  1. Did the talent themselves tank NXT, rather than putting it up against AEW?
  2. We should remember FTR/Bucks III (at this point in time) was never the plan. Jeff Hardy being Jeff Hardy meant the Bucks had to be the ones to transition to Swerve and Lee.
  3. According to promos, Statlander is going for the Women's, Athena is going for the TBS.
  4. And for God's sake, PARAGRAPH BREAKS
  5. Nick Khan's budget cuts to HHH:
  6. I like Hayter, but the next women's champion is Statlander. Or I riot.
  7. I recently realized that Orange Cassidy might be the third best wrestler in AEW.
  8. Settle down, Hollywood ArchieGusnetico.
  9. I'm an editor. If it's more than six lines, THAT SHIT'S CUT.
  10. Wrestlenomics has been saying that judging by what WWE's ratings are and what they've gotten for TV fees over the years, AEW should be due for a 3-4 times increase. So maybe now they only get a 2-2.5 times increase.
  11. I love to see Dean's thoughts, but I 100% cannot read a wall of text in 2022. ?
  12. The distinction between "HBO Max shuts down" and "HBO Max merges with Discovery+" seems to be semantic. Streaming competition is so cutthroat now, companies want as much content as possible. The existing HBO Max stuff has to migrate over; you don't just throw that away. Dave sounds overly pessimistic. The real result here is that AEW won't get as big of a rights fee increase as they would have a year ago.
  13. PAC calls it the Brutalizer. Used it to finish people after the Black Arrow for awhile, before rightly realizing that was anticlimactic.
  14. EDIT: Dreaded double post allows me to say it's scripted TV that Discovery is axing, and they don't seem to count AEW in that. They threw the company a party when AEW was in LA, for Pete's sake.
  15. It's kind of nuts to think this new entity won't have any streaming at all. The going expectation seems to be that HBO Max and Discovery+ will merge somehow.
  16. AEW is owned jointly by Tony and his dad (or maybe, technically, by some corporation they created). Tony is the sole owner of ROH.
  17. On the post-DBD scrum, Tony made it sound like the show being on Bleacher Report PPV was a test for how wise it would be for Warner/Discovery to "invest" in ROH. He basically said this was a step in the process of getting a regular show, and everyone was seemingly happy with how it went.
  18. According to Tony, Briscoes are contracted to ROH, not AEW.
  19. I don't think Tony would have booked the match/stip if he didn't have a plan. Whether it's a good one or not remains to be seen.
  20. Let's not forget that hour 1 was COMMERCIAL FREE, and the rest of the show used picture-in-picture (which has been shown to better retain viewers). It's a good number, with caveats.
