  1. I think they need to stick to B-shows. Stuff like New Beginning USA and Lion's Break are fine. They might have to go overseas for G1 in 2020 due to Olympics some.
  2. I don't feel like Mox is a lock, he's the 3rd most likely winner after Naito and White. Naito has his story which can carry to the Dome, and White is pushed that hard (I think he deserves his push , but there might be others like Ospreay who could carry the banner just as well if not better)
  3. Sho's music was playing at the end instead of R3K's- I thought when Sho was pulled off the apron tonight it was him turning on Yoh. Also some lady stuffed a bill down YOH's pants.
  4. It's more he needs to be built up over a year, not that they don't want him to be the guy. Page is the most important guy AEW has long-term, if he doesn't pan out, they're in big trouble once Omega turns into a worst parts of Ibushi-Tanahashi hybrid in a few years.
  5. I'm of the belief you should once in a while tinker with the formulas of match structure/finish, just to keep fans on their toes, and to let them know that the things they expect aren't always guaranteed. Okada winning with a roll-up is great, as would be ending a match before a hot tag a couple times a year. Fans would probably be upset in the short-term, but it would pay off in the long-term.
  6. I don't think anyone wants to tie themselves to ROH long term right now if they don't have to. MLW and AEW are clearly better options. I feel bad for Lethal, but he'd get a good deal somewhere if ROH went under.
  7. Jericho is a heavy evangelical (I'm reluctant to call evangelicals Christians anymore) - he got it from his time in WCW and the influence of Sting. Also, Jericho and Benoit were very close, so throw those together, and if it gives Jericho some piece of mind to believe a demon was in Benoit when he did it- I can sympathize. I think it was CTE.
  8. The best solution would be to use both if that's possible. AEW might be a better place for excursions, given the flexibility in promotions and midweek TV.
  9. I'm more likely to run into a bear than a person at my job in between shift changes.
  10. I always thought it was a five-count for illegal use of the ropes.
  11. The fighting game crowd is pretty knowledgable about wrestling for the most part, she'll do well. last year pretty much everyone NJPW got a good reception- even Chase (lot of it was everyone had their working boots on, not just the main)
  12. I was really impressed with Ace Austin. Airwolf- I keep unfairly comparing him the Waltman in his Lightning Kid days for some reason, even though they're not alike at all. MLW is primed to get raided by the bigger fish in the food chain (ROH/AEW most likely), so they are going to have to succeed by building up new talent,or getting enough financial backing to get to ROH's level. The MLW stuff (alongside Muta) is making me want to hit Wrestlecade this year again.
  13. If that's the case why not just sign with NJPW directly and work ROH as a side gig. Got more freedom under a NJPW contract.
  14. The one guy worth something to NJPW (Cobb) has already been confirmed for Dallas- I'm assuming he's in the G1 for that reason. I can't imagine bringing in Cobb just for a random undercard tag. Rush I'm counting as CMLL not ROH.
  15. Archer also had the great match vs Ospreay in the NJC. That might have gotten him into the G1. Assuming they keep the field at 20, its going to be interested who is out of the G1 this year. I could see Goto, Suzuki, even Tana all missing it.
  16. Hearing Archer's been confirmed in.
  17. Taichi/Ishii was match of the night, though wrong winner. Afraid this is because Taichi will be out of G1, especially after Yoshi-Hashi pinned ZSJ tonight. Taichi really brought it tonight. Ibushi/Naito made me cringe to much to truly enjoy it, and Jericho held up better than I expected, though he can't go at NJPW level anymore- he's too broken down. At least he can keep Tanahashi busy at WK and they can have a fairly safe spectacle.
  18. Ibushi you kinda knew the reason we wasn't elevated- he was freelancer/unreliable. Juice just seems to have that Goto vibe of always falling short.
  19. They could even make it like the sequel, which was a Street Fighter clone in some ways. Lab Zero would be a nice company to do it, but they're busy and it's probably too expensive.
  20. A Ready 2 Rumble style AEW game would be interesting. Or maybe Style Savvy with Kenny Omega. (and if AEW ever tried to steal talent, throw in SANADA who's my one NJPW guy I'd like to see jump to AEW)
  21. Juice does have a bit of a Gaijin Goto vibe to him with when/how he loses. I think if Juice wants a top card run, he might have to do it outside of NJPW and take a risk. I worry he'll reach a glass ceiling in NJPW. (and yeah, NJPW has glass ceilings like anywhere else to me, though they're usually justified with how great the main eventers are)
  22. By the time Okada's ready to leave Japan, Omega will be at least as broken down as Tana is now. Omega's only got about 3-4 years of his prime left at most.
  23. I'm assuming they won't keep these numbers for their next few. All Out might not get much of a dropoff, but I'm expecting the 3rd one to be a big dropoff. If it isn't, then I'll be fully convinced they're a lasting force.
  24. If they got 98k buys on traditional PPV, and another 90k or so on streams, they're legit and will do well even if they lose half that number. Even if it's 98k total they're doing ok.
  25. he was in at least one of the WK Battle Royals as well. Just thought of something- does the NJPW Roster hate DOUKI because of all the botches during BOSJ? No one caught him on that dive tonight. Kinda wouldn't blame the roster- he just about killed 2-3 folks with botches over the tour, esp Phantasmo.
