  1. It's probably just the "hindsight is 20/20" in me talking, but I'll say it: DDP probably should have won the match against Goldberg.
  2. Don't get ahead of yourself. You might lose Nate Robinson too.
  3. I thought some of you guys told us Kaitlyn was going to overcome the bullying/odds and win this feud a couple of weeks ago?
  4. Jericho isn't short on finishers himself.
  5. Maybe. I think people sometimes put too much emphasis on the drawing ability of well-known actors/actresses. It's definitely a factor especially with independent films and in the past, certain actors like Will Smith/Tom Hanks seem to pull people in. I still think the marketing campaign, the premise, and if it's a popular franchise beforehand are just as important factors if not more nowadays. Brad Pitt, for example, is usually considered an A-List star, but World War Z is the biggest opening weekend in his career and it finished second at about $66 million. I think marketing, zombies general appeal, and World War Z name factored into its success. Probably more than Brad Pitt's presence.
  6. ...I came back like Jordan wearing the 4-5.
  7. Families came out this weekend and picked Adam Sandler and animation over Pacific Rim. That's the excuse I'm going with right now. I don't think you can put most of the blame on the promotional campaign. Pacific Rim was pushed pretty hard this week. I could see Pacific Rim being successful internationally though. I think it will appeal to many audiences outside of the U.S.

    Tyson Gay / PED's

I don't see Usain Bolt's name mention in these reports. Hopefully it stays that way in the future.
  9. I know most people weren't moved by the film, but Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone were way better as a Peter Parker/love interest combo than Tobey McGuire and Kirsten Dunst. They just fit the roles better and I enjoyed their interactions in The Amazing Spider-Man. Admittedly, I never cared for Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane in Raimi's films.
  10. The problem is selling "bottoming out" to Kobe. You know he's probably not going to be on board with this idea at this stage of his career. Oddly enough, if you're a Laker fan in support of tanking this year, you should probably be rooting for Kobe to sit out as long as possible this season.
  11. On paper, this Laker squad might already be one of the worst defensive teams in the league. Steve Nash, Nick Young, and Chris Kaman? This is even before factoring in D'Antoni's coaching style. I know everyone has their issues with Dwight and Metta World Peace is clearly on the tail end of his career, but it's going to be a long year on that side of the ball for the Lakers without those two, despite their shortcomings. Their offense might be okay with their new additions though.
  12. The synopsis of MIND MGMT interests me. Plus, I like to read "soon to be a major motion picture" graphic novels so I can be the cool, know-it-all kid in the group of friends I see it with upon its release. I'll probably give it a read when it's further along in the series.
  13. I finished reading Lucifer by Mike Carey, which is a spinoff of Gaiman's The Sandman. If you dig The Sandman, you'll probably dig this series too. I really enjoyed the way Lucifer was portrayed in Seasons of Mist(manipulative and arrogant but not dishonest or necessarily evil), and this portrayal is continued and elevated in Carey's Lucifer. I won't go out on a limb and say it's better than The Sandman, but I do prefer Lucifer over Dream as a protagonist. I'll probably read Christopher Ware's Jimmy Corrigan, The Smartest Kid on Earth next. I'm also thinking about getting into Brian Wood's books: Mara (mini-series) or DMZ . I've heard good things about both. I think I might cave and check out the first 5 issues of Saga. I was going to wait until Brian K. Vaughn finished the thing, but they're only on what? Issue 11 or 12? Sigh. Anyone read MIND MGMT by Matt Kindt? Yay or nay?
