Earthquake and Jos LeDuc as lumberjacks was Plan F for the Quaker (yeah I know LeDuc's brief WWF run did not line up with Quake being there) also, I can see how trying to get into the WWF at the end of 2001 was baaaad timing since there were a lot of people trying to get in there guessing that Quake's only opening to go into ECW involved being willing to job to Spike Dudley -

in the spirit of "more upsets"... a gimmick where a wrestler can only win upsets, but he will lose to lesser guys because he's favored -

20 minutes of Earthquake dark matches: https://youtu.be/00KQGR2NuDg?si=Vsk_wX8rm2ZrgAf- John Tenta with a killer belly to belly. interesting managerial pairing/music for him in the second match as he looks like he could be part of a flannel tag team/trio with Ottman and Mike Shaw and his 2001 dark match -

Things I Remember from this episode of AEW Dynamite: Collision, special night, special network quite a bit of talking at various points I didn't watch the entire MJF segment but it's my understanding that babyface Sammi blows Ricochet vs Briscoe should be fun Samoa Joe just hiding to attack some guys as we got the traditional schmozz before the multiman match at the next show Gabe Kidd looking like he ripped his look from Mike Ehrmantraut -
A friend of mine who I've known since 2nd grade posted about George Wendt being a friend/mentor to her in her acting work (they had lunch around twice a month and he saw her one woman show when she was in LA). We kinda go hard on the local angle for 'our' celebrities in this part of the country. George was also the uncle of Jason Sudeikis, who is part of a crew of KC-area celebs who do an annual charity event for Children's Mercy (Big Slick). So that came up and also George graduating from college in KC (Rockhurst). It's closer to "Ed Asner, he's from here" than "Tony Dow, you know, Wally the older brother from Leave It To Beaver, he married a woman from here" for our local angles. We're not in the business of shunning the people with ties to the area who are famous. To put it one way.

I won't go too deep into the "Daffney got her action figures in the settlement with TNA" without knowing who suggested that part of the deal. Daffney really ran into two things that really weren't understood that well at the time, mental health and concussions, and not to be glib about it because they essentially said the same thing, but it turns out concussions are even worse when you have bipolar disorder. Devon Storm looking like he could get work playing a nu-metal musician in a movie these days. Like if they needed a guy to be in a Law and Order episode as a knockoff Andrew WK, I think Devon Storm has the looks for the role. Devon is still wrestling, BTW. Mick Foley still among the several people in wrestling whose relationships with female wrestlers is wholesome. Also for some mysterious reason, my taping of this episode was 90 minutes so I turned down a chance to watch the program that airs after DSOTR on Vice. Royals had a game in SF. -
The Natasha Lyonne Criterion Closet video (https://youtu.be/sNUAkiIoTFk?si=wYQdF_n62b6M_zUt) inspired at least one redditor to make Jamie Hayter comparison in regard to look

from the 4/29/96 Nitro posted on YouTube today, gotta love how they had one cop hanging out keeping an eye on Regal/Bruiser just in case things got out of hand... also they got a pretty healthy crowd out there to watch it -

there's probably a huge venn diagram overlap between the people way into Saraya/Paige and people who were way into emo/goth/scene girls in the 2000s (or the 2010s evolutions of that) so that group of 'interesting' men is maybe a little distinct from people who have went all-in on their Asian fetish -

gonna have to check my home for a gas leak after one of my dreams included seeing a listing for a post-Halloween Havoc 95 match listing where there was a three-way tag team match with Sabu and Mongo McMichael as one of the teams -
seeing Misawa wrestle Sabu feels like the sort of matchup that some people would have sold their kidney for in the 90s it might be a Misawa/Bret Hart in 1990 thing where it'll never be as good as you imagine
-
If there’s any place where Sabu’s early match leg dives and amateur wrestling spots could be more fun than usual, it’s 1990s AJPW Here are some of the teams that Albright/Sabu wrestled: Kawada/Taue Ace/Dr Death Akiyama/Misawa Hansen/Omori Kobashi/Patriot Kimala II/Izumida Take your pick on which matchup you wish aired in full on AJ TV

I had thought for years that Darsow didn't use the name "Pain Stewart" because the golfer died, but Payne Stewart was still alive when they opted against that gimmick name -

Darsow was amazing for having at least 4 different characters where you could have problems figuring out it was the same guy Barry Darsow might be the closest thing wrestling had to a character actor WWE Vault uploaded HHH/Rock Iron Man: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_VLhPF1Jx1c and WCW uploaded the full Clash 6 with Flair/Steamboat: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yo8BYMFGIFM -

I love how they're simultaneously running vignettes for both members of 1990-91 Demolition and acting like they weren't on WWF TV a year earlier (with Crush not even having a new ring name)
