  1. If we can have one playoff season with a healthy Ben and AB this team can do damage. It's amazing how ruthlessly efficient they are on offense - and they don't even miss that idiot Bell. Say what you want about Haley, that dude is to offense what Wade Phillips is to D.
  2. They need to either implement the college "hand it to the ref or else" rule or do away with taunting altogether. Allowing some celebrating but not too much celebrating is idiotic.
  3. Del Rio had the grapfruits on full display there.
  4. So looks like the Broncos can play defense and, uh, just about nobody else.
  5. Unreal. KC's defense plays like hot poop for 3 quarters and they still manage to pull out a tie with 1 minute left.
  6. Glad to see Pitt pull that game out just to shut up the obnoxious PSU fans who think we're "not on their level" to be a rivalry game. Some day PSU fans will realize their days as a prestige program ended with Paterno. Pitt isn't either and won't be until they learn to recruit QBs. Western PA grows them on trees yet Pitt hasn't had a decent one since Alex Van Pelt like 15 years ago.
  7. Just saw the news on the ESPN ticker and am flabbergasted. I don't care how rotten the Vikes QB depth chart is, on what planet is Sam Bradford worth a 1st rounder? Using baseball terminology, he's a replacement level QB (if even). Talk about a panicked overpay.
  8. I appreciate that Bryan and the WWE creative themselves realize how utterly ridiculous the Interplanetary Hertige title is. The two Cesaro matches were good. Rusev was boss. The only real thing I loved on this show was Finn's promo, tho. "I take my name from BALOR, the one eyed scourge of Carpathia. Now fear me as the blood of the demon FANGLOR runs through my veins..." Wrestling needs more of this.
  9. The pop for Bailey was amazing. I know people say this all the time but she's my "If they screw this up, I'll never forgive them" wrestler. I met her a couple times and I really hope she becomes the lady Cena. Sami-KO and the main event were really good. Glad they put over Dean and made Roman eat a Punishment Pin. Orton's promo was....something.
  10. That Cesaro interview was amazing. He's clearly about five weeks away from going Full Punk. JoJo giving her scripted robot question about Steph/Foley only to get shut down and her resulting "oh shit..." face was classic. And people are sleeping on his end rant about "See, I can actually speak" as you know that's what he's heard backstage about his (lack of) promo time. Kalisto aside, I'm more convinced than ever WWE would be a glorious train wreck if they did away with scripted promos.
  11. John Cena is doing a really good job. And his opening monologue pointing out how sports is the same as WWE could've been written by anyone on this board.
  12. FUCK YES!! I know Ambrose is just champion because Roman had to pay for all those record low ratings - and they're probably setting it up for him and Roman to be the lead faces on each brand after the split - but it's still awesome to see Dean win. I only saw the top 3 matches + the girls tag but it was a very good show. Cena-Styles was an epic until the dumb finish. It as almost like a Hogan "job" where they book it so the winner gets nothing from a pin. The MIB was pretty awesome with lotsa cool spots. The main was alright - Rollins worked his ass off but I think it's clear Roman is not very good. Worker wise, 2008 Cena was miles ahead of him. At least they did the right thing by putting Rollins over clean and the cash in sets up a much more interesting main event picture. Well Dean has the ball now, let's hope he runs with it.
  13. Hope this is an omen for a Cubs World Series title in a few months. Just let all the long suffering fan bases off the hook in one fell swoop.
  14. This is surreal. I thought the Pens season was lost at Christmas. Never in a million years did I think this would be the year. After all those years with the Big Two only to fizzle out they finally assemble a team of cast offs and youngsters and it all comes together. So happy for Sid and Geno.
  15. I got the impression Waif sorta let her live. In the recap before the episode they made sure to include the part where Jaqen gave the kill order but added "Make sure she doesn't suffer." We've always been given the impression Waif hates Arya for whatever reason. So I think she purposely stabbed her in a manner that ensured a painful drawn out death. The draw-back being, obviously, there's time for somebody to save Arya. My bet's on the theater troupe. Now why Arya was wandering around without a care in the world and didn't run in terror when a strange woman called her over when she knew the Faceless Men would be coming for her is remains the most completely inexplicable part of that scene.
