In theory, I would like the best 16 teams to make it, but I'm not sure about getting rid of the conferences altogether for open seeding. I'm sure traveling isn't as grueling and inconvenient now, but it's still a factor. They definitely could get rid of divisions(who cares who wins the division?) or just seed base on record and still give out division banners if it means so much to the tradition bs(I think Jalen mentions it).

One thing I got to give Stern and the NBA a ton of credit for is embracing the internet. I actually don't see any comments in here referring to his acting prowess. I think you jumped the gun. Don't worry. I'm sure the opportunity for this angle will present itself. I try to stay out of these types of celebrity death conversations because they always lead to someone bringing up the same bullet points. He always seem pretty low key and mellow. I don't recall ever hearing much of anything about his private life outside of brief comments on his children. Bravo is playing Fast and Furious right now.

Yeah, the Atlantic Division is a black hole . The Nets are only 3 games back behind the Raptors(!), who lead it with a commanding 6-7 record. They'll still probably make the playoffs if Deron and Lopez don't fall apart. Of course, this expensive ass Nets team wasn't put together to make a nice little regular season run and make the playoffs. They were put together for a championship run. Nothing else(well, sell some tickets and merchandise too). Even those Big 3 era Boston teams never completely pulled off the "look mediocre in the regular season, and win the championship" move. The one time they won it, they dominated the regular season.

I actually thought the Nets would click relatively early in the season but fade near the end of the season due to injuries. I knew Pierce/KG/Deron weren't going to stay healthy for a full season. I didn't think it would be a problem this early on though. The Nets organization better hope they do the opposite of what I predicted and come on near the end. Their starting lineups has to be one of the most expensive in NBA history; I think all 5 of them make at least $10 million or more.
