  1. I watched the D'Amore interview with CVV it's ridiculous they let him go especially early in the rebrand back to TNA. It's also head scratching to me that Joe Hendry isn't TNA champion right now. He is getting a NXT title match Sunday. I haven't watched TNA in years but just going by what I've been reading and clips I see on Social media they could be doing much better to get more people interested outside of the luxury of having to work with NXT
  2. When Henry left for AEW , he was very vocal about how he felt he wasn’t valued in WWE and misued toward the end of his run. Early on in his AEW run, he seemed to be happy to finally be out of WWE but his inring run is over. It would have been fun to have him in AEW 10 to 12 years earlier. I think especially with the regime changes the past few years, Henry probably sees himself being the new Gerold Brisco recruiting people. He’s had a pretty good track record without being officially in that role.
  3. I Imagine he'd turn '99 & '00 ECW into a new age Memphis territory. If Heyman knew the lac
  4. WrestleMania 8 was the first show I was ever exposed to even before I became obsessed with wrestling. I remember watching the original recording of the show and me and my Brothers could recite his promos. When he returned in 96 I had just became completely obsessed with wrestling. His charisma was different because it wasn't something that was forced on the people. He kinda got the same treatment that Marc Mero got where it wasn't till he was completely out where people started to talk bout him negatively as a worker. When I heard him talk about psychology, he seemed to have a good grasp on it. He would talk trash to his opponents or to the camera not in the same melodramatic way of some WWE main events. He way the reason I watched my first ECW PPV Living Dangerously 99 because he was on the commercial. I'd never watched a full ECW show at that point but I thought it was surreal to see him in ECW.
  5. I felt like Swerve could have been champion formula much longer but I've felt that way about Hangman too and MJF was probably going to be Champ for much longer if he hadn't got hurt but if we get Nigel vs Danielson again I won't be so down on Swerve losing. Swerve is a much bigger player in AEW than when he won the title which is a big win for AEW. I don't know if Nigel vs Danielson is as big of a dream match for the current audience as Danielson vs Ospreay. They could also give us Mark Briscoe vs Bryan on a PPV and it be a big draw. I didn't really think about how many original ROH guys they can put up against Bryan before dropping it. I want to eventually see Hangman or Swerve back as Champ after Danielson is done because I think it's better for AEW to have someone as World Champion that wasn't World champion anywhere else and have the strongest run possible. Even before the Punk drama was public, I thought it was counterproductive to take the title off him when they did especially since the built towards him winning it from the inception of the company. Bryan is as much of a carny as anyone has ever been, I hope they get out of the retirement stipulation in a logical way because I don't think anyone is ready for him to hang it up
  6. I'm probably the only one here that listens to Rene Dupree's podcast but his episode with Low-ki was really good. I know he's Ultimate Warrior level insane but he was very open about his run in WWE and TNA that I think a lot of you would think is enlightening. He takes wrestling too seriously but I enjoy that approach from some guys because it's not as common as most people that take the entertainment approach which I can enjoy just as much
  7. Part of it is because wrestling culture has always been no matter what you go through don't sell it. You're consider guys/girls if you succeed with and forget about all the "rites of passages " along the way. In other sports some of the stuff Henry was rumored to go through would be unacceptable anywhere else, especially for an Olympian but Wrestling is it's on universe everyone is expected to humble themselves in. Henry even at his age now could kill multiple people with his bare hands with is another reason they probably made him go through alot.
  8. But let's say he does actually believe that, common sense would lead me not to say anything at all. It's not like there's any chance of Vince coming back so why would him defending Vince earn him any favor with Vince. I've listened to interviews and podcasts were guys and girls in NXT that don't even mention his name at all. Guys that probably haven't even had a 5 minute conversation or perhaps never even met him. It would be the safer PR move for most guys to not even mention Vince. Unless you are an Orton or a Cena or even a Seth Rollins. The company seems to be OK with going along as if he doesn't exist which is the safe move. Bret Hart is still under a WWE legends contract and he speaks on Vince as the most detestable human being ever. A guy he consider a father figure of sorts you can't really blame him because his brother died under his watch and he betrayed him in a match after being his most loyal worker for 14 years. Bret is one of the very few top guys under Vinces rulership so say, I don't owe Vince anything. I'm sure every other to guy feels they owe Vince everything. It's a 2 way street. Vince had these guys wrestling 300 days a year. Twice on Saturday and Sundays missing holidays and funerals , funeral of the same coworkers that your traveling down the road with.
