  1. The only issue I have with the fine, which is deserved, is prank calls have been happening to NFL draftees for a long time. Hell it happened to others in the 2025 draft. Is the NFL doing the same effort to track down how they happened so they can hold all people responsible or are they only going after this one case because it happens to be Sanders? It should be a universal policy/investigation in all situations, not just because it happened to the most well known player.
  2. I assumed it was because luchadores sometimes go sailing into the crowd and they don't want a kid in the first row to get splatted.
  3. Hope the Browns pick Ewers in the 6th, just go full whacky.
  4. Hey he still gets a chance to start, happy for him.
  5. Have we reached the point yet that Sanders' people are asking teams NOT to draft him so he can pick his own team as a UDFA? I know players/agents have done that in past but couldn't remember if that is usually once they reach the 7th round those requests are sometimes made.
  6. I have no issue with healthy debate, esp on a message board designed for debate, but its very possible everyone is just overthinking it. If Mariah May's dream since she started wrestling was to wrestle in WWE, and now WWE wants her and she is going, that isn't a knock on AEW or Tony Khan or her booking or on Toni. AEW will always lose out to wrestlers that grew up watching WWE and dreaming of wrestling there, they have that element that AEW doesn't have being a newer promtion. They will always lose out to those wrestlers, Vaquer being another example plus the Lucha Bros (Penta was literally crying watching Fenix wrestle at WM) and Ricky Starks. And that's ok, there are hundreds of wrestlers, there will be some that prefer AEW due to the style or dates and there will be some that prefer WWE for the prestige and to have that WrestleMania moment. With such a stacked roster, if May is leaving in a few months I see no reason to get her in a storyline that is that quick when its gotten out she is leaving. I didn't like they benched Starks for 10 months but I understand it, focus on the wrestlers that want to stay and be part of the promotion. Either way its not the end of the world and May wanting to leave doesn't mean AEW did anything "wrong," its just the way its going to go sometimes.
  7. I hope someone unbiased and trustworthy does whatever research is necessary to give a detailed account of what happened with Sanders. Sometimes players slide for "character" issues or injury issues but Sanders' only character flaw we know of is being overly confident which A LOT of athletes have, his gameplay footage has some holes but all college kids do, and I don't really think the Deion thing would cause this kind of drop as if a team thinks a player is great they aren't worried about who the father is (just look at the Balls in the NBA, teams didn't care). I'm beyond shocked he has fallen this far, never seen anything like it for a QB.
  8. Would only be if a team in round two was trying to jump the Eagles to take who they wanted so the Eagles traded up to block another team for doing it. Or they just were afraid it may happen as they had someone they really wanted.
  9. Mel Kiper between every pick listing every QB not drafted high that did well as proof that Sanders can be great is incredibly annoying. He is oddly silent on all the QBs drafted lower then projected that ended up sucking.
  10. Soon as I heard the Giants traded back up I could feel Rippa's eye twitching.
  11. I know its not an easy thing or it would have been fixed already but every major retailer having issues in different ways just makes the process more frustrating. I got a Switch 2 pre-ordered from Walmart (assuming it isn't cancelled) and am still attempting to get one from Best Buy as I don't trust Walmart but between the sites crashing and randomly getting kicked out of the queue its not a top five life experience.
  12. So now that Nico is going to UCLA, not only is his brother also going to UCLA but former penciled in starter Joey Aguilar is transferring from UCLA to Tennessee. So they basically swapped QBs. Joey just got to UCLA in December in the portal so now he has transferred twice since the season ended.
  13. I don't want to waddle fully into the Bayley/AEW debate or the DVDVR feuds, but I will just say that even for those that don't watch AEW, this is why AEW is good. At least Bayley has an option of somewhere that will pay her no doubt at least high six figures to continue wrestling. That didn't exist six years ago for women, it was WWE or being on the road wrestling in various smaller promotions to make an easy living wage (unless Impact really wanted you). That doesn't mean she could/should leave WWE but having that option there gives her some leverage (maybe to get more money) where even if she stays in WWE maybe she'll get a better spot. I hate to see someone talk about themselves as a tier below that isn't but wrestling is a unique business so I'm in no place to judge. But I think she's pretty great and I hope whatever she does she is happy where she is. I suspect we'll see Bayley in a better place by the summer. HHH knows she is a good soldier that will do whatever is asked but he saw the interview just like we did and I'm going to assume not only does he not want to lose her but there is no indication he doesn't like her/want to give her a good place. I wouldn't be surprised if a Becky/Bayley feud is heated up pretty quick or if it is revealed Becky is who attacked Bayley. Just to quickly address this, part of people's reactions is from her interview with CV where she seems to be holding back tears/clearly is frustrated. That frustration can pass, maybe it already has, but its not just based on fans watching the show and jumping to conclusions.
