  1. Cardinals are reportedly parting ways with Steve Keim as their GM, though he could stay with the franchise in another capacity. Don't know if this means anything for Kliff Kingsbury.
  2. With nearly all of the 2022 NFL regular season in the books, the 2023 NFL Draft order is taking shape. This year's draft will be held in Kansas City. The following is the draft order for the first round of this year's draft, with each team's record and strength of schedule, which is the first tiebreaker for determining draft position. The team with a lower SoS gets the higher draft pick. Carolina Panthers (from Chicago Bears, 3-14, .572): Bryce Young, QB, Alabama Houston Texans (3-13-1, .481): C.J. Stroud, QB, Ohio State Houston Texans (from Arizona Cardinals, 4-13, .529): Will Anderson, Edge, Alabama Indianapolis Colts (4-12-1, .512): Anthony Richardson, QB, Florida Seattle Seahawks (from Denver Broncos, 5-12, .481): Devon Witherspoon, CB, Illinois Arizona Cardinals (from Los Angeles Rams, 5-12, .519, through Detroit Lions): Paris Johnson, OT, Ohio State Las Vegas Raiders (6-11, .474): Tyree Wilson, Edge, Texas Tech Atlanta Falcons (7-10, .467): Bijan Robinson, RB, Texas Philadelphia Eagles (from Carolina Panthers, 7-10, .472, through Chicago Bears): Jalen Carter, DL, Georgia Chicago Bears (from New Orleans Saints, 7-10, .507, through Philadelphia Eagles): Darnell Wright, OT, Tennessee Tennessee Titans (7-10, .510): Peter Skoronski, OT, Northwestern Detroit Lions (from Cleveland Browns, 7-10, .524, through Houston Texans and Arizona Cardinals): Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Alabama Green Bay Packers (from New York Jets, 7-10, .539): Lukas van Ness, Edge, Iowa Pittsburgh Steelers (from New England Patriots, 8-9, .502): Broderick Jones, OT, Georgia New York Jets (from Green Bay Packers, 8-9, .524): Will McDonald, Edge, Iowa State Washington Commanders (8-8-1, .536): Emmanuel Forbes, CB, Mississippi State New England Patriots (from Pittsburgh Steelers, 9-8, .519): Christian Gonzalez, CB, Oregon Detroit Lions (9-8, .535): Jack Campbell, LB, Iowa Tampa Bay Buccaneers (8-9, .503): Calijah Kancey, DL, Pittsburgh Seattle Seahawks (9-8, .462): Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR, Ohio State Miami Dolphins (9-8, .537) Los Angeles Chargers (10-7, .443): Quentin Johnston, WR, Texas Christian Baltimore Ravens (10-7, .509): Zay Flowers, WR, Boston College Minnesota Vikings (13-4, .474): Jordan Addison, WR, Southern Cal New York Giants (from Jacksonville Jaguars, 9-8, .467): Deonte Banks, CB, Maryland Buffalo Bills (from New York Giants, 9-7-1, .526, through Jacksonville Jaguars): Dalton Kincaid, TE, Utah Dallas Cowboys (12-5, .507): Mazi Smith, DL, Michigan Jacksonville Jaguars (from Buffalo Bills, 13-3, .503): Anton Harrison, OT, Oklahoma Cincinnati Bengals (12-4, .524): Myles Murphy, Edge, Clemson New Orleans Saints (from San Francisco 49ers, 13-4, .417, through Miami Dolphins and Denver Broncos): Bryan Bresee, DL, Clemson Philadelphia Eagles (14-3, .474): Nolan Smith, Edge, Georgia Kansas City Chiefs (14-3, .453): Felix Anudike-Uzomah, Edge, Kansas State The Miami Dolphins will not have a first-round pick this year because they forfeited it for violating league tampering rules. Everyone that is "below" Miami in the draft order will theoretically move up one spot. Teams with multiple first-round picks: Detroit Lions (acquired pick from Los Angeles Rams in Matthew Stafford trade) Philadelphia Eagles (acquired pick from New Orleans in 2022 pre-draft trade) Houston Texans (acquired pick from Cleveland in DeShaun Watson trade) Teams with no first-round pick: Los Angeles Rams (traded to Detroit in Matthew Stafford trade) Denver Broncos (traded to Seattle in Russell Wilson trade) Cleveland Browns (traded to Houston in DeShaun Watson trade) San Francisco 49ers (traded pick to Miami in 2021 as part of trade to move up for Trey Lance; Miami subsequently traded pick to Denver in Bradley Chubb trade; Denver subsequently traded the pick to New Orleans for Sean Payton) Miami Dolphins (for reasons outlined above) I'll do something about Day 2 picks that have been traded at some point here, too.
