Uh, not even close. Bubba tonight looked like he had just eaten D-Von. He didn't look too fat. I'd still love to see him with the Bully gimmick, not the Bubba thing. I know he wouldn't be main eventing or anything but as a solid mid-card heel act, it'd be great.

I missed the first half hour but the rest of the show until DB's elimination was pretty cool. The 3-way was awesome and Rollins came out looking real good and less of a loser. Brock is still the man and I'll miss him. That Rumble though. I loved seeing Bubba. If there was one guy who deserves another shot in the WWE, it's him. He is in the best shape of his career and has looked and sounded amazing since going solo. Stick him with the Bully Ray thing and he'll be ok. Vince basically sought out to destroy every wrestler Philly liked. The place was destroyed when it was revealed that Bryan was an afterthought. I get him not winning but at least, keep him in there until the end. How hard is that? Let's try and send Philly home as happy as possible. Vince doesn't like Bryan but a lot of other people do. Vince, stop booking for yourself and your homoerotic fantasies (like Vince is reading DVDVR, right?). This match was booked as bad as it could have been and Reigns didn't even stand out to me during the match. He was just the guy that was booked to win. I'm not really convinced he is ready for such a big push right now. I was on the fence until tonight.

I can't imagine Reigns and Brock will end up a classic either.

I'm back with the start of a retrospective on Bob Backlund's career!

I started the Tough Enough shows, and it was totally obvious that Maven was the standout. Josh Matthews reminded me of Orin from Parks and Recreation. I remember rooting for him so bad when this originally aired and being disappointed when he lost but now he seems like just a skinny smart mark who can barely flip into the ring. All the auditions were basically horrible except maybe Nowinski and a couple others including of course, Maven. As soon as he stepped into the ring he presented himself amazingly well. It was also a trip seeing ODB there since I had no clue she was on this show. This show also became the Kevin Dunn show, for me. I got a real kick out of seeing him but he didn't really do or say anything too stupid. He did a little mouth breathing and his teeth looked horrible but that's about it. I'll probably watch the next episode soon.

What exactly is the context of this?

Being a mid-card heel is really not a good position for most guys in the WWE. You're going to put over a ton of people and won't get protected much. How many mid-card heels have been protected in the last couple years? Bray has been pushed to the side a few times and Rollins is basically a giant loser who can't win a match, even with a ton of help. Hell, he couldn't beat a fucked up Ziggler at Survivor Series with two partners. Rusev has done well but who knows how long that will last.

I recognize that gif! In all seriousness, how cool would it be if someone like Cesaro used the Gotch Lift today? I imagine he could pull it off.

Could they have been any more conspicuous than in this pic? All they need to be holding are some bottles and syringes and they would be set.

I have to be honest, I think a gimmick with a mask might be better for Neville than just coming up as the character he is on NXT. Don't get me wrong, it has the potential to go completely wrong and end up along the lines of El Torito, if we're going by what Dave wrote. Still, the guy isn't the greatest talker, he's small, and doesn't come across like a major superstar, right now. He is great in the ring but that doesn't matter and never has with Vince. If a masked gimmick ends up working, it will work out tenfold for this guy, compared to his current status.

Just finished the Thesz book today and I loved every minute. I haven't read the "Thesz Sez" section yet but it looks good. I just bought the Hornbaker NWA history book and I was anxious to start that before finishing every inch of the Thesz book. I'm already kinda confused with some of the title changes that Hornbaker mentions in the first chapter.

I buy most of mine on the Kindle actually. I think the only stuff I have in physical form is the WWE Encyclopedia and Death of WCW, along with a few of the old WWF/WWE hardcover bios from days gone by.
