lol this is carny as fuck and I can’t decide whether I hate it or love it. “I might be in NXT in two years, brother. I need a hundred more, trans, and no job.” -

I can't link the Tweet, so here's the reddit story on it. If it's true that WWE ID workers can't job to non WWE ID workers, and some WWE ID workers have no-showed bookings to make Evolve tapings, I wouldn't bring them on, either. -
I didn't even know about this. Every goddamn time. Awesome craft brewing company, large and varied group of beers, cool seasonals, etc --> get bought by giant company --> quality drops and variety of offerings is drastically cut to the nothing but the 1-3 beers that sell the best. Add Dogfish Head to the pile with Magic Hat and Lagunitas (I still drink Lagunitas but I miss their other beers outside the two that they sell now). Enjoy your cool craft brewers while you can!

I remember when Excalibur used to call it "Tree of Joey Lawrence" but that's a dated reference.
-
Exactly. Danielson is awesome but no way did he need a gold watch reign with less than four months left on his full time career. That was absolutely TK making a markish decision.

I can sort of see where @Gordi the BJW fan is coming from somewhat, but the way I look at it is I want to see AEW building younger guys, exclusively. I don't want past their prime "legends" who, more often than not, just feel like they're out-carnying a guy they see as a money mark to get a payday, getting pushed to the top of the card. I don't want 51 year old Adam Copeland in the main event scene. I want him building people. Ditto Christian -- is Nick Wayne really getting ahead in this act? I know the Hurt Syndicate is an over act, but their combined age is 150 and they have more time behind them than ahead of them, and all they're doing is eating guys up. People bitch about Jericho but when was the last time he was at the top of the card? I remember the old story of when Heyman was being considered to run TNA. He told Dixie she could keep one "legend" and that was her dealbreaker. I don't want AEW to become TNA. Oh, so you have a legend or two on your roster? Cool, there's some veteran presence to help the young guys. You have multiple legends on the roster? Congrats, you have an old roster.

Jericho paid a lot of money for that hair! He's not putting it up against some midcarder! I remember before he got a transplant or whatever, Jericho would end up looking like Bill Murray in Kingpin 3/4 of the way through any long match. I can't wait for one of these old time carnies to shoot about how wrestlers used to lose hair matches when they started noticeably balding. Now they go to Turkey with a briefcase full of cash.

WHO SAID THAT? SOMEBODY TAKE AWAY THE NATURAL'S SIDE BREAD, DUDE!
-
So then told him look, brother...I'm not laying down, and you're not laying down, so bring in somebody else to lay down, dude. Remember that, Cope brother dude jack, you might need it someday.

Just thinking more about Claudio...was the Kings of Wrestling the most effectively he's ever been used? Man oh man do I wish Hero could get back in full time shape and motivation.
-
Yep. My initial response was something like, "I don't love the angle and their motivation is vague, but at least it's a long-term storyline and something intriguing might happen." Now it's been weeks and weeks of the same old shit. Their only motivation is the explanation, "we want a whole AEW full of Jon Moxleys." I have no idea what the fuck that means. If it means they want to turn all the non-serious, video game playing kids into edgelord ass-kickers, cool. But maybe DO THAT. Have the Death Riders indoctrinate a person or two. Something. Mox was great in the past as a fired up babyface face of AEW in light of the Punk bullshit. But this cult leader cosplay is lame. Pac is fine but he's been lapped by every other younger guy on the roster who does what he does and more. Yuta is good in his role of confused, abused young dude. Claudio is god's perfect horse. He is strong and impressive and bores me to tears. He's Malenko and Brad Armstrong -- a guy with a fun IRL personality who can't translate it to the ring.

If Dynamite starts with a notification that the Death Riders and Edge died on their way back to their home planet, I'd be fine with it.

Is it that hard to not be shitty to strangers on the Internet for having differing opinions about fake fighting? Someone says something you disagree with and offends your rasslin sensibilities. Possible reactions: A) Just ignore their post B) Engage, say "I disagree and here's why" without being a massive dick C) FUCK YOU MOTHERFUCKER Come one, dudes. It's not worth it to get this riled up and awful to others over people in their underwear pretending to fight.

You know what wrestling trope I love? Babyface vs babyface matches where the participants start off sportsmanlike and then slowly lose their cool. "It's getting chippy out there" as they say in football. I watched Steiners vs Sting & Luger from SuperBrawl 1 last night and it was so good. They do botch a few spots, but the sloppiness adds to the feeling that the guys are getting frustrated and it's falling apart. There's a funny spot in the match where Scott hits a somewhat wonky tilt-a-whirl slam on Sting, gets all fired up and celebrates, and just yells FUCK at the top of his lungs. -
Dusty's lisp was slight. Cody's lisp sounds like his whole tongue is coming out of his mouth and moving to a different country on every sibilant. He's such a phony that I wouldn't be surprised to find out he was exaggerating it, if not outright faking it. Well he failed as an actor, which tells you that he's not very good at it. So when he's trying to come off as sincere in a wrestling context, it's glaringly obvious he's a bad actor doing bad acting.
-
Yep, SuperBrawl V. If they book rematch Mox vs The Copester in a Yapapi strap match, watch out!
-
Can someone refresh my memory? What was the WCW match where Hogan pinned Flair even though Flair wasn’t even in the match? Was it Hogan/Vader? God damn, you know you ran a bad finish in your main when it has me thinking of Hogan pre-NWO WCW.

Also, just as carny.

Call around to find the cheapest out-of-pocket insulin prices in your area. Our old cat, who we had for around 16 years and died maybe 10 years ago, had the ol’ beetus. Wal Mart was the cheapest back then. Also, make sure you keep the shot schedule consistent. When we started, we didn’t know that. We started doing the morning shot when we got up for work on weekdays, like 6am. Then we slept in on a Saturday and gave it to her at like 11am. She was so sluggish we rushed her to the vet. Quite the expensive way to find out we were doing it wrong. From then on, I’d get up at 6 on Saturdays, feed her, give her the shot, and go back to bed.

Dogfish Head is one of my good local beers. There’s a Dogfish Head Alehouse maybe 20 minutes away. I like their 60 and 90 minute IPAs. The 120, on the other hand, just tastes like grapefruit juice.

My daughter is in karate classes and every time they do back leg round kicks or front leg side kicks, I think of Bischoff. He threw three distinctively different kicks, and JR called every one a savate kick! Was Lane actually a karate instructor at one point in his life, or was that more JR puffery a la Stan Hansen’s Baltimore Colts stint? -
There’s a chance he’ll agree to job if he got confused as to which “Jay” he was wrestling.
