  1. So, she doesn't have much to make her seem like a big deal, besides aura because, sadly, beating Skye is not an accomplishment. I hope she (Skye) gets better and her standing improves because she's definitely one of my favorites.
  2. Six man will have to get Darby involved, I would think. I used to hate Seger. I'm still not a fan but this close to Detroit you have guys my dad's age who just love the guy. Had to rebel as a shithead teen. Now, I kinda like "Turn The Page" but the single that really does it is "Night Moves."
  3. When I was in college there was this townie (a term that I eventually embodied so I feel okay using it) named Steve who delivered pizza on his bike because he wasn't allowed to drive. He also loved karaoke as much as I did, meaning I saw him 5 nights a week. He always sang "Turn The Page" and I hated it. At the one bar the dj would play the saxophone lines! (He also did this when another townie, Bruce, sang "All Night Long" which actually ruled) One n8ght we hit two karaoke bars and he was singing the original at one and the fucking Metallica cover at the other. I've never been more mad at karaoke.
  4. For panes, no. Obviously crushed glass. Jericho/Kingston with the barbed wire was on TV too. Fun bloody little match. The women are the ones who've really had some great, violent tv matches though. TK does a great job of booking for the blood suckers.
  5. I'm watching Spring Break 2023 and Mike Bailey has the best Spring Break song for his entrance (Brass Monkey) and STILL manages to look like a dork. I love it!
  6. https://www.youtube.com/live/63pviQktnr8?si=2ZoJWPuuSpTKj8ZR Skip to 3 hours 5 minutes for Matt Tremont vs Mad Dog in a dog collar match I have to start by admitting I was wrong about Tremont being washed. He's still got it as a compelling worker. This match is dumb. That's a compliment. Just two dudes doing dumb stuff to each other for some sickos in a small room. And the sickos watching on YouTube, I guess, but we all know it's the live crowd they're doing it for. I'm jealous of those sickos. This isn't a brawling dog collar match. It's both men meeting in the middle and working a dog collar match like a death match. It doesn't reinvent the wheel but it feels like a wild event because they're throwing chairs right beside fans and the lighting kind of sucks. I enjoyed it. Not moty but solidly a thumbs up. I hear their DPW match is the one to see.
  7. Two quality posters right here, both putting forth platforms I have no choice but to support!
  8. Damo was too busy controlling his narrative to ask.
  9. https://youtu.be/dxBVSGjJ3zc?si=xcBTennKPDvroc1F Wrestlecon SuperShow 2014 I put it on for the main of Steen/Tanaka but am posting for the opening three-way of Cedric Alexander/Trevor Lee/Andrew Everett. Damn fine match and one i think a lot of people here will dig. Be aware, lots of canceled wrestlers on here if you keep going. Plus Striker on commentary, but he hasn't been too bad yet. Edit: i take that last sentence back. Edit 2: Watch the first match and stop if you like your sanity. Striker called either Kelly Skater or Kimber Lee sexy in the middle of their match. This is after skipping a Joey Ryan match.
  10. Only if he manages wearing the Marx glasses/nose combo
  11. He's with FTR but he would absolutely kill in the role laid out above.
  12. Kinda like i said in the All In thread, the idea that a national promotion is running honest to God death matches on tv and ppv is insane. Obviously it's not on Natural's list (or probably anyone's) but we got Nick Gage using a pizza cutter on Chris Jericho. On TV. And if I remember right, a pane of glass too? Just insanity what this company has given us.
  13. Vader and Cactus teaming against the Nasty Boys would probably be insane.
  14. The stadium looked great. Anyone talking about attendance as a slam against at this point is likely doing so in bad faith.
  15. When Swerve is making his entrance, Tony starts talking about how he just looks like a big deal and he's really right. Dude's gear is always on point and he just looks like a cool ass dude. Also, MVP's verse on the Hurt Syndicate theme is very much ass. Not helped by a "live" performance.
  16. I honestly have enjoyed the matches they've done. It's never anything big and like you said, they go out there to work. I wouldn't be shocked to see Big Justice in the ring in a few years (not full time but doing some pre-show bs with his dad)
  17. Omega/Okada was worked really well and if you like their work, it's worth watching. They obviously aren't going to replicate their earlier matches but they adjust to the miles on their bodies well. And of course the Zero Hour with the Costco Guys! Can't miss an appearance from The Rizzler!
  18. Before clicking the thread, my brain was trying hard to fit the title to David Lee Roth's "Just Like Paradise ."
  19. Hey Drew, maybe tone it back buddy. I think you and Casey are always gonna be on a different page here.
  20. I just* watched a Stadium show in America from the second biggest US company of all time and it was headlined by an honest to God death match. I love this shit. It felt like everything served the Beam on this show. Earlier matches weren't out and out wild spot fests. It built to a climax, as a whole, not just in individual matches. Ospreay had a match that I would show to his detractors because he was forced to work differently. The Bucks entrance had me in tears. Mone/Toni was great! The men's gauntlet was okay. I didn't believe anyone but MJF had a chance so I wasn't too invested. The women's gauntlet though was full of wrestlers I could see winning. And that match kind of exemplified the fun aspect of AEW. Everyone was a character, everyone was over and it was just enjoyable. The main...man. overbooked, sure, maybe. I think everything worked though and didn't feel too heavy handed. I'd love to drop a kite to 2010 me, watching IWA MS Prince of the Death matches and let him know that dude who lost the drunken Taipei deathmatxh is gonna headline one of the biggest non-WWE shows ever and basically be doing a similar thing. Great ppv but I hope they never do a 6 hour show again. *Over two sittings due to a misadventure last night.
  21. I was thinking Max Caster. I can just see the bell ringing right in the middle of "Let's go, Max. You're the ......best wrestler alive" with a trail off at the end as the bell is ringing. Bonus points if he does the sad walkoff from Arrested Development.
  22. I thought of the dumbest Casino Gauntlet story: a comedy guy wants in and gets put into a match where the winner gets to be the last entrant. He wins and is so happy. All during the Gauntlet there's a camera getting him freaking out over near falls and surprises. Finally he gets word that he's up. His music hits and he's celebrating and the match ends during his entrance.
  23. If I'm TK, I wouldn't pick up either of those two, not for the wanting to go back, but because neither is up to the level of most AEW women. Shotzi is someone that fits in your GCWs of the world but I don't think she'd stand out in AEW. Same with Elayna. In my opinion, she was never gonna make it out of NXT.
  24. Between Manchester Orchestra on the opening video and Hot Mulligan doing Fletcher's new theme, AEW is getting really emo-adjacent and I love it.
