Your 2013 INTERNET MATCHES OF THE YEAR RESTART
Cobra Commander replied to DEAN's topic in The PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING
For your consideration https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YYLnA1drzAQ Akira Taue's retirement match: Akira Taue / Takeshi Morishima / Takashi Sugiura / Genba Hirayanagi v. Genichiro Tenryu / Tatsumi Fujinami / Masao Inoue / Kentaro Shiga. Not sure it'd be conventionally good, but more of a last goodbye kind of match for Taue. Also, he's not the oldest guy in his retirement match -
The Old School Questions thread
Cobra Commander replied to Mr Harms's topic in The PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING
and gave him the York Foundation launch as a result of having to be pushed? the WWF really got quite a few guys from WCW who were in their mid-card in 1990/91. It'd be like one baseball team getting a guy who was in AA with his former team and then turning him into a hall of famer. -
The Old School Questions thread

So, with late 1990 NWA/WCW being on YouTube again... WCW basically pushed the Nasty Boys and Michael Wallstreet, only to see them both immediately leave for the WWF? (checked.. the Nastys were in WCW on December 1st and the WWF on December 11th. Rotunda was in WCW in February 1991 and the WWF by April 1991) Then again, maybe WCW pushed Rotundo as Wallstreet and eventually realized that he had the charisma of Mike Rotundo -

I don't have cable but I get this channel (only on the tv in the living room but not the bedroom for some reason) and the selection of movies they play is WCW Worldwide in its randomness. They play some decent stuff though, or at least movies that I like enough to want to watch in the middle of the night. Saturday nights are kinda under-appreciated for the amount of random movies airing on network affiliates. I noticed that after realizing the CBS station was showing Wagons East from 2:30am to 4:30am.

before tonight, I was unaware of a BounceTV affiliate in my area. I realized this network existed when I saw they were running Dolemite and Human Tornado back to back starting at 1am. Tomorrow night they're running Blankman and Brian's Song back to back in the middle of the night for an attempt at the biggest transition between two aired movies ever.

Wrestlingdata has 12 Gambler wins in 81 matches. Unaired WCW wins over Chad Brock, Randy Starr, Hog Hoggins. Some wins from his stint in the USWA. A win over Mike Winner at Center Stage 1994. The Scott Studd Match we saw might be his only WCW televised win The same site also claims his last name is "Gamble"

is Ashton Kutcher's best performance still Butterfly Effect? (yeah, some of that movie kinda seemed more absurd in 2013 than when I first saw it in 2004)
-
the Superclash 3 announcers or WCCW announcers? just asking since the WCCW also claimed that a "Sumo Ref" screwed KVE out of the title in Japan in 1984
-
coincidentally your free arm is windmilling like Young Satomura running into the corner WCW had such a ridiculous amount of random connections. "We can bring in guys from New Japan, AAA, or random wrestlers from GAEA to fill out our shows if we need to supplement our roster of 300 wrestlers!" So here's some Roadblock v. some guy

aren't most ref-stoppage-for-blood angles usually kinda stupid? How often do they have a ref stoppage due to blood when the bleeding guy is obviously going to lose? they usually do the Maryland Athletic Commission finish instead

The Steve Austin Show
Cobra Commander replied to NikoBaltimore's topic in The PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING
just wait until John Stossel is on the show and Steve asks him about the John Stossel incident. Also, I think Austin is in an exclusive group of people who liked Ole Anderson- 2,944 replies

was searching around Twitter, and this is a solid idea: "i hope on raw next week mark henry still makes his entrance to his own entrance theme, while wearing a santa suit" or at least a Christmas remix of the theme song
-
maybe they'll bring Armando Estrada back now and let him be his actual ethnicity for the purposes of a feud with Cena

The Wrestling Book Thread
Cobra Commander replied to The Green Meanie's topic in The PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING
So i'm reading Harley Race's book on the Google Books limited preview (and thus read about his 5 week cycle of steroid usage with the Bulldogs, and his problems with the 7 abdominal surgeries in 1988/1989. And his short-lived attempt to promote pro wrestling in Bolivia (which didn't go past a taped promo). Reading parts of recent-ish books through the preview is one way to spend a 1am -
Well So that could explain a bit

The Steve Austin Show
Cobra Commander replied to NikoBaltimore's topic in The PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING
yeah, how much writing has been done about the loop stuff for that sort of syndication. I know the Cornette/JR talk on Cornette's podcast mentioned some of their looping stuff for the Mid South TV where they'd have stuff air in Shreveport weeks before it aired in another market. Memphis' TV loop was Memphis.. Nashville.. Louisville and Evansville, right? I'm not leaving out some other Ohio River Market, right? I'd imagine the Evansville editing would be like how cable stations edit 30 minutes out of SNL ------------ I usually FF thru the promos. But I had to stay tuned to the Shari's Berries promo. Haha. Wow.- 2,944 replies

WCW was trustworthy at poking the heel/nWo fans pretty hard too And here's a match between He Who Must Not Be Named and Eddy Guerrero. Or you can fast-forward to 12:30 to see Dean Malenko demonstrate the Texas Cloverleaf https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGbqiMzwoM4 No idea how many Malenko vignettes they did. Have any WWE guys used the Texas Cloverleaf recently?

The What Are You Watching Thread
Cobra Commander replied to jaedmc's topic in The PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING
Fun times with Jerry Lawler and Chris Champion and free hugs from John Tatum -
That would only discuss WWE matches & that format is too slick & overproduced for me. so, what do you wanna discuss? be specific
-
don't we have threads to discuss the matches anyways? in the WWE forum?
