There were two guys in that period of NXT that I thought had future star written all over them: Sullivan and Velveteen Dream. Boy do I know how to pick em.

I was going off this quote from his agent: "Our No. 1 goal is to get a long-term commitment from them," Lewis said on the eve of the NFL draft. "If we can't, then we're asking for a trade. And hopefully if he gets traded, that's what we do -- get a long-term commitment with somewhere else."

I believe this is more of a thing where he either wants a long-term contract from Cincy or he wants out. Not so much just wanting out.

To be clear, speaking for only myself, I'm going to like what I like. I'm not going to change that based on reaction of anyone else. My "dread" is more of a, "Oh. This is going to be a whole thing that people go on about for a while."

Last week, Mox cut a promo almost entirely with his back to the hard cam. Wonder if this week was a bit of an over-correction?

I think you're on to something there. I have times where I watch a show and have this sort of dread coming here knowing there'll be a contingent of people talking shit about it. Now, let me be clear. I'm not saying those people shouldn't talk shit about it if that's how they feel. I think we largely don't have a lot of bad faith actors here. There are a couple, but no one takes them seriously. It's just more of a thing where I don't want to "ruin" my high. Like you said, it's silly. Why should I let other people influence how I feel about something I enjoyed? But it happens. Sometimes I just don't want "discourse". I just want to talk about something I thought was cool. Again, definitely not saying anyone should change how they feel about something or how they want to discuss it. It's just a little feeling I get sometimes, and it doesn't just apply to this place. I didn't love the closing segment. I've been a fan of AEW largely avoiding the played-out authority figure trope. But I really feel this will be more of an angle to show the Elite going too far than one to make TK a regular on-screen character. I hope I'm not wrong. Generally, I'm pretty optimistic that they won't go that route. It was fun, though, after the segment aired, trying to kayfabe my son. He was APPALLED at what the Bucks did. His first thought was, "Well, Tony's going to fire them!" But then he came to the realization that the Bucks were EVPs (he has no clue what that stands for, but just knows if make them "bosses") and he may not be able to fire them so easy. Like, I couldn't get him to go to sleep because he kept throwing out scenarios that could come from the attack. "Maybe Tony fires them, but they say no and show up anyway?" "Can they fire Tony?!?!" "I mean, you can't just beat up your boss!!!" I've seen him excited about wrestling (You should've seen his reaction to Osprey beating Danielson. He was so excited!), but this is the first time I've seen him outraged.

I just caught the clip of Toni Storm clowning Cody from the presser. Great stuff from her.

It's been really good for a few years now. The roster is, like you said, really interesting and they cycle people through quite a bit, so no one gets too stale.

He used the name in TNA/Impact recently, so he must've had the rights to it. He did a match or a couple there, too. He was on one of the last Bloodsport shows, as well. So, I think he can at least work a little.

At this point, I really have come to admire AEW’s insistence that we never ever just “hear from” Chris Jericho.

Strong is a guy I don’t look forward to watching or actively seek out, but then when I do see him wrestle, I always remember that he’s really fucking good at it.

I usually watch in two chunks, too. When I watch live, it’s with a couple buddies who’ve worked in wrestling a while and know quite a few of the people in AEW personally, so there are lots of fun stories. Watched Revolution with them and it flew by.

I, personally, see that as a plus. I tried to sit through a couple WWE shows this year, and I swear on one of them (Rumble, maybe?) there was like 20 minutes between two matches with the video packages and commercials. That must suck live.

Live, the Collision main was amazing. So was Athena/Red. Also think Shibata/Moriarty is worth checking out. Some great mat work in that one. Really good crowd last night. We were really into everything except Rosa’s rambling promo. She got a nice pop when she came out, but that died off as she just kept going and going.

Speaking of Bret. I was just thinking today, did he ever have a 1-on-1 match with Dustin? I’d assume they did at some point during the Golddust run.

Well, me and the little dude will be there at Collision tonight. Should be really close to the stage for entrances but off the floor. Grabbed some cheap tickets that just opened up. Looking forward to it!
