  1. Scott Steiner, mathematician. THE NUMBERS DON'T LIE, SENIOR JOE. Double J Double M A. Christopher Daniels, appletini enthusiast. The Paparazzi Championship Series. Brother Ray, X Division champion was pretty great too. Ric Flair in a wheelchair.
  2. I wouldn't be shocked if a lot of people expected the Network to fail during WrestleMania and didn't want to deal with that, and stuck with PPVs. As the Network's track record is established I think it'll become more of an incentive. I had the same minor problems - degradation in video, the audio problems during the preshow - but all in all I was very, very happy with the stream. It got to the point that I didn't worry about it and completely forgot it WAS just a stream, which is a big win. I also had a crash on the PS4 app during the preshow, when they were hyping the Andre battle royal - I'm not sure if the stream crashed and took the app with it, or if the app crashed itself, but either way, I killed the app and restarted it and it ran fine from there on. 667K subscribers in just over a month is pretty damn good, especially for unproven tech in the hands of wrestling people.
  3. Neither did his tag partner Yoshihiro Bajiri or their manager Slim Mitchell. Oh man that cracked me up, but I'm out of likes. Bajiri had a sick feud with Super Hazy. Then they tagged and took on Rob Van Gram and Fabu I so want fan art of these two. RVD with more weed and a sparkly Sabu.
  4. I'm not sure which of the three involved in this statement should be the most insulted by it. At least Regal can say he beat the Road Warriors.
  5. Since the Chamber went up today, I watched Wyatts vs. Shield again, then rewatched Wyatt vs. Bryan from the Rumble. Both matches are still amazing, and Wyatt is two for two on having PPV match of the night this year.
  6. I love Barrett in this gimmick. He's just so damn happy to shit in everybody's Cheerios.
  7. Was watching Savage/Steamboat from the same card and was wondering when was the last time someone did the old foreign object in the tights gimmick in the WWE. The hilarious thing was, I'm pretty sure that's exactly how Savage ended up winning the IC title from Tito, a year later in the exact same building. But yeah, I cannot really remember the last time ANYONE legitimately used knux or a similar hidden object. These days it's just using chairs or tables during a ref bump. Which is garbage - the true test of a heel is one that can get it done behind the ref's back. Also, I really liked Ventura announcing the show, but stepping out to try to win the IC title from Tito, then coming back to commentary. In between Old School cards live, they're randomly showing the Taz vs. Bigelow ECW TV title change from Living Dangerously. ECW Taz coming to the ring to the WWF Tazz theme is just wrong. I loved Gorilla giving Ventura crap about how excited he got winning by count out and thinking he had won the IC belt. "You KNOW the rule, Jesse!" The best part was that right after it, Jesse pouted that the rule should be changed, and Gorilla AGREED with him!

  9. Right now, I'm highly enjoying this Bruno vs. Piper brawl on this 1985 Old School card from Boston Garden. Piper gets juice off a ringpost shot less than a minute in and it's an all out brawl from there, with pissed off Bruno just lacing Piper. Orton causes a DQ but Bruno cuts him off and goes for the cast. The heels regroup when Orton's able to get a castshot in, and they beat down Bruno in the ropes. Bruno had a TON of fire even at this point and had the crowd the whole time.
  10. Steamboat was never a heel. He should have never been a heel. Also he was never in the Wolfpac. I think you mean the Latino World Order. However, Rey never did anything heelish with them, even though I'm pretty sure he was the last guy left wearing the shirt once the lWo imploded.
  11. Nah. Under a mask jobbing to 3MB in a match taped for Superstars that you can barely see in the background during the Preshow. Then it gets edited out of Superstars.
  12. Quick story. So my fiance, completely supportive of this crazy wrestling stuff, is trying to learn more about it so she can watch it more with me. She asked me to show her a good example of (she pulls a name out of thin air) Stone Cold Steve Austin. I hit up WWE Network on the Apple TV and cue up WrestleMania 13. FF to Austin vs. Bret submission match, and bam. I just love the fact that I'm now able to do something like that. I also saw the Blow Away Diet again, and that always makes me happy. I love me some Buddy Rose.
  13. Holy shit, this just had clips of Abdullah the Butcher brutalizing a jobber, plus Bill Watts and Dick Murdoch punching the shit out of each other before a really neat finish. (Watts had a bad leg and Murdoch worked on it until his OTHER leg went out. Murdoch whipped him into the ropes and tried a dropkick, but Watts collapsed into the ropes because of the bad leg. Murdoch missed the dropkick and Watts fell on top for the pin.) I. Love. This. Network.
  14. I've been lucky enough that the VOD's been working great for me the last few days. Watchin' Beach Blast '92 right now. Tried watching Bash At The Beach 2000, but, y'know, Mark Madden.
  15. Are you watching it all the way through, or are you trying to skip to it? I've found that there are some PPVs where all the dots are there for every match, and some are missing. If you go to the end of the previous match it may be there, just not marked. This is how it is for WrestleMania X-Seven - Benoit vs. Angle is on the show but there's no marker to seek directly to it. Just a big swath of time between matches where Benoit vs. Angle fits in. It's there, but you have to find it yourself.
  16. You know what'd be awesome? If the live stream for WWE Network started airing old shows in their old timeslots. Thunder on Thursdays! Nitro late on Mondays (after Raw, like you're on a split feed or something). Superstars, WCW Saturday Night and all the varied territory shows on the weekends! Hell, if they can toss in a quick vignette to make WCW Saturday Night start at 6:05 Eastern, I'd love them forever. Not that I don't already - this is already the greatest thing ever for a pro wrestling fan, and it's going to get even better. That's got me almost giddy.
  17. Hey! Bash '91! http://network.wwe.com/video/v31385127
  18. I miss the era when the heel announcer seemed like he was being paid off, or was in on the fix instead of just being an annoying asshole who said the opposite of the other guy by rote. It felt like Jessie had something at stake...$$$$ in the game and that made everything feel more conspiratorial. That reminds me of when JBL absolutely despised MVP when he first came in, but he said that after MVP took him out to dinner and paid for the whole thing, he was now an MVP fan. That was a long sentence.
  19. You underestimate just how big of a mark for Robocop I am. If it were up to me he'd be at LEAST the US champion by now. Well, I guess Sweetser has just been officially outed as being Jim Herd. THE HUNCHBACKS WOULD HAVE WORKED DAMN IT

  21. I just saw Johnny Ace do a dive onto Mean Mark. Didn't expect to see that today.
  22. Watching Havoc '89 and I was struck by how young Woman looks. Then I looked it up - 25 at the time. Yowza. I'm almost afraid to stop the VOD in fear of it not working again, so I'm getting everything out of it I can. So happy that Luger's theme didn't get overdubbed, at least. I loved that theme so much I stole it.
  23. I'm still waiting for Spin The Wheel, Make The Deal to happen again. How the hell does Badstreet USA get overdubbed? They have Michael Hayes right there and they can't at least just record a soundalike with him to use?
