explore for power ups. Not a lot of variety in combat options. -
I knocked out the Showcase last night after work and after the MITB match I just kept it on EASY, wasn't worth my time. Credit to Heyman to committing in full to those segments though. Also Roman looked kinda small in his segments? Or he just had a baggy shirt on or something. Crappy that the MyFaction rewards are worse this year than last year though. Like Cliff Hanger said, just find a towers match that you can repeat. Like last year there was an early Carmelo match where you got unlimited stamina so you didn't have to really stop for anything. The first matches in the tower were easy for me but I'm using Strikers so it was just light attacks, hard attacks and get red damage on heads so it wasn't too bad. I got my Sheamus up pretty quick and Stratton took a bit longer since she doesn't have that many strikes to the head but also wasn't that bad. Did the first part of the World Tour and the card restrictions seem annoying already. What's the point of getting better cards if I can't run through stuff like this? You expect me to be skilled!?

Yeah, they're trying to stretch it out when I think they could have helped themselves by not having Jey pick Gunther so fast. Of course we'll get Jey vs Theory and then Jey/Alpha Academy vs. Gunther/Theory/Waller. I think they're just banking on Jey being over so they don't feel like they need to do much. And if I'm either Jey or Guenther I'd be pushing for something more. -
Welcome! There's a fridge in the back and I put some chicken and dumpling soup on the stove.
-
Also it's shitty, but you can cheese those submission matches by getting count out wins. I did that with the Iron Sheik event using a Sheamus I got from my starter pack that I evolved to Ruby.
-
To be fair to Mina, she stands out. I'm pretty sure the first time I saw her was a group pic that DZ posted and I asked who was that compared to everyone else in the photo. Even when Mone pie faced Momo after her match in Australia, I knew it must have been a wrestler but it wasn't someone that stood out IMO. And Momo's interactions since have been a segment where Starks did the heavy lifting and she came in with a bat at the end and a few pre-tape segments before that warm up match last night. Even in the AEW hierarchy, she's not viewed as someone important. It's just a match for having a match. And it'll probably be a pretty good match!
-
Also LOL at still being able to use the count out cheese to win submission matches.

Randy starting off the show with gay sex jokes, meh. Charlotte wears things that I'm not fashionable enough to appreciate. Paul George getting boo'ed was funnier than it should have been. He's had an awful year. Naomi and Bianca killed this segment. This is the best version of "I did it for The Rock" Drew continues to kill it. And B Fab becomes the sacrificial lamb next week. Slight goofball Solo is worlds better than silent henchman Solo and wanna be boss Solo. Braun testing the skull hardness hierarchy with those headbutts on Jacob. Street Fight was meh (probably because it seemed like a forgone conclusion) but I guess Alba is part of Chelsea's crew? Andrade turning into the SD version of Kross stirring up shit? I really hope that's a makeup job on Cody because that's gross. I'm leaning towards makeup because it would probably be darker by now? Randy popping up on Melo to correct him on what game he played was hilarious. That interview he did with Cody where he said he had like 500 hours on Elden Ring is nuts. Is he just playing around with different builds or doing weird challenge runs like a streamer? Kinda wish Drew/Jimmy got more time, but that wasn't the goal. We're probably getting a Dusty finish with Shin/LA? -
So I played for a few hours when it unlocked for me after 11PM my time last night. Seemed a bit slower than last year (which I was still playing on Tuesday) but reversals seemed easier. Also having the dodge button mapped to the reversal button is going to take some getting used to. Chain wrestling seemed fine. MyFaction seems to be the similar to last year. I will keep my goal of not spending actual money on it. I haven't touched the Island or creating a wrestler yet since I figured it was going to be broken for a bit.
-
Who is that? I thought it was Allie Katch for a second, but that's not her hair color. My general thoughts on AEW: Death Riders bad. Like really really bad. Everything else pretty damn good. I'm also not into matches for matches sake right now and I'm not sure why. Just a personal feeling. I also did not have Don Callis being Bobby Heenan to Omega's Hogan but I'm glad we're here!
-
He did an appearance on Edge and Christian's WWE Network show about it so I assume he's got a good sense of humor about it.

I haven't watched an episode of Memphis in forever (so like 2ish years) pretty much once they stopped airing stuff from CWFH if that's even a thing anymore. Is it hard to get back into? Bret Michaels didn't set me on fire when I saw him a few years ago on the show so I'm not sure if he's changed at all or not. -

Yeah, I feel really bad for Cora at least she walked out of the ring on her own. Kelani's strikes leave a lot to be desired and was really notable during her strike exchange with Jaida. She's really smooth with her movement though. The pop up Samoan drop from Jaida got a chuckle out of me considering the vague rumors about her and Jey. I thought Spears/Tony D was really good and really liked the ending.
