  1. It will be awesome, if Tony Khan, Cody, or whomever is making these decisions decides to pitter patter their feet and get there before we all die of old age. I was as big a fan of Fire Ant as anyone, but, when I first saw this Hands in his Pockets nonsense, I wanted to scream. It's stupid indy garbabge that has it's place in comedy matches involving Ebessan and Stoker Ichikawa. It's not the kind of thing that will play to the casual and lapsed fans that AEW needs to try to convert. My 62 year old father saw lie down on the floor after the dive sequence a few weeks back, and promptly sent me a text asking "who is this asshole?"
  2. Well with the buzz that this show is creating, it'll be interesting to see what next week looks like. But, if it doesn't jump, then it's a good indication that 900K is the ceiling. I honestly don't know what else they can do to drump up higher numbers.
  3. I think Daniels is too. Just for that spokesman saying over the mic “Where is Christopher Daniels?”
  4. Yes they did, JR even got in a comparison to Dr. Death last week. I was waiting for another one when Cobb did the Stampede.
  5. None taken, that’s why I tried to qualify it as “one of the few” benefits, if you want to put the strap on Dr. Baker, and not hurt Nyla’s aura. Personally, I hope Nyla keeps it for awhile.
  6. I think her promo last night showed that Nyla doesn’t need a mouthpiece.
  7. That’s one of the few benefits of three way matches. Give Nyla a couple of months to run roughshod over the division, and Britt can win a three way match without going over Nyla directly. Does this Schivone/Britt thing make anyone else think about Michael Cole and The Miz?
  8. Two weeks ago when Dark Order offered a spot to Orange Cassidy, he put his hands in his pockets, and then got beaten down. Last night, he put his hands in his pockets, and the Bunny nutted him. Can it be that the new trend is that hands in pockets lead to harm befalling him?
  9. That's the result of having PPV's every few months, instead of having PPVs or "Network Specials" every couple of weeks.
  10. I think it was JR, but it might’ve been Tony. Jake Roberts squash on WCW Saturday Night, Roberts does the DDT and JR says something like “Jake the Snake with the D…D…T” with the DDT being in exact rhythm with the referee’s count.
  11. Gary Capetta did the best announcement for Sting. “This…is … STING!!!!!!”
  12. I remember an episode of WCW Saturday Night with Disorderly Conduct against Mike Enos and someone, maybe Bloom. Lee Marshall declared it the battle of the Mean Mikes.
  13. 10/19/94 at the Knickerbocker Arena (now Times Union Center) in Albany, NY. Included on the Wham Bam Bodyslam video.
  14. Ranger Danger wasn't associated with the WWF. He was a TV personality on the Albany, NY FOX Affiliate, if you look closely you'll see the microphone says FOX 23 on it. He did a ton of dumb skits like that in the early to mid 1990s in the mornings and afternoons, when Fox was showing kid programming. He was a radio DJ who was charged with DWI, and doing Ranger Danger was his community service.
  15. NXT had that going on for a bit with Cameron Grimes.
  16. That had to be one of the biggest disconnects for a wrestler and his theme music. The theme they gave "Rock Rock Till You Drop, Rock Rock Never Stop" Marty Jannetty in 1998 would have been perfect for Benoit.
  17. The only thing that sounds wrong to me is "maybe."
  18. I'm thinking that MJF wins when Arn turns on Cody. The Andersons seem to have a history with turning on the Rhodes'.
  19. Maybe the old standby that Santana and Valentine made famous, where Cody is climbing out, and he kicks the cage door into Wardlow's head to keep him from getting out the door. Has it been implicitly stated that Cody has to win in order to get the PPV match? They can always do the finish of the towel being thrown in to save Cody from eating a pin. Or, MJF can nut shot Arn and throw in the towel, so the ref think it was Arn and screw Cody that way.
  20. The North American Title match didn't do much for me. Although, I have to give them both props for being able to move around like for being such big guys. I fucking loved the women's street fight. All I could think about was Foley and Funk's scene in 'Beyond the Mat' with Terry saying "The more you hurt each other, the more money you make. The more money you make, the better friends you are!" The ending sucked, but I supposed they needed an out since Teagen had beaten her on TV already. Finn vs Gagano did nothing for me. These two combined didn't show one percent of the emotion that Dakota Kai or Teagen Nox did, until toward the end when Finn found his grove and seemed like he wanted to end Johnny's career. Cornette is exactly right about Gargano, he only has one facial expression. I liked the women's title match, it felt competitive and had a clever finish. I really liked the tag titles match, especially with the teases of Dunne and Riddle losing because of miscommunication. I was expecting Riddle to turn heel on him, and make Dunn look like the UK Sting. Adam Cole is one of my favorites, but I'm beyond done with these same thirty minute and longer main events. They've been having them since the first Gargano vs. Ciampa match, which was almost two years ago. They could have gotten one up on AEW by having the Panama sunrise on the floor lead to a finish for Cole, since the All Elite boys seem to want to run that spot into the ground. But, instead they just kept going, and after too many teases of too many better finishes, they went with the ref bump and rebooting Johnny vs. Tomasso for what feels like the umpteenth time. If nothing else, the way Mauro kept yammering about how many days Cole had been champion made me look things up, and he's about a month shy of toppign Finn Balor's record, which makes me think that he's going to break it, since the next Takeover is 'Mania weekend in April. The Cole fan in me is OK with that.
  21. Don't forget, Josh was also kid during the Road Warriors heydey, years before he got into pro wrestling and MMA, so I"m sure that's part of why Hawk made the list. I'm a little perplexed that such a top heavy list for shootstyle doesn't include Fujiwara.
  22. Apparently, the marked improvement over AEW's TV shows and their overall product seems to coincide with Tony Khan taking on a more hands on role in the creative area.
  23. Something else that I just thought of. They can always have Jericho/Inner Circle screw Mox out of the title, and build up to the various people with issues with the Inner Circle (Mox, Dustin, and Darby so far) banning together to set up War Games The Match Beyond at Double or Nothing.
  24. Statlander was in the backstage segment with Nyla. Britt, Bunny, Statlander, Leva, and Swole were all backstage when Nyla and Kenny had their discussion. The premier of Survivor, and also Chicago PD probably had an impact on the viewership, because PD was coming off a big cliffhanger last week.
