  1. Khan just came out and said they want to do one of these shows every year, and if Jebailey wants to perform at the shows they'll let him. As long as Jebailey isn't a regular AEW wrestler I'm fine with it- I'd be ok with Jebailey as a heel manager though.
  2. The first one was to pop the crowd- and it worked. About half that crowd was there for the gaming as well.
  3. He's still good in the ring despite getting up in years, his promo skills have really improved. Also a really nice guy, and Taya's nice as well. He is the favorite wrestler of one of my friends, alongside Edge and the Miz.
  4. KENTA, Goto, Dragon Lee, and the US Young Lions and Gabriel from Rev Pro (since he's now part of those Young Lions) would be an effective stable. Maybe throw in Henare and Sho.
  5. the most likely scenario is once Jebailey's contract with Daytona is up, he'll head back to Orlando and get a bigger event there- provided fighting games and AEW both continue to grow. Jebailey has not been happy with the behavior of some of the Daytona Beach locals who have harassed some of the more marginalized FGC folk. If it wasn't for that, and the tourist trap nature of the place, CEO would be the best event out there. (I still think it is despite that!)
  6. They do the same thing in the US. It's like they're afraid to be a Japanese company outside of Japan, when the fans want a Japanese company.
  7. For what it's worth, AEW fans were blasting Cody for having the chairshot on the show- they didn't like it. Hopefully they don't do it again. It just doesn't fit what the fans want. The Jebailey stuff would make Corny clutch his pearls, but for that show- it's fine. I'm happy for Jebailey though- on the FGC side of things he really is one of the good guys and he's getting to live the dream some. If AEW has him around once a year I'm fine with that- he can be their equivalent of Pete Rose getting tombstoned by Kane every year. I couldn't bring myself to care about Janela. I didn't get to see the whole show because I was at a local fighting game tourney today instead which went long. I just wish I wasn't at local competitor level these days.
  8. At this point I'd love to see a WCCW/USWA angle with the NWA that end up with ROH being bought out by Billy Corgan and Nick Aldis tearing up the ROH banners to cheers. Maybe Taven could be PY Chu-Hi.

    NJPW G1 2019

I think Taichi is going to be beating Naito not Ishii. Naito needs IC and possibly briefcase defenses, and fans would be cheering for Taichi hard to pull the upset but be ok if he loses.
  10. Cody's a big Zelda fan- used to wear the Triforce on his boots, and he named his crappy vertebreaker finisher Din's Fire.
  11. If Kenny puts out half the effort he put out for CEO x NJPW last year, it will be worth the price. Lovers vs Naito/Hiromu was every bit as good as Lovers vs Tana/Ospreay last December. The other matches with NJPW talent were all fun as well.
  12. He did get himself over. Was mega-over as a heel in WCCW as well.
  13. Older version of Fire Pro, not World?
  14. Will's kinda embracing the cringe at this point, even trying to turn it into a message of positivity.
  15. The fighting game commentators who did CEO x NJPW last year were pretty good.
  16. These sorts of disputes with local TV stations are common. It's the local TV station and DirecTV arguing on how much the local TV station should be paid.
  17. Yeah, Nakazawa did some cheap anti-American, anti-gamer heat after beating a jobber before the match. Jebailey tore his Achilles trying to learn a missile dropkick (as that was his kick in Divekick)
  18. The boot was because he tore his Achilles a few days before the match. He spent the rest of that weekend in a wheelchair. Jebailey's known a bit in the FGC for his big ego. There's a reason Divekick Jefailey is the way he is. (Jefailey is what people called him when he lost in the games he competed in)
  19. The Daytona show is during the 2nd biggest fighting game tourney in the US- they usually get about 1500-2000 ticket sales just from that. Fighting game fans love wrestling for the most part. Also, Jebailey is one of those FG TOs who is not in favor of the sexism, and runs a damn good diverse event, he's one of the good guys in the community. CEO and Combo Breaker are the two events that really try to be good. If I can hit one event a year, it's CEO , though I couldn't this year. CEOTAKU is particularly known for being inclusive. The non-American option is FITE.tv I believe As for long term, I think if AEW stays hot, and can fill a 15,000 seat Arena in Orlando, Jebailey might move it back to Orlando- kinda hope he does.
  20. With all that talent in NJPW right now, some guys are going to run into a glass ceiling. I could see some defections to AEW from NJPW- not of the pushed guys, but some solid folks. My gut says SANADA jumps if he isn't pushed soon because of his desire to work in the US and English speaking skills. As for how an alliance with AEW would work- it would be mostly special appearances, and AEW stars doing NJC/BOSJ/G1 and tours between being featured. Allows for rotation of talent and fresh matchups for both. Also excursions for young lions. What you wouldn't get is ROH jobbing out their champs to Henare (you know they'd give Henare the TV belt if they could)
  21. R3K is doing an indy show in Charlotte with Rocky the following afternoon, so some ROH dates are likely.
  22. I was looking forward to ZSJ/Minoru with Zack scoring the upset and starting the end of Suzuki-Gun, the WTL preview of that was intense and ZSJ would have to learn to get dirty. That said, Suzuki-Gun is a family like LIJ so that isn't their style, it's not like BC where they kick people out left and right.
