  1. I can't wait for Planet Jarrett 2.0. I would laugh if Jarrett shows up in ROH or AAA though.
  2. One anecdote that got thrown around was that Tommy Dreamer, as soon as he joined TNA and started gaining power, was constantly going of his way to tell Dixie that the concussion/Nowsinki stuff was mostly BS and that running the ropes was far more dangerous than getting dropped on your head. He also claimed he'd had like 30 concussions and was fine. ECW FOREVER! If this is true, wow, screw Tommy Dreamer.
  3. So does this mean they revive WCW as a 1 hour show on SciFi every Wednesday morning for a year and a half? Triple H likes Triple H enough to warrant 40 dvds.
  4. I'd rather see Bray-Taker than Cena-Bray. Bray-Taker writes itself and if they had not bungled the Kane kidnapping thing could have already been given a few months of a head start.
  5. So... uh... Cena-Wyatt as the Mania main event? I'm hoping that is just one of those rumors we get around this time of year and not actually the plan. Going all Wrestlemania 8 on it seems sort of lame.
  6. I'm hoping the music during heel promos thing leads to some face taking over the production truck and giving Bully Ray wacky Seinfeld musical cues.
  7. I concede that; it is not fair to fully blame them. It is TNA, where everything that can be done wrong will be. There was no excuse for extending their contracts beyond the initial two years.
  8. If I'm a mid carder/second string guy in any major sport/sports entertainment league I don't want to get hurt. Cena, Kobe or Brady can miss months and still come back with a spot waiting for them. I imagine Nigel wouldn't pass a physical by any major league sadly, given his injuries. I too believe Nigel's bicep was probably the excuse WWE was looking for when they saw his history of head injuries. Iron Claw won't work in WWE unless they get behind and even then, no one is going to bleed when it gets applied. Anywhere else I think it could work today if the person doing it is talented enough.
  9. Hogan and Bischoff never really took chances, they just tried to bring WCW circa 2000 back to life. They never took chances on talent, they never did anything that wasn't self-serving. They didn't want to grow the company, they wanted to just show up and have that be a big enough deal to move them into the big leagues. Taking chances isn't bringing back the Nasty Boys, the nWo, Sean Morley and all the rest of their past their prime friends and have them dominate TNA all those years.
  10. In the NFL, you'll have access to the best care available IF that care is for the purposes of getting back onto the field ASAP. Long-term health is not the overriding factor, and it took a lockout and a massive lawsuit for the NFL to offer its retirees better benefits and pensions than the NHL had. Yes, but wrestling doesn't really seem to have the best care to get you back in the ring. Who knows what Cena had to do to get back from his surgery in two months time. Not that any of the drugs taken by the average NFL player and the procedures they do through are much healthier but I'd imagine they are probably a little better about it than the WWE. I can't see WWE providing much better care to anyone than the NFL. Suppose in the end, they all only care about you in the short term.
  11. If it is 2013 and they have yet to figure any of this out, they probably won't ever. Until Dixie isn't in charge, nothing will change. That is how they let Hogan/Bischoff run them into the ground for years. Jarrett leaving won't do much to change that, they never hire anyone competent.
  12. He still owns a percentage of the company though right? Probably for the best he steps away, except for MMA Jarrett nothing he did in TNA was ever noteworthy. Part of that was Dusty's fault though with his poor booking of Planet Jarrett.
  13. I figure anyone who plays hockey, football or wrestles probably have similar amount of damage done. At least in the NFL you could have access to better health care potentially than say McGuinness or Benoit had available to him. I'll be curious ten years from now how some of the 90's wrestlers are holding up. Brett Farve has admitted he has experienced memory loss already but he was around a long time in a violent sport.
  14. I'd suspect it'd be hard to figure out these health things so easily due to their reluctance to really speak up about these problems. Also, i'd worry more about the 90s AJs headdrop types just as much as anybody over there Weren't there reports from before his death that Misawa was showing some signs of brain damage? I remember when he came to ROH people said he was muttering to himself, kind of seemed off. Kawada, Taue, Kobashi, Akiyama; they cannot be healthy. Does no one remember Oro anymore? When I heard Whitmer had returned for ROH's last show all I could think of was his appearance on AOW. Kidding with Colt how they'd all have fused necks some day at the least. Chilling.
  15. Speaking of the damage concussions do, how is Masato Tanaka? Given how badly Nigel got concussed I imagine Tanaka has to be pretty bad too. I cannot watch those Awesome-Tanaka matches anymore, knowing Awesome committed suicide. I do have sympathy for Nigel, he came so close to his dream and the path he took to get there destroyed him physically. He always comes off well spoken in interviews, it is a shame so many lesser people made it in wrestling over him. Also, when did TNA officially enter the Tyson Zone? Because at this point, anything that gets reported about them I believe.
  16. I believe it is Lagana. Depending on who you believe, Jarrett either had a major hand in the booking or just advised the booking staff.
  17. That is the gist of every interview Nigel has ever given though. The Eeyore of pro wrestling.
  18. I will always love that Chokeslam into an RKO from Wrestlemania 21. Last few years I haven't really bought into anything as ending it though. Cena I might buy into, I could see myself freaking out if he countered a Tombstone into a AA.
  19. What if it was Kofi? The ultimate out of nowhere push!
  20. I was hoping for the epic Davey Richards-Jeff Hardy match up. Two bizarre fanbases but there can only be one!
  21. It is supposed to be more of a television product now, which is unfortunate.
  22. Ending the streak would bring an unbearable amount of expectation for whomever did it. How would you live up to the hype after that? A skilful writer could maybe do something with that but WWE creative would have the guy lose the next night on Raw.
  23. Arch Hall Jr in The Sadist. Not exactly a brilliant performance but he is genuinely creepy in it. Actually a decent little film if you can track it down.
  24. Well at least Chavo didn't do the Eddiesploitation in 2006. Give him that at least.
