  1. He even talks exactly like Frank Grimes!
  2. From what I read I was expecting the Saraya promo to be much worse and thought it was basically OK delivery-wise etc, but that said "your name rhymes with shit" is an all-time terrible zinger Some v good Deeb content over the past few eps Claudio carrying Parker away one handed like a naughty child ruled
  3. Some sims from TGS here. Some targeting and AI jank to hopefully tweak, but it's looking good imo, liking Rosa's moveset Cole vs Wight was actually a p good big man vs little man match before descending into a somewhat implausible finish, shows off some weight detection and some damage selling by Cole after hitting a move himself Also some evidence of catching springboard counters and flash roll ups as ground counters
  4. He's over and his matches are good
  5. It's extremely amusing to me that Cornette somehow thinks Rollins is a great pro wrestler and Omega is the worst to ever do it, at the same time
  6. Is your belief that this is a work a work?
  7. I would think the problem is not whether there are people he could work with down the line, more that the company absolutely can not let him or Ace Steel get off unpunished, but if they do punish them Punk will never forgive them or work with them again
  8. Khan needs to get Haku barging into a mandatory talent meeting like this guy ALRIGHT YOU LISTEN UP YOU LITTLE FREAKS: THIS IS ONE EXECUTIVE VP OF TALENT RELATIONS YOU'RE NOT GONNA SCREW AROUND WITH ...Tony Schiavone!
  9. God can you imagine Excalibur having to enthusiastically put over CM Punk as a beloved babyface after this, he'd probably top out at "arguably...a good...wrestler!"
  10. Yeah, the DDT didn't feel like a very convincing killshot, don't know if doing two in a row just made it seem like a vaguely impressive shine spot you'd expect a near fall from
  11. I'm beginning to think that Punk shouldn't have agreed to go on Cabana's podcast
  12. Yes, Mr Sherman. Everything's a work.
  13. Did anybody not picture Brandon Cutler trying to defuse the situation by capering around ineffectually in a zubaz jumpsuit spraying deep freeze in the air wildly
  14. No, I think some people decided he must have just donated to that stuff by accident because they were enjoying his work at the time
  15. Interesting that Kenny's been quoted as saying both "I'm not satisfied yet, it needs more polish" vs "we're close to wrapping it up" recently. I wonder if they're just coming up against the commercial reality of needing to get it out, and preferably in the late year timeslot where it's occupying the space vacated by WWE 2k moving to spring, as opposed to competing against it I did read some hands on previews from Gamescom saying the game was jankier and had worse hit detection than the video preview suggested, but I did wonder if they'd just preserved the built-in jank of the AKI games where you couldn't interrupt the animations of guys slowly getting up etc even if you were swinging a chair or coming off the top rope
  16. I can definitely see how the MJF angle has been overshadowed by events, but there is something really next-level prosaic about seeing Best Friends vs Death Triangle announced for Dynamite, like that feels like it's from a different universe at this point I don't feel certain that Punk being a babyface is now impossible, feels like a big chunk of the audience is going to just want more of this scandalous stuff, he's just going to be reduced to this "say the line, Bart!" type caricature where people want to pull his string and have him spout loads of invective so they can pop for it
  17. If any aspect of this is a work, Tony will at some point snap and confirm it via a twitchy 14 minute promo about how they told a great story using these real life issues as a basis, in response to a semi-related question, or perhaps even in a twitter post
  18. When the price of AEW+ went up earlier in the year, Fite said that as a bonus they were giving people 2 bonus credits a month so they'd be able to get a free PPV out of it if they stayed subscribed; then this month they just cancelled it with no notice before anybody had got a chance to accrue the 20 credits required to fund an AEW PPV, and said it was only ever a temporary thing to ease people into the price increase I am now proudly sitting on 18 worthless space dollars which will gradually waste away every month because they're only valid for a year ??
  19. I don't think the animations in this game are mo-capped? They might use some old retooled previously mo-capped stuff they own but I thought I'd heard that this stuff was traditionally animated The original report on this was so vague and garbled I wouldn't necessarily be confident that FTR were definitely taken out because they're going to be DLC, as the DLC plans may not be as scaled up and extensive as the WWE games are it'd still be weird for wrestlers that aren't on TV much like Yuka Sakazaki and Abadon to be in but for FTR to not be tho
  20. This looks decent, like an actual logical evolution of the vpw2 engine rather than just a straight 1:1 cover, nice to see that they had more flexible special moves options including the corner to centre Boom knee thing and apparently the v trigger to an opponent slumped on the middle rope. I was never actually a fan of the AKI "taunt to get a finisher for a few seconds" system as applied to American wrestling, as it takes all the surprise out of a lot finishers that are better hit as a sudden counter. Maybe there'll be a way to store a slightly less powerful one or something. I'm totally OK with this not trying to be a "you can download every created wrestler and have custom arenas and book a whole promotion" game as a first attempt, just happy that they seem to be able to have a reasonably big, current roster and have a deep pool of signature moves available from different positions so fighting styles seem varied and matches can go in different directions Looks like they could do with slowing down some animations and adding some more pins, ideally including some pin combos and the old slumping one armed exhausted cover Also don't know if there has been much footage of reversals, but I assume anyone worth their salt overseeing a resurrection of the No Mercy glory days would have insisted on a good reversal system as one of the first things on the to do list
  21. There was a really fantastic bit of inane Tazz commentary during the main where he said something to the effect of "Ospreay's a freakin...freak! I don't give uh...uh rat's ass what anybody says, dis guy's a STUD", like yeesh settle down Paulie Walnuts
  22. Yeah, is there a reason he thinks cataloguing all of these every episode is somehow interesting?
  23. I mean shouldn't they be trying to make their product appeal to more than 969,000 hardcore-ish wrestling fans though? "the small, stagnant pool of people who regularly watch our product don't care about the women that much so what can we do ¯\(°_o)/¯" feels like it's missing a trick I know they've been down on star power due to injuries but I don't know if "randomly booked dream matches between AEW guys and New Japan/RoH guys" was the best way to style it out, and also the OTT style they have most people working causes a ton of the injuries!
  24. This was obviously the result of some internal "how many decibels can you get out of Cornette this week" challenge Yuta's delivery on his promo was extremely Grimey imo, was expecting the stream of I CAN BEAT CHRIS JERICHOs to be capped off with BECAUSE IIIIII'M HOMER SIMPSON
  25. Is Cody now suddenly dependent on maintaining the goodwill of the guy whose throne he smashed