  14. I didn't get into giant fun open world games until 2008 (Fallout 3 changed my life) so I never played Oblivion. So I'm very excited but I have a bit of a backlog so it may have to wait a few months.
  15. Switch 2 pre-order is now April 24th. No price increase for the console or games, but some accessories are priced a bit higher.
  16. I mean its not rocket science. People like puppets. People will buy puppets. Make puppets. Stop making 23049 t-shirts and do something different.
  17. Its criminal that AEW isn't selling Mone Puppets, they seem to really drop the ball with merch opportunities. The puppet is top five most over person in the company, the crowd would be a sea of them.
  18. Not much else to say that hasn't already been said, TK 'read the room' and gave a crowd pleasing show. The live crowd was great, every match delivered. Even the little things like the Hangman/Okada interaction were well done. I think Ospreay/Takeshita was better then any match on Dynasty, which isn't meant as a knock on Dynasty, I just thought it was a fantastic match. And clearly they didn't care about ending on time as the DR did their usual slow ass introduction at 9:57 PM. Great stuff.
  19. My guess for Wild Card is Perry, then Jarrett, then Swerve. I don't think it will be a wrestler like Alexander or Alexander coming in as I don't think they'd be slotted to beat Hangman and I don't think debuting them just to lose in their first match would be a great idea. Only way that would work is if someone screwed him and made him lose but I don't know who would currently slot in there. Plus I don't know how much the crowd would pop for them and I think they would want to do something to get a reaction. My dream pick would be something kinda silly from the WCW days as a jab at Bischoff since the card already has two main event level matches so they can fuck around with the WC, someone like Buff Bagwell but I dunno if they'd make it that silly. I'd laugh though.
  20. That's true, but she was maintaining the same gimmick/aura as the plan was always to go back to Toni. So they couldn't switch up her gimmick and then switch it back in two months when Toni returned, they kinda had to maintain the course so to speak. But she was still getting good reactions, is a really good wrestler, and is only 26 years old. So to say she was already stale 1.5 years into her run just because she had probably the second best feud AEW has ever run (Swerve/Hangman being #1) to me is kinda silly. Wrestlers change gimmicks at the drop of the hat (look at Swerve's arch the last two years), she still has many avenues to explore and personally I hope TK throws a bunch of money at her as I'd like to see what else she can do.
  21. Part of me thinks, as dumb as this all is, they will still keep The Elite and DR separate and ending Dynasty in such an unfulfilling way was just to re-introduce them as bad guys. DR + Elite is too many people (at least eight, maybe nine if Perry returns), even if they did Anarchy or B&G its still too many unless a few sit out. I think they will keep Omega/Page/Swerve focused on The Elite (they need to pivot Swerve from Mox so that Mox can get into his next feud) and not involve DR much. Or that's just wishful thinking since I don't like super big heel groups, didn't like it in 1997, don't like it now.
  22. Just feels like he has some really bad advisors (apparently his dad in this case). He could have played another year at Tennessee and if he had a good year left in the December portal and still had a couple years of eligibility. Now he is either going to have to go to a small school to start or go to a big school to backup/hope for a chance and then hope the NIL money is still available next December if he transfers again.
  23. He should have gone into the portal in the first go-round, since apparently it was already an issue then since he threatened too. Now so many teams already have their QB locked up (or NIL money spoken for) and during the Spring portal he can't go to a SEC team which limits his options. I don't doubt he'll find a team but finding a team that will meet his NIL demands seems very unlikely.
  24. I think that's the kicker, they aren't signing contracts that even mention games as they are signing the players to licensing deals. Which is the direction I'd prefer to see it go, have the players sign playing contracts with incentives for playing time, games started, etc. and not still using NIL which have contracts that may not include any of those provisions.
  25. Blake is a JTTS for sure but he isn't a jobber in the Bob Cook sense, he doesn't get squashed. He went five minutes with Omega, eight with Hologram, nine on last Dynamite in a tag match against Omega and Knight, ten minutes on the last ZERO HOUR. He's a 'jobber' in the sense he loses his matches but his matches are always competitive "enough" and he always gets his offense in. I think its just too widely used of a phrase (and why some wrestlers hate the term), yea he is going to lose but he shouldn't be squashed by Bowens either, they can pull a "local" non contracted wrestler in if they wanted to put over Bowens that way. Bowens is a midcarder, not a monster that needs 30 second victories to look tough.