  9. Yes but he's been doing Stem cells and rehabbing his injury and been working to get a few more matches in. He was an interesting case when he came back. He was working matches being a mouthpiece for guys and I believe doing agent work until they told him he had to choose one. We're never going to have another Paul Heyman but I think MVP was doing well as the Heyman of the Hurt Business. I can see why Vince put him with Omos. His racism inferences are a bit of a reach but you can't really blame him for feeling a certain type of way about them not letting them put the Hurt Business back together. When you look back and see how the Bloodline turned out or even Judgement Day considering they were put together before both of them. Where would the Hurt Business be if they never split up and even how some of things the Bloodline were doing were similar to the Hurt Business so you can't blame MVP for thinking Hurt Business might be a threat to those other groups. It also kinda sucks for Lashley and he to sit back and even watch the Women's division is starting to add units which is definitely a good thing.
  10. I didn’t want to contribute to that narrative but I wouldn’t blame anyone if they went there. I just remember back when Hunter was getting much more power as COO and Alberto Del Rio got released the first time and he was doing shoot interviews talking about how Hunter had his guys and Vince had his guys and how he was a Vince guy and even in the mid 2010s there was an internal power struggle. It seems even a decade before sometimes it benefited guys being Vince guys and other times Hunter was able to win people over with Vince. I think now it’s just guys that Hunter wasn’t solid on
  11. Yes he seems to be in the same boat as Lashley or MVP where they just aren’t HHH guys. That happens when there are changes in booking regimes. You can think the world of certain talents but they’ll be guys that guy doesn’t make the new bookers cut of guys getting used. As for Omos, I’m not saying he could have been their next Andre like Taker and people like that where saying but I’m just saying they should have done a better chance of trying to prepare him to but in that spot if they wanted him to be in that spot. It’s unfair for people to just put people on the main roster and PPV spots very like time to gain experience and develop. That goes for Omos and people like Jade. Like they do look impressive but they are thrown out there to sink or swim or swim on live television. It’s like the people in charge think people live Pat McAfee and Logan Paul are the norm. They believe they can train anybody to be a good wrestler or have a great match. Keep in mind's that these guys are on a regular schedule and not have the luxury of going over their matches at the PC. It doesn’t matter how good of an athlete you are some people it just doesn’t click as far as being good or decent as a wrestler but we are in an age where people are getting less and less chances to work. Atleast give people a chance to try to get better. Before Jade was in WWE she barely had 40 matches. For someone being placed in that spot she was in , in a company that work rate is at a higher expectation than WWE it’s really unfair for her because she had to deal with fans who felt she was taking up space. Now in WWE she’s working several times a week as opposed to once a month. By January she’ll probably have 3 times the experience she’s had since she left AEW. Atleast AEW is letting Satnam Singh work Mexico. Let people like him work in other environments away from TV and get more time in the ring were you aren’t trying to hide their inexperience
  12. I saw a clip of Muta telling the NXT Gaijin that he wants WWE to bring over Omos. That would be great for him. Omos was just thrown out on the main roster with no real seasoning. I think they should just let him tour over there and get away from the WWE system for a minute and let him work more often.
  13. My wrestling friends on Facebook are cool, for me it's Wrestling twitter that is annoying with the tribalism and everything else when it comes to wrestling. It bothers me on both sides of the spectrum. I want both companies to thrive. We all lived through the business without a number two promotion. I couldn't imagine anyone actually wanting one of the major companies to go out business even if you don't watch. I understand alot of major people and podcasters make a living bashing AEW or even WWE but that's to play to an audience. If either company went out of business they'd have to switch their whole platform lol
  14. It would be stupid to have Ricochet in that match if he’s not going to win. I don’t think you’d want to debut him in a match with a bunch of other people even though a match like that usually have 2 or 3 people who are the focus during the duration of it.
