  1. I'd say what really killed Luger was the finish to the Summerslam match with Yokozuna. Going into the match he knew it was his only title shot, yet he knocks Yoko out of the ring, then happily counts along with the ref for the 10 count and celebrates with all the babyfaces and balloons dropping from the ceiling. He blew his one and only title shot and is celebrating like he won the title, it made him look like a complete idiot. Even as an 11 year old mark who ate up all of the WWF's bullshit like it was ice cream, I knew the finish absolutely sucked.
  2. Same thing happened to Jim Powers. Young Stallions were broken up and turned into enhancement talent after this PPV. Roma got a reprieve and a second chance at PPVs in 1990 with Power and Glory, but Powers stayed with the company until 1994. Just like Brunzell his last PPV was the '88 Survivor Series.
  3. Scott Casey was actually a replacement for a replacement. JYD was originally supposed to be on the team but left the company. Muraco also left the company and was supposed to be on Warrior's team. The recently split up and turned enhancement Killer Bees were tapped as the replacements. Brunzell went to Warrior's team and Blair was supposed to be on Jake's, however, he quit the company over the Bees getting split up, so Casey got put into the match. Brunzell stayed with the WWF until 1993, but this was his last PPV.
  4. Blather Round might be my favorite Jackbox game they've done. It's essentially a puzzle trivia game, which are my two favorite genres. My family and I legit played just that game for three straight hours over Zoom yesterday.
  5. Nia Jax for me. Awful in the ring to the point of being dangerous, injuring countless people. Coupled with a "my shit doesn't stink" attitude because she's related to the Rock.
  6. I called the ending to the battle royal the second Lana went through that table without being eliminated. Yet another WWE battle royal where the supposed final two end up on the apron and do a bunch of hokey spots instead of trying to get back into the ring followed by the wrestler who spent the entire match outside the ring coming in for the "shocking" final elimination while the announcers exclaim that they forgot all about them, yet no one watching is actually surprised because this awful trope has been done to death.
  7. Yup, Mario 35 has hit full on addiction levels for me. Can't. Stop. Playing. I'm amazed at how well this game is designed, the risk/reward balance with harder levels and enemies as well as going for time or coins, it's perfect. I just wish more people would choose later levels, matches that are nonstop levels 1-1 and 1-2 get a bit old.
  8. If the set has a giant gargoyle holding a pumpkin it's a win.
  9. My favorite things about the Wii U were the NES Remix games. I'm really surprised they never did an SNES Remix.
  10. Lots of guys have been on Twitch all week, so if the meeting happened on Sunday, not sure how true that is. That said, if WWE did ban Twitch, I wonder how many guys would just say fuck it and become professional streamers like Rusev did.
  11. I'm happy for Breezango. Fandango signed with developmental in 2006 and Breeze in 2010 and this is the first time either one has held a title.
  12. It's criminal there were only three Riddler B:TAS episodes. Then they redesigned him for the worse for TNBA, putting him back into the leotard, and didn't give him a single episode.
  13. Riddler has been my favorite villain since Frank Gorshin on the '66 TV show. I've been dying to see him as the big bad in a good movie, so I'm pumped. I was so disappointed when he wasn't used at all by Nolan, I thought for sure he'd be in the third movie, but we got Bane instead. Having the Riddler be a Zodiac/Seven type of serial killer is perfect for the character, I can't wait to see this.
  14. Furnas and Lafon had music when they debuted as babyfaces, but dropped the music in '97 when they turned heel. Not sure if you want to count that as storyline as it was part of their "we're serious wrestlers" gimmick. Backlund might be the last guy to not have music. He didn't get music until very late in his run, Hail to the Chief, after the Mr. Backlund for President storyline. First time I remember him having music is Royal Rumble 1996.
  15. Didn't Samoa Joe win the NXT Title at a house show?
  16. The DC event is tomorrow where this game and Rocksteady's Suicide Squad game will be revealed.
  17. As someone who doesn't keep up with the comics, I have very little knowledge of the Court of Owls. Looking at Wikipedia they debuted in 2011, which means the original Arkham game is older than them. That said, it's a new Arkham game, the villains could be Crazy Quilt, Killer Moth and the Condiment King and I'd play it.
  18. The way the NBA does the virtual fan thing is by superimposing everyone's video over images of seats, making it look like an actual arena setting as much as possible. Something like that would look way better, all the different boxes are way too busy.
  19. Yup, and it ended up on a Coliseum Video. If anyone wants to see it, it's on the Network: https://watch.wwe.com/program/12258. The same video also has the Bret/HBK Ladder Match.
  20. It's like someone watched the Nexus debut and said, "How can we do this worse?" It's a good thing they showed up or else Smackdown would have had 10 minutes of dead air. Why wasn't there a main event that they could have interrupted, beat down a couple of name guys and maybe get a little bit of heat?
  21. Yeah, they did that a lot. There's a Savage/Bret vs Flair/Shawn tag match that Ross calls even though Flair was back in WCW before Ross started with the WWF. Bret was also only IC Champ at the time, and yet Ross refers to him as a former WWF Champion. Hell, by the time the Disasters/Money Inc title change was released, of the four wrestlers involved only IRS was still active in the company.
  22. The Disasters beating Money Inc. for the Titles was filmed and featured on a Coliseum Video that was released a year later. JR does play-by-play for it even though he wasn't in the company when the match happened. Money Inc. beating the Disasters for the belts aired on Wrestling Challenge, and part of that match was the Nasty Boys babyface turn and interference by the Headshrinkers that seemingly setup a feud with the Disasters that never happened. Kid and Jannetty beating the Quebecers happened on Raw. That switch was basically done to further setup the Bret/Owen split, as they had the title shot at the Rumble which turned into a non-title match after the Quebecers lost the titles. When asked about the Quebecers' rematch with Kid/Jannetty, Bret said something to the effect of he could never root for the Quebecers even if it meant getting their title shot back, which pissed Owen off.
