  1. But...if you watch the first episode of Raising Hope, a TV newscaster mentions a "small town crook trying to make good, and you won't believe how it ends." So there was an ending to Earl, if only Virginia and Burt were paying attention longer we'd know what it was. /Actually you should watch all the other episodes of Raising Hope too. //And the new season beginning in a month or so. ///Except the Bar Mitzvah musical one. That displaced "Sabrina's Got Money" as the worst.
  2. Over at the BOD, there have been numerous topics regarding best/worst finales. But there are many shows that didn't get a proper sendoff. What are your biggest examples? I'd have to go into the game show realm and pick Match Game, and especially the Gene Rayburn version. Only because when it ended, you'd think the episode would be the party to end all parties. But no, both the CBS and syndicated version just fizzled out. And actually, only the Ross Shafer version actually got to say goodbye in some way. Many of my favorite classic Britcoms never had a definite end too, really. Ab Fab had several (which leads to an additional subject...which series had good endings before the ending?????)
  3. Also of note, Calvin Knapp's music before the "Jobber" match was the early 90s WCW hotline commercial music.
  4. How did I forget Hulk/Loki? All the memories of the end teaser to Batman Begins makes me wish I didn't thumb through a novelization days before. Not a theater moment, but I marked out for the end of You Again when they reveal who Betty White's rival was.
  5. I remember when we went to see the first Mortal Kombat movie...there were these guys in the back of us who'd laugh at every joke and then explain it to the rest of the group. EVERY TIME. A little odder was at my viewings of Insidious 2 and Conjuring, people seemed to laugh at non-funny things. Not everything was even narmy in those films. Biggest movie "pops" I've witnessed... TDK = Joker's pencil trick Batman Forever (yes...) = the "Holy rusted metal" line. The audience broke into applause right after the joke. South Park: B,L, & U = Bill Gates dies
  6. There was a definite cut during the bell attack, now that I remember it.
  7. What interests me about the Batman-without-Batman series is, it is going be put out by *FOX*, not WB. So I assume that after nearly 50 years, Fox still has the rights for live action TV series based on the Bat universe, while WB has the movies and animation? Which leads me to imagine them pulling a swerve and making a series based on the *1966* James Gordon, which would be BATB-like fun. I know, they're not doing that, though.
  8. Yeah, I couldn't believe it when I saw that. My question is whether that was on the original airing or something ESPN put in. Yes it was in the original I remember laughing to myself but the great part is how Billy Steel jumps him before the bell and hits a awesome piledriver during the match. I didn't think they showed him do anything before the bell on the ESPN airing, they just jumped to the crowd (as usual) and the commentators mentioned what he did. re: Jeff Gaylord, I thought he was around for 2-3 years before Global started?
  9. I can't hate his Bison or the SF movie anymore. Years removed from being a bitter SF fan, I now appreciate the narm and the memes that came from it. And it was a better G.I. Joe movie than Rise of Cobra (or than a SF movie), in the sense that Masters of the Universe was a better New Gods movie than a MOTU movie. Plus, we later got Legend of Chun-Li, so 1994 kids had it EASY. /SF2Movie (anime) is still the best, though. Enter Vega = AWESOME tune. //Actually, I now feel the same way about Batman and Robin as I did with SF:TM.
  10. See, this is what Kamala meant by his promo to his son, that WWE will only let you in if you are racist and gay. In *2005* or whatever it was.
  11. Didn't they do an angle where a photo of the two in a compromising position was circulating?
  12. I don't think Kerry or Chris end up having a match on the ESPN shows. I know Kerry does a run in on a Johnny Hawk match and does commentary on one. Chris does commentary on a match that was on the KVE tribute show. I have Bart vs Kerry on tape but it wasn't from ESPN. They could have shown that match on ESPN too but I'm probably wrong. I don't remember Chris Adams really showing up until the post-ESPN shows, and don't remember Kerry wrestling on an ESPN GWF show, just doing commentary. Was him vs. Bart seen on the syndie/Dallas version (seen here on SportsChannel)? I also wonder...was Kevin/Chris vs. Freebirds from the Kerry memorial ever shown on TV? Does any footage exist anywhere I seen it on Sports Channel also they may have shown the match 2 weeks in a row instead of on ESPN. I think I have around 5 of the Von Erich tribute matches on tape. All the matches had to have been recorded probably just not shown. OK, I remember Price vs. Putski, Kongs vs. Simpsons, Knapp vs. Porteau, Robinson vs. some other jobber, and I think Stevie vs. Mantell? Did any others make it to air? The match you mention being seen 2 weeks was Kerry vs. Bart, no?
  13. I was intrigued by the Sleepaway Camp II cover, with Freddy's glove and Jason's mask in Angela's backpack
  14. Mel Blanc's last role was in Jetsons: The Movie. Mr. Spacely is great as always, but not everyone has fond memories of the movie itself.
  15. His stand up blows but he's great and touching as Mater. Kind of a thread hijack, but I love how Professor Z is actually the guy who played Fegelein in Downfall.
  16. This. It would be like the smartasses who vote Owen Hart when people ask about worst wrestling botches. EDIT: can we disqualify Brandon Lee similarly?

  18. Him and Jerry Seinfeld did a YouTube video at the diner a few blocks away from my home. I met Joel at a Cinematic Titanic show, along with the other CT members/former MST3K cast. Again, a pleasant experience. I remember Joel saying that he never watched any of Mike's episodes...
  19. I lucked into the TD version of Blood Beast, as CC accidentally showed that one on the Sunday night airing of that same week. Nah, to me, the NJN stuff was my bigger nemesis by far as far as not getting complete episodes.
  20. Classic CC ads I remember from my MST3K tapings: - One of those Classic Commercials VHS sets: "He's here! My mystery date!" "Open the door for your..." (sigh...) "...mystery date!" - The Day-O parody for Kato Kaelin - "Lucy and Ethel, Thelma and Louise, and now, Patsy and Edina!" How was I to know that those women would mean so much to me some 5 years later? - Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher (always saw the one with Roseanne on the panel) - My taping of "Santa Claus" has several plugs for one of the Naked Gun sequels. And "SC Conquers the Martians" the Car 54 movie. - Frutopia (I mean, the original ads with the kaliedoscope background and the slogans) - The MST3K Fan burial spots ("We listened to your whining" and the marathon where they showed S1 eps. against Best Brains' wishes, and Joel is the "fifth Bot-tle" and Erhardt is "Fake Frank") Not CC related, but back in the mid '90s, Comedy Central shared a channel with NJN. As such, I lost the first segment on many of my midnight tapings, and also got accustomed to the end credits of Are You Being Served? (again, 5-6 years before that would mean more to me), and the NJN sign-off, which included this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dS_3H2UtRSI
  21. Agree about KTMA...basically they were just showing the movie with a comment thrown in here and there.
  22. As for all the debates about cast changes, I think MST3K is a show that stayed strong despite the changes over the years.
  23. Pod People. Also the home of the Potato Soliloquy.
  24. Starting to rediscover SSM on Vortexx...I assume no censoring was needed on the reruns, as the show originated on CW anyway?
  25. Hi Gallagher, welcome to our board! Seriously, you can't lose with either host, IMO.