  15. I think they look at it as a way to justify Ortons turn by having Cody so eager to give him a shot before Randy perhaps. Owens has more of a history with Cody by him basically being built up as one of Cody’s closest friends during this championship run. Owens seems to be everyone utility player oppenent as Champion. From Kofi to Roman to Cody as far as a Challenger that even though you don’t expect him to win, you know you’re going to have a great match on PPV. It doesn’t mean anything to the WWE audience but AJ vs Cody got five stars from Backlash. It’s a match I’ll go back and watch again at some point. think Cody’s run will start to pick up steam soon
  16. Gerry Brisco responded to someone on twitter asking if Vince was interested in bringing Kevin in. He responded that there was no interest in bringing Kevin in despite several times people bringing him up over the years. I think he would have been great for their booking team especially before they added all those writers. I imagine after the Radicalz came over it was completely off the table. I’m glad he’s gotten more credit for the NWO angle. Bischoff has a general concept for the NWO but Sullivan did a great job of making the execution of it come across as believable as possible. It was the total opposite of the Dungeon of Doom. I’m happy WWE did a tribute to him and recognized his work. Hunter was obviously a fan of him and was probably the one who made the call to recognize him.
  17. I subscribed to F4W online for like a year. Still value Dave and Bryan’s wrestling takes but I’m not going to spend $15 month to hear their takes. I’ve been working a call center job for almost a year now so I can spend my work hours going through wrestling podcasts like on my previous job. I’m 7 -8 months behind my Between The Sheets podcast. I do listen to clips of the F4W YouTube and I do like when Lawlar , Vinnie and Semprevive is on with Bryan. Bryan isn’t annoying to me because I’m listening to the 9 to 13 minute clips. I don’t watch nearly enough wrestling week to week to justify paying for these guys takes. I listen to Voices of Wrestling’s Flagship every Friday or Saturday to get an idea of what’s going on around the world which is probably a waste of time because I never get to watch anything the recommend watching. If I had the time, I’d probably check out CMLL or NOAH or All Japan on that show. I’ve been listening to Matt Camp a lot too , he gives good insight into how it’s like to work in WWE and he’s a fan of stuff outside of the WWE as well
  18. 4 or 5 years ago New Day went on record saying they one of the Biggest factions to never split up. I put it out my mind of it ever being a possibility of it actually happening even after they've started teasing it. The only way I be okay with them breaking up is if they push Xavier to the moon. I don't know why they split the Emporium. With Hunter putting together all these faction like it's Dragon Gate, I would think he would not dissolve them with out any meaning like Vince did.
  19. He only been wrestling a year now. He probably could work circles around Guerrillas of Destiny and Solo all ready but I haven’t seen too much of his work. He’s got a presence with him that Jacob has. He works at Bookers promotion and he has people like Shelton, Carlito and a few other of his Dads close friends guiding him. He also mentioned he is friends with Dom Mysterio , so I’m sure he has a contract waiting for him. I’d like for him to stick around 6 months to a year because once he gets signed he’ll probably right in the Bloodline and straight in that WWE system
  20. Nattie gets a lot of hate and alot of people don't think much of her as a worker but Nia worked with her alot at her and TJs ring set up before her return and probably still does. They've helped people like Dawkins improve so much. It also shows how the Performance Center training isn't the best at building talent from the ground up. Nia has very thick skin. She handles the criticism well and throws it back at people occasionally on social media
  21. Wasn't Rhea and Cody advertised as well as other Legends like Hogan?
  22. Facts, She risked DQ by teasing using a steele Chair and she did the riptide 2 -3 times without going for an immediate cover. I understand she wants revenge but she wasn't wrestling like she was trying to win her belt back. Even if it's a blood feud, I shouldn't lose sight that the title is on the line. I could also see them thinking she'd look weak if she sold that finish like Chyna when Eddie broke her heart but that's basically the story they've been mirroring. Either way she's going to be a molten hot babyface now if she already is so it doesn't matter. Didn't she have more autograph signings lined up for that signing convention they have going on that includes other big name non WWE Athletes ?
