  1. Do you think not running it on Kickstarter made a difference? I can't remember what platform they used last time. I honestly didn't know it was happening and didn't know where to find it until IGN ran a story on Friday.
  2. Right as I turned to my wife to say, "see they didn't need him, they made that crowd happy just with Randy Orton going nuts." Cult of Personality hit. I'm really just not interested. His time in AEW wore me out, which sucks because he was really having quality matches. Like him vs. Reigns sounds fun, but after all the shenanigans I just don't want Punk around acts I'm invested in.
  3. Eberflus's entire reign in Chicago has been marked with many many fourth quarter comebacks by the other team. I'd rather the team just be terrible from bell to bell than these blue ball nut punches every week.
  4. Detroit has decided they do not want the ball at all.
  5. THe leg kicks are special, but Pereira's left hook is fucking tight, nuclear and can be thrown in a phone booth. He killed Strickland with it. He killed Izzy with it. And he did it to Jiri. Everyone knows it's there and it is unavoidable.
  6. It looked like Jiri was bulldozed on that take down more than he was out. I would've liked something a little more concrete, but I can imagine that Marc Godard was terrified watching these two kaiju popping each other over a round and half. Alex Pereira is incredible though. People talking about Anthony Smith maybe getting a title shot offa some twitter beef - but goddamn these leg kicks might end that man's career.
  7. Feels like Diego Lopes has it all figured out right now. Got caught with a good shot, stayed calm, and then shut it the fuck down.
  8. All I'm asking is that their chins hold up for three rounds. Give me 15 minutes of striker madness.
  9. Main and Co-Main are gonna be sick. Matt Frevola vs. Benoit is probably gonna get fuckin wild. Maybe not a ton of name recognition or well-built drama for an MSG card, but the undercard is full of nasty scrappers. Roosevelt vs. Rębecki. Loopy vs. Ricci. Madsen vs. Gordon. This could be a really fun night. Jiri vs. Pereira is an absolute dream match. Every second is danger. I'm gonna be glued to the screen.

    THE STRIKE

Just want to be specific about the sticking point, from the Hollywood Reporter article. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/business/business-news/sag-aftra-ai-protections-for-high-earning-members-sticking-point-1235638247/ This wording doesn't mean they want to "Scan dead actors" and bring them back from the dead. It's about how they can re-use a scan after the performer, whom they paid to be scanned, has died. Example: I book a big series gig and they're going to pay me above scale, which makes me a Schedule F performer. (Sweet) They pay me extra to scan my appearance. (Sweet) I die after I finish shooting the episode. (Shit) There's no language suggesting that they have to compensate, or ask for permission from my family, when they use my likeness in a future episode that I wasn't booked for. Because I'm dead. (Shit) So it needs to have better language for sure.
  11. I don't think I've mentioned it here, but I produce an actual play podcast called Out of Depth Plays. Each season is 12 episodes and uses a different RPG. Every episode is edited down from a two hour recording session, so their length is usually around 60-75 minutes. I also do the sound design, which consists of music, ambience and sound effects. Yesterday we released the first episode of our 4th Season, which is called Fifty Cent Souls. We're using Call of Cthulhu set in 1950's Hollywood. If any of that sounds interesting to you, you can listen just about anywhere you get podcasts: https://out-of-depth-plays.captivate.fm/listen You don't have to listen to any of the other seasons, as each one is a self contained story. Anyway I'm really proud of it, and people seem to enjoy it, so I'm sharing it here.
  12. If they're going to make the interim title holder defend, which is weird to me, wouldn't it make since to push for Stipe? I mean, if you have an interim champion why run Stipe vs. Jones for the title when Jones comes back? Like are we looking at a potential card next fall, where there are two different heavyweight title holders defending against different opponents on the same night? Heavyweight is a fucking mess.
  13. I certainly don't think it was a "Yeah let's give this guy what he wants: Ciryl Gane." Kinda performances.
  14. Alemda: Did I give you guys a show or what?! Seven people in the crowd that bet on this fight going 25 minutes: YAAAAY Everyone else: ...
  15. Not if you never knew you were in a rebuild to begin with.
  16. Just to play devil's advocate... Dana may have made the right business decision because the stuff Francis was asking for beyond the money, would have set a costly precedent for future negotiations with other fighters. Perhaps moreso than whatever payday they could've gotten from co-producing this fight.
  17. That was incredible. Francis Ngannou, in his first pro boxing fight, took the heavyweight champ to a split decision. Just amazing. It's like real life Rocky.
  18. I just jumped out of my seat. Francis won a round against the best in the world. It could all go downhill from here and not matter.
  19. It's moments like this where you really appreciate how clean a WWE show is executed.
