  1. WWE uploading one of the classics onto YouTube: Among the moments.. 5 elbow drops, a shoe shot that’s paused because as we recall from 1996 WCW, women’s shoes are lethal, Warrior talking to his hands, Warrior pinning Savage with a foot on the chest, and also a variety of crowd shots of Elizabeth that lead up to the big moment at the end where every crying woman in the arena got on camera also a match with Bobby Heenan veering between neutral and heel commentator a very sports entertainment sort of match
  2. cut to the most insane Kentucky booster needing to be told why they can't fire Calipari to bring back Rick Pitino
  3. guess we'll see on Saturday if KU needing referee help to beat Samford is gonna be ominous for KU/Gonzaga
  4. When I read the first tweet, I thought that PS was just joking that he didn't know that Terry was under a mask
  5. would have never guessed that and i'm someone who didn't notice the "Eddie Murphy, eat your heart out" lyric in "Living In America" for years
  6. Just saying, Zaga in years where they're a little down going into the tournament is a force It's like picking against Izzo or Boeheim in a year when their team didn't deserve to make the tournament
  7. good news for people who own futures in Kentucky sports talk radio
  8. 1980s Terry Gordy came off a bit like Mongo from Blazing Saddles
  9. this Texas/Colorado State game makes me think that some teams need to recruit as least one dude who can rebound all the shitty shots that their team shoots
  10. "Before I Let Go" by Frankie Beverly & Maze and "The Payback" by James Brown was a pretty neat back to back songs on the radio as I was driving down the highway around noon today. Not enough traffic to make it hard for me to groove while going 50+ as James Brown just shouts out phrases that would make for an amazing surreal wrestling promo ("I'm mad", "I want revenge") I first heard "Before I Let Go" during the time that Billy Hamilton played for the Royals and one of his 2/3 walkup songs was that song and it was way too cool a song for a guy who really didn't do much with the bat
  11. I don't think that Terry Funk's early 1997 WWF cameo overlapped with the Terry Gordy Executioner run. Also, the Mick story about Terry Gordy in IWA was pretty much from his book so switching from noting how Terry was limited to shielding his identity later would have been a surprise I don't really remember that part of the book though or if it would have happened in 97 or 98
  12. somehow Kevin Sullivan never got enough creative control to do an overt MKULTRA gimmick (when he wasn't trying to be Manson)
  13. awaiting the findings of the investigation into the 2nd half of Dayton/Nevada by internet gamblers who picked Nevada
  14. "you mean that money wasn't being sent to Grambling State?"
  15. like Congress would move that quickly without some sort of "you get something, we get something" deal that is almost impossible to pull off these days
  16. I did get to use Eddie Cicotte in the Immaculate Grid today because of the Ohtani translator news (a bunch of other people also used it, so I just conceded trying to get a low rarity score on IG today)
  17. Sister Jean picking against Tennessee in the first round is some real "104 year old nun does knows better than to expect Rick Barnes to redeem himself" stuff
  18. before someone else posts it, I'm pretty sure I just heard that they have a designated successor at Duquesne for next year anyways, Duquesne beats BYU
  19. Terry Gordy’s WWF stint was at the end of 1996. It might have seemed later from the documentary since they aired the RF Shoot from 98 first. In the scheme of things, it would have made more sense for a guy named Doctor Death to try feuding with the Undertaker as a monster of the month, but I’m guessing that’s not what JR would have wanted to do with Steve Williams even if Doc was in ECW around the end of 96.
  20. I’m sure there’s a bunch of reasons why this won’t happen but Duquesne and Long Beach State playing at the same time gives me the idea of Monson going to Duquesne. I doubt that for a few reasons. Including his age and the distance from the west coast to Pittsburgh. I don’t think coaching at a Catholic school (Gonzaga) necessarily means getting another Catholic school job 25 years later.
  21. Well the two games drew just under 16000 on both days
  22. I’m sure it’s been addressed somewhere but I’m guessing the Korea games are at the Gocheok Sky Dome (16744 seats) instead of a larger stadium like Jamsil Baseball Stadium (25000 seats) due to the roof and not wanting to get rained on?
  23. Got another conference move. UT-Rio Grande Valley is leaving the WAC for the Southland Conference.
