Nerdy "Did you know..." trivia, because my wife and I did research on these movies for a date night: The Three Musketeers (and Four Musketeers) changed the language of SAG contracts. Everyone in the movie thought they were making ONE movie. It wasn't until it came out that they learned it was going to be two separate films, but they were still getting paid just for the one. Producers tried to pull a fast one. So there was a lawsuit, and now there's a clause in SAG contracts explicitly stating how many movies are being made from the footage you're shooting. The more you know.

I thought it could've been tough, I never thought Weili should've been underdog. She's the champ and she's been in there with some of the best women to ever fight. But anyone could see the difference in levels. Zhang just beat her up every second she could, even when she was on bottom in the first. It's a different kind of mindset.

....Tafa took an elbow to the face and just dropped to his knees and covered up. Ref waves it off. Tafa gets up and tells the ref "You didn't let me defend it." I feel like I never see the Tafa's win. Excited for this Weili/Suarez fight. It's a tough fight for Weili who has been bullying women on her current run.

I also just started chapter 3. I said to myself as soon as I met him that I'd probably by Sun Jian ride or die for life, but I'm not liking everything I'm hearing during these council meetings. Also no one told me how steamy this game was...

Watched the fight, and I picked up on a combination that Imavov threw in the first round that had me concerned for Izzy. It's the kind of combination that Issy is usually clear from by a couple of inches, but this time Imavov was able to close the gap but his right hand glanced off of Izzy's shoulder. It was the same combination he'd throw in the 2nd that put Izzy down. I just think guys are willing to commit that extra few inches to close the gap, and pray they land before Izzy can counter. People thought Jan created a blue print for beating Izzy, but no one could replicate it. Pereira and then Strickland really showed the path for guys like DDP and now Imavov. Paulo Costa and Marvin Vettori were more timid versions of themselves against Izzy and paid the price. I wouldn't write him off as finished, but he has to get his hands on the loser of DDP/Strickland in order to be one fight away from a title. In other news, I thought MVP was a terrible matchup for Shara Bullet and it was. I don't know what they were thinking with that one.

I hate this. Mostly because I'm a jealous, petty Bulls fan still waiting for us to move Lavine and Nikola Vucevic, and I hate seeing other teams get nice things. But also because it's a fucking mess of a trade that makes me less interested in watching basketball. I don't want to see Luka Lakers.

1988. Fright Night Part 2 is probably the biggest out of print horror film right now. It is languishing in distribution rights hell.

Heaven help me there's a Fright Night 2 DVD sitting behind the counter at my local comic/record store. 35 buuuuuucks.

I think I'm at the point in Dynasty Warriors: Origins where its complexities are starting to be revealed.. The weapons, beyond Sword and Spear, feel very different now, and unlocking their potential requires a little more finesse. Then beyond that, the battles are also more strategic about where you go and when you pull back. Because the defeat conditions involve other generals, you can't just brute force all the bad guys on your own - you actually have to think about the map and picking bases to fortify your position. I've definitely gotten sucked in.

I don't get mad, I just get disappointed. All the Spider-Man stuff mentioned in the thread really crushed me as a fan. But I'd still continue to dip in if something was good. The Krakoa X-Men stuff was the most excited I'd been for a Marvel book in at least a decade, but when they took Hickman off to go engineer some other shit, I instinctively retreated from it again. Like my gut just told me not to invest any more time and money into the series because it wasn't going to end well. Probably not a reasonable decision - but they'd burned me too many times before with these creative shifts. I still collect comics, but I generally avoid Marvel. The only book I get from them now is Immortal Thor, which isn't mind blowing, but I like the characterization of Loki and Thor and their relationship. I've tried out a lot of different books and there's just not a lot of writing that really inspires or excites me at Marvel. I'd love to read more books featuring the characters I love, but so many books feel rushed or careless. At this point I'd rather just write or imagine my own stories just for myself than read someone else's.

I don't think I ever played Dynasty Warriors before - maybe the first for a minute- but I started playing Origins for my stream and love it. So satisfying to hit a parry and wreck a general.

It must feel good to help those who are less fortunate.

It actually warms my heart that Lawful Metal still gets these kind of reactions after all these years.