  16. Once the MegaPowers of the Dothraki and the Unsullied get to King's Landing, I have a feeling dominos are going to fall very quickly. At some point, I think we're going to have the Targaeryns in the south vs the White Walkers in the north with the Starks of Winterfell being the thing that shifts the balance like the great war before it. Which reminds me, the Ironborne are a bunch of dopes but I do like that Euron actually has a plausible plan that ties in with one of our main stories (unlike, say, Dorne, which was a big waste of time). He wants his fleet of 1,000 ships to ferry Dany to victory. That's actually a better idea than whatever noncommittal nonsense Yara was proposing.
  17. Hodor's eyes weren't warged out when he was holding the door so I don't think he was being controlled. He was following Meera's instructions, not Bran's. Which makes the sacrifice more noble since it's choice, not being forced on him. What seems to have happened is Warg Bran in the past somehow merged Kid Hodor with present Hodor and that ended up frying Kid Hodor's brain back in the day. Which I can identify with since Travel storylines make my head hurt.
  18. Third hour was kind of a wasteland but Flair's sell of Steph's slap made up for most of it.
  19. Yeah.... I'm just glad he's gone. The Russos are better in every way. As a diehard Whedon fanboy it pains me to say but they really are. Civil War was so much better than AoU it's not even close. This was the Avengers sequel we should've gotten, not whatever that mess AoU was. I'm late to the party so most of what I wanted to say has already been said. The Zemo thing is funny because I didn't even put him together with Baron Zemo until the very end when his name was mentioned as Watson was questioning him and my first thought was "Oh, they Mandarin'd him." Which actually isn't fair because I really don't mind the change at all. And as far as villains go, I thought he was right there with Loki as far as best ones yet. I actually like the story that a normal ordinary guy can bring down the Avengers through cunning, intelligence and force of will where these uber-powerful beings always fail. It reminded me a bit of Identity Crisis (although I realize Lord did have powers) in that the core of the story is the heroes are more dangerous to each other than the villains. Anyway, can't say enough good things about Civil War. Loved every single second of it. I'll never forget when the screen flashed "Queens" and half the theater I was in popped big because we all knew what that meant. Seeing Spidey - my favorite character - in a MU movie was surreal yet so satisfying. And in the space of 3 scenes I'm already ready to declare him the best Spidey ever. Of course, the disclaimer being I absolutely hated his soulless and inaccurate depictions in all those awful Raimi and Webb films. Only thing I'd disagree with is I've seen people say he felt tacked on. To me, his appearance made perfect sense - far more sense than other characters who popped up. To me, it's Hawkeye and Antman who felt tacked on. It struck me odd that both Hawkeye and Scott are portrayed as family men yet felt no compunction about becoming criminals. I know it was sorta explained and you can always say "because....heroes." but I felt the alliances were wacky. To me, it makes more sense for Hawkeye and/or Antman to stay within the law (or sit the fight out) where someone like Widow would be much more likely to side with Cap.
  20. How many fucking penalties are the Pens gonna take this period?? Talk about shitting the bed...
  21. I dunno if Tyrion got along with them so much as they used him. Remember he said legend was they were very smart and there was a clear moment when the second dragon kinda offered him his collar when he saw Tyrion release the first one. Guess what I'm saying is I'd never trust a dragon because sooner or later they're gonna go dragon (/Chris Rock) The other highlight for me was the Bolton stuff. Since Joffery's demise the show was missing that one big "will somebody please kill this asshole already?" uber-heel. Ramses is it. Hard to believe I used to watch that guy on Misfits and think he was such a sweet and likable dork when now he's so perfect as a complete psychopath. Just hope they don't blow the finish like they did with Joffrey and give somebody a satisfying kill.
  22. First time I noticed what a split he has. Cena had a split too but the "Let's Go Roman!" portion is very much more distinctly feminine. Styles did a great job dragging his gassed up ass to a really good match. Using it as a backdrop to a redo of the Attitude Era Dude Love-Austin match hurt the momentum they were trying to build tho. I was really impressed by some of the power moves AJ pulled off. He's a lot stronger than I remember from back when I used to watch him fight Amazing Red in X Division title matches.
  23. Redoing the Montreal Screwjob for a finish? McMahon vs McMahon family drama? And awesome main event serving as a back drop for the McMahon feud? It's like 2001 all over again.
  24. Is #AnybodyButEdmonton trending in Canada yet?