  3. The Bears have officially clinched the #1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, and the Houston Texans have clinched the second pick. The rest of the top five will be some combination of Seattle (via Denver), Arizona, and Indianapolis.
  4. Adam Rich, who played Nicholas Bradshaw, the youngest son on Eight is Enough, has passed away at the age of 54. https://nypost.com/2023/01/08/eight-is-enough-star-adam-rich-dead-at-54/?dg
  5. On 17 November, the Titans beat Green Bay on Monday Night Football to move their record to 7-3. That was the last game they won this season.
  6. Adam Schefter is reporting that Sean McVay will be "taking some time" after the season to decide whether or not he wants to return to the Rams in 2023.
  7. Winnipeg. Keep the extra 10 yards on the field and everything. They'll probably still each score 40.
  8. Per Tom Pelissero, the owners have approved the proposed modifications to this year's playoffs.
  9. Including a "Level 1 violation" against Harbaugh for failing to cooperate with investigators. https://twitter.com/DanWetzel/status/1611199099499315200 Certainly no connection between this and him suddenly being super interested in coming back to the NFL, though.
  10. So, here's the resolution to the AFC issue. The Bengals have been declared AFC North champions. If they are scheduled to play the Ravens on Wild Card Weekend (which could happen if the Ravens win on Sunday), the location will be determined by a coin toss. That's why the Ravens/Bengals game is now in the 1 PM Eastern window on Sunday. . .it's not for the AFC North anymore. This weekend's games: Buffalo wins, KC loses: Chiefs/Bills AFCCG takes place in Buffalo KC wins, Buffalo loses: Chiefs/Bills AFCCG takes place in Kansas City KC wins, Buffalo wins: AFCCG contested at neutral site If the Bengals make the AFCCG, they'd face Kansas City at a neutral site and they'd face Buffalo in Buffalo because they've played one less game than the Chiefs and the same number of games as the Bills). Any other AFCCG combination would be figured out by the normal seeding methods. I think that basically covers everything.
  11. Now there's apparently talk of adding an 8th playoff team in each conference in order to negate the advantage of a potential bye week in the AFC. If they add an 8th team this year you can bet that will be the standard going forward.
  12. Kansas City Jacksonville New York Jets Houston Minnesota Cincinnati Carolina Buffalo Atlanta Pittsburgh Seattle Denver Philadelphia San Francisco Dallas Detroit Tiebreaker 1 - 57 Tiebreaker 2 - 332 Tiebreaker 3 - 78
  13. Pro Football Talk is reporting that "momentum is building" towards Bills/Bengals not being resumed and playoff seedings in the AFC being based on winning percentage after the Week 18 games.
  14. What CSC said. If the Chiefs win, the #1 seed is out of reach for the Bills and Bengals/Ravens is still a winner-take-all for the NFC North. I think.
  15. The league has informed the teams that the Bengals/Bills game "will not be resumed this week."
  16. And we kick things off with Skip Bayless doing Undisputed by himself this morning because his shitty Damar Hamlin tweet from last night pissed off Shannon Sharpe, who no-showed. And my tweets are doing the "not embedding" thing again, damn it. (Fixed! -Dolfan)
  17. Never mind.
  18. When presented with the opportunity to either a) show a game that's "win or go home" for both teams involved independent of the other 15 games on the schedule or b) kiss Aaron Rodgers' ass for three hours, the National Football League happily chose "b."
  19. The Texans and Bears will (likely) have the top two picks in the 2023 NFL Draft. If Houston loses at Indianapolis on Sunday, they get #1. Should they win and the Bears lose to Minnesota at home, Chicago will jump to #1 (and subsequently trade that pick for a metric assload of draft capital). There's a chance that the Bears could drop as low as 4 if they win on Sunday, with Arizona and Denver having a chance to leapfrog them.
  20. Your Saturday Week 18 games: 4:30 PM Eastern - Chiefs at Raiders 8:15 PM Eastern - Titans at Jaguars Both of those games will be on ABC/ESPN. Remainder of Week 18 schedule coming tomorrow after Bills/Bengals, though I'm assuming this makes Lions/Packers the Sunday Night game.
  21. Hooray for kicking the field goal to take it from a two-score game to. . .a two-score game.
  22. I did get the Season Pass so I have the DLC. I had just totally forgotten about it. Off to Dreamveil Outlook I go, it would appear.
  23. https://twitter.com/ABC/status/1609016015303630848 Longtime ABC News correspondent/interviewer Barbara Walters has passed away at the age of 93, per ABC News.
  24. I have an important announcement to make. . . CHICKEN CHICKEN CHICKEN CHICKEN DOUBLE WHOPPER CHICKEN CHICKEN WHOPPER DOUBLE WHOPPER CHICKEN HAVE IT YOUR WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! Worst damn commercial on TV right now, by some distance.
