Do those details include the fact that Jeff Hardy isn't allowed to leave the US? Or did his legal status change recently? I've barely been keeping up with everything else, let alone TNA.
-
This is off topic, but is there anything weirder than the mid-90s Bundy comeback? I mean... excluding the mid-90s Backlund comeback, of course.

I'd imagine Edge's neck troubles were compounded by the 37,000 TLC matches he and Christian were in over the years, too. Also, it should be noted that Reigns and Goldberg were both pro football players, where Edge and Rhino (two spear guys with bad necks) were not. This is pure speculation, but I can remember being taught at even the high school football level that unless you kept your head up on a tackle, you'd be majorly fucked.

That's because of the 22 hardcore titles I'd assume

What Wrestler or Wrestlers Got You Hooked?
Zakk_Sabbath replied to OSJ's topic in The PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING
I don't know if it was the first time I saw pro wrestling, or just my first conscious memory of pro wrestling, but I was 5 years old when I saw Lex slam Yoko on the Intrepid at my uncle's new girlfriend's house (along with the kid who would later, through marriage, become my cousin/best friend). We didn't follow the then-current WWF too much at that time, but became big time fans of Macho, Bret, and Hogan through the Coliseum tapes at our Blockbuster. We didn't really become full-fledged fans until well into 1995 (at which point we were 2nd or 3rd graders, if my math is right). Because of our love for both the Hogan-era through Blockbuster, and the then-current New Generation guys, we later became die-hard every-fucking-week fans once the NWO hit. My aforementioned cousin will never, ever, ever admit this, but his guys were DDP and Raven. Don't tell anyone. -
I thought the line itself was incredibly badass, but Affleck's Bat-voice sounds like Jon from Delocated. Still incredibly excited for the movie, though

That videos absolutely crazy with what's going on, all the coke stuff and whatnot. Also the impetus for me to get shitfaced and call my friends "non kayfabin' motherfuckers" on one particularly notable occasion.

It seems like they just figured that the Attitude Era started with the first RAW in 1998 and went with that. I'm starting my Attitude Era binge watching with the first RAW after WrestleMania XIV. I'd go as far back as Bret's little tantrum when they were taking the cage down in 97. Pillman's got a gun. Lots of good Austin stuff with Owen and Rock too that will be missed out on. Not to mention the sit-down Mankind interview, the Summer of Love and the Cactus Jack debut at the Garden against HHH. Also, the lead up to Kane's debut at Badd Blood is crucial.

Saw something on reddit about Daniel Bryan not working Raw because he's hurt, allegedly per Meltzer. Any truth to this?
-
i hate to be cynical, but maybe putting these episodes up will finally kill the unwarranted attitude era nostalgia. I'm 27. I loved Austin, Mankind, Rock, DX, Taker, The Corporation etc. just as much as anything else, but I also remember Mae Young's hand, Beaver Cleavage, Brawl for All, Jeff Jarrett: woman abuser, and every other shit thing about that time. Maybe this makes me a bad person, but just give me the 97 Nitros and a bunch of b-shows and territory stuff, and I'll be a happy camper
-
I guess it should just be called "Legal" now (dad joke).
-
A lot of this I don't remember seeing as a kid. There's a great Jericho/Arn match on episode 55
-
Jeez, I always knew Hogan's height was worked but he must have lost a few inches with the back surgeries or something
-
Brutal cold has me laid up for the weekend, so I finally jumped back on the Nitro train after #CancellingWWENetwork, pouting for two months, realizing it would be dumb to miss WM for ten bucks after paying 60 my whole life, and subsequently #SigningUpForWWENetwork. I'm into late '96 now-- just finished War Games earlier. It still makes no sense to me that Savage and Elizabeth ended up in the NWO. Part of me thinks he should have helped Sting that whole time he was in the rafters, but it might have killed the "lone wolf" vibe he had. Plus we would have missed out on the awesome DDP matches.
-
Ok this probably makes me a bad person. I love Joey Styles, I've been listening to him call matches since I was 9 years old and first stumbled onto ECW on MSG-- tons and tons of classic matches I've heard out of him--- but forgive me, every time I see his name, all I hear is "He mocks GOD!!"
-
It's a shame Kurt Angle can't pass physicals or whatever, because what a great full circle moment that would be. Kevin Owens would probably benefit the most from that type of debut, though. Not that I don't like the other guys you listed, as any one of them would be great in the role, or they wouldn't have been signed, but I think Owens would be the most believable and get the most longevity out of it. His character just says "anti-Cena" much more than any of the other guys.

The fuck I care about the opinion of some dork from Cleveland/? Love, a Steeler fan PS Miz > Manziel
-
Gosh I wonder what role Barrett will be playing
-
Now, take a guy like me: I cancelled the day after the Rumble, ranted and raved about it here for two months, then signed back up the day before WM because I realized I'd be dumb not to spend a couple bucks on a reliable feed (plus I get Extreme Rules now, too)-- am I counted as a new subscriber? Or did they not make a distinction?

Hahah be flattered, man! Nothing personal, of course. If anything, it's just astonishing to me how long it took me to actually get an account here. I came up with that joke in a high school study hall, IIRC, and I wasn't able to receive the account validation e-mail until like a year or two ago- 2,468 replies

I've never actually seen a Flash Flannigan match but I remember seeing his name in PWI so much back in the day that I thought he was eventually going to be a huge, huge star alongside Reckless Youth and Kevin Northcutt.. -

Confession time: public bathroom hover-shits became known as "Death From Above" amongst my friends because I completely stole it from your username when I started lurking here years ago.- 2,468 replies

Why is it that the hood rat girls I treat less than excellently (not out of malice or anything, I just knew it was going nowhere) text me off the hook months and months later, but the most beautiful girl I've ever seen, who I was a total gentleman with, randomly stops texting me out of nowhere?? Maybe that asshole from VH1 with the furry hat was right.- 2,468 replies
