  1. You can go either way on this depending on the reaction. If Spears and Tully get over, you can carry it for a bit, if Spears dies, Cody buries him, Tully gets better horses, and Spears goes into the lowcard. AEW has to gamble on some talents given the roster they have. If I were them, I'd really talk to Court and try to get some sort of working arrangement with MLW.

He's gotten worse since TAKA is out. TAKA kept him in check. Zack's out smarting of Fale and the entire BC his last match was great though- I half expect him to pull a BUSHI special this year.
  3. Hilarious segment last night with MJW and Daga

Octopi are more respectable than the WWE to NJPW right now.
  5. You've got plenty of time to build Darby up, and a loss in a 6-man isn't a burial. Tye is someone you can do a short program with, have him lose out, then push him down into the mid-card to help out other talent over for a year or two. Tully can toss him into the dumpster and hitch his train to someone else in his quest for revenge after Tye fails.

There's usually 1 time limit draw a year.

I agree, Charlton in small doses as a third man, is the best role for him. He should be allowed to translate things, and occasionally chime in if something is important- like the theology thing with Tana- which helped to make Tana/Omega good.

I think the NJPW World commentary has been great- outside of Poffo. I enjoy them a lot more than I enjoy any WWE or ROH commentary. They even made Caprice tolerable after a couple of shows.
  9. That could have because it was a gun violence show and Kenny didn't feel it was appropiate there. That said, he could dump it and I don't think fans would care all that much.

Mox/Jay should be great. Looking forward to that the most of Mox's matches. Jay's winning but I can see like 100 different matches playing out already.
  11. Fyter Fest was done the year prior as a NJPW branded event (and Kenny had a banger of match Lovers vs Naito/Hiromu there last year) . Kenny likes fighting games, EVO was during the G1, CEO was the next largest event, so he started going there. Alex Jebailey's a huge wrestling fan and really good event promoter, things went from there. Also the fighting game crowd really loves wrestling. I'm kinda surprised Kenny isn't doing EVO this year.
  12. They can always do a bring in LA Park to do a Spears feud next year for TV. The show tonight was a bit understandably sloppy, but I felt it was their best show. Lot of good stuff, though you have to fast forward through the Brandi crap.

I was expecting Miho to try and get in Front of Taichi and Mox to just nail her.

Yep, the young lion match was my 2nd best match of the night behind Cobb/Ishii, and Tanahashi and KENTA were just bystanders.
  15. Johnny wants a limited schedule- AEW would be a fairly limited schedule but still national exposure. I don't see him going to NJPW, and ROH has the lesser TV deal. AEW , having a showcase feud with Omega, then helping to elevate Page, and then perhaps shifting to tag work with someone (Johnny and MJF perhaps as a Miz/Morrison part II?) would be a good career arc for him.
  16. The last thing AEW needs is more PWG influence. I think most of the bad in AEW is coming from the Bucks in terms of ideas- and PWG would encourage more of it. Court wouldn't be writing the checks in this scenario- so in terms of being untrustworthy, that impact should be minimized. The current talent (to add to the roster which is a bit lacking on the male side) and regular TV slot (to help build lowcard talent) are what's more important. Also, you'd gain some TV footage, which potentially could be used once a network is launched, which is something they're going to need long term in order to compete as a major league. Court using a factional system in MLW is great for bringing in unit challenges to the Bucks and Kenny, which they can cycle through as well. I do worry about what might happen if a unit got themselves more over than the Bucks and how they would handle it.
  17. With Corny around, an AOC gimmick isn't completely out of the question- he remembers how effective Sunny was as a HIllary Clinton expy in SMW. Contra Unit would be one of those factions that could credibly jump Kenny and the Bucks in AEW, and a lot of the AEW fans know about MLW right now and are liking it. They'd be recognized immediately. If Court was selling, if I was the Khan's I'd be buying. MLW would work great as a developmental for AEW with TV, and they got enough talent that would fill out the roster immediately.

I think his dome match is going to be Jericho as a way to keep him away from the title picture, so they don't need to push him so hard.

I could see Ospreay as a future IWGP champ in 3-4 years. I won't be shocked if he beats Okada in the G1 this year.

I can't think of any NJPW show that wasn't well received by the audience there. If they do the G1 next year in the US for any part of it (Okada hinted at it in his victory speech) , I've decided I'm going - especially now that I'm getting the other thing I always wanted to do out of the way in a few weeks.

Someone hand that man some Cook-Out and we can fill the Greensboro Coliseum.
  22. Also, isn't Ibushi's contract only 2 years? He could always leave after those 2 or 3 years if he really wanted his final match with Omega. They'd be 40, and no guarantee either would have a neck by that point, but would still be a big match.
  23. They got Dragon Lee as a junior ace as well, he'd almost certainly join with Shibata.
  24. I think only the WWF used their own music in the 80s. Don't think anyone cared until the 90s.