  23. I don’t give them that much credit. What a way to work the smart crowd then. He looked legit pissed like he knew he was hurt and like he knew he wasn’t going to be able to be able to be available for his next spot so if that was a work good on them for coming up with a way to keep him away from any physicality with Roman for now but that landing looked sick. I just talked about how almost every match had a turn or a twist so telegraphed ,so I don’t see them executing something like that that doesn’t seem apart of what they have going forward in an angle or apart of the show
  24. That’s the biggest trade off from the previous booking regime. It started in the Thunderdome era but it was fresh and exclusive to Roman’s matches. Last night almost every match had a melodramatic moment. The only match that had not shenanigans was Braun vs Sami and that was basically a sprint. CM Punk did an interview a few days before basically bragging about how they are able to build an angle around a bracelet. They could’ve found a better way to lead into the finish. AEW gets so much criticism, mainly from people that don’t watch that they don’t tell stories which is not true, especially right now. WWE is going to be leaning to heavy on these stories especially on these Big 4 PPVs where they are going to be looking to pay off angles. I know they are going somewhere with Tiffany attempting to Cash in her briefcase but that match didn’t need that considering almost every match had outside fact surrounding it. This is the modern era now. They want every match to create a moment to use on a promo reel down the line
  25. I loved when Roman came out he didn't stop and soak up the crowd. That is something that really irks me when wrestlers return heel or face. He just walked out focused on business, he kinda soaked it up afterwards but it wasn't like he was pandering for a crowd response. Really good show overall. One criticism was for Rhea vs Liv. I hate that Rhea was willing to get herself disqualified in that match. I understand Liv put her on the shelf for months but if the titles on the line. She should be trying to get her title back. I know it played into the finish but, it took me out of it when she lifted the chair over her head in front of the ref. Devitt turning on Priest most saw it coming but man I bit into it. Priest and Rhea are the clear babyfaces and I know WWE is going to get so much mileage out her as a definative face after pushing her so strong for so long. Priest has come out of this reign very credible. People had a hard time buying into him because his entire run was people expecting him to lose the belt. I think he's built himself to the point to where people to by into him as Champ the next time they decide to give him a run. That match with Gunther was insane. Priest really brought it. I'm excited for Gunther as Champ. Gunther makes everyone work his match. It's going to be fun to see everyone he faces work his style of match as the Champ on RAW. I hope Gunther is Champ forever lol. When Raw goes to Netflix it's probably going to be alot more storyline driven but I hope he is still Champ because he is a guy that is about the match. You don't need a big angle or cinamatic type drama with Gunther. You just look at this guy and you know what he's all about and he'll bring that balance to Netflix I hear people say LA Knight is a mid wrestler or isn't anything special in the ring. I don't watch the weekly TV every week but when I see him in the ring he seems very competent in the ring. He hits everything very clean and smooth. To me he doesn't seem like a guy who is just getting by just off his charisma. This was probably Logan Paul's best match in a while to me. His last few matches seemed very much the same formula. I'd like to see them have another match. This was Solos best match. Everyone seemed let down when it was booked but I knew if anyone could carry Solo to a great match would be Cody and Secondly if Solo is going to be the top heel on Smackdown, he needs to be put in spots like this. If was up to me he would have spent that first year or so undefeated. After Roman left he had to pretend like he hardly lost when he should have been protected until this point. I thought Solo did well tonight. Punk vs Drew was good. Even with the story built around that match people were more focused on if Punk could match it out that match without getting hurt. Even with the Story, Punk was in high gear tonight. I can't wait for Seth vs Punk , even though Punk vs Drew has more legs. That was Nia's best match or atleast one of her best matches on the main roster. I hope they don't split up Tiffany and Nia because then most likely Nia will be the face and I don't think Nia will be a good as she has been as a face in the ring and character wise. Lastly I hope Jacob isn't hurt. Hunter acknowledged he got pretty banged up but they don't know. Hunter at the press conference said Jacob's a special talent. It's good that they know what they have in this guy but I don't think they'll put him in the forefront of the Bloodline dark yet. Liv doing a headbutt in her match got a pop from me.
