Terry Gordy’s WWF stint was at the end of 1996. It might have seemed later from the documentary since they aired the RF Shoot from 98 first. In the scheme of things, it would have made more sense for a guy named Doctor Death to try feuding with the Undertaker as a monster of the month, but I’m guessing that’s not what JR would have wanted to do with Steve Williams even if Doc was in ECW around the end of 96.

I’m sure there’s a bunch of reasons why this won’t happen but Duquesne and Long Beach State playing at the same time gives me the idea of Monson going to Duquesne. I doubt that for a few reasons. Including his age and the distance from the west coast to Pittsburgh. I don’t think coaching at a Catholic school (Gonzaga) necessarily means getting another Catholic school job 25 years later.
