  1. Went to Twitter to see what some of the AEW guys were saying about Halo: Infinites release today and I realized, Cody has deactivated his Twitter account ?
  2. Thank you! I didn't think I heard them really push a live Rampage on Dynamite Wednesday so I was unsure. Live Rampage >>>> Taped Rampage especially as a go home to a PPV
  3. That makes Statlander the first official female member of CHAOS, no?
  4. Then Cody can have his mega heel run and lose the title to Eddie Kingston allowing everything to come full circle once more (since Cody was Eddie's debut match).
  5. Yeah forget Cornette, he tried to compare my YouTube shoots to Tony Khan's forbidden door promos a couple of months back on his podcast. Everyone knows TK (apparently hopped up on cocaine according to Jim) > Krone Meltzer
  6. Very, very excited for this one.
  7. I can't in good conscience keep giving them $5 a month for a back catalogue of material I've pretty much seen. Whether they got their money from NBC Universal or not - I don't want to keep "supporting" them in any way with the way that they repeatedly treat talent and fans alike.
  8. Man this really hits me hard. I grew up watching the WWF vs. WCW war a tiny bit when I was around 8/9 years old but it wasn't until 2001 that I really fell in LOVE with wrestling. I can safely say that WWE then isn't even close to what they are now and it's disheartening because you're right, even if things go sideways WWE sells for a nice sum and sails off into the sunset. Which is so heartbreaking for a company that helped mold a lot of us into the people we are today sitting here on a public forum discussing pro wrestling. I am thanking my lucky stars that Tony Khan and the Elite banded together to create AEW because for around the last 10 years I would say WWE hasn't been at it's strongest - and wouldn't you know it, that's right around the time people like Trips, HBK, Flair, Batista, ect really started to hang up the boots for a regular basis. It's weird to think of a wrestling world without a Vince McMahon ran WWE. Like, I can't really even begin to think of where wrestling would go if Disney purchased the rights to WWE. The brand power that someone like Disney has would be hard for a lot of companies to compete with and would probably only further the "PG Era" of wrestling for the rest of the century. I will say yesterday was the last straw and I cancelled my Peacock membership - so hopefully others follow suit and it shows WWE that there are consequences to their actions but tanking ratings say they don't even really care about that.
  9. The numbers Alvarez threw out were 23 or 25 years old with the males being 27. Basically, they just want raw people they can mold for a couple of years in developmental before their 30 and then push on TV for 10 years.
  10. I jokingly said Nia would show up in GCW, but totally agree that AEW for the most part can't absorb a lot of these people... ...but maybe a fresh RoH could snag up some players? Keith Lee or Killer Kross with Scarlett?
  11. Only other one I can think of is Shanna who's contract they let run out without re-signing. That's as far as contracted talents I can think of.. maybe Awesome Kong? I think even Mel is still under contract, but not sure.
  12. Where does Nia go? She's the one I'm very interested in seeing where she goes or what she does now that she will be outside the WWE bubble. Does Rock try and get her some acting roles? Does she go to Impact or somewhere like that - with her track record of injuries?
  13. Damn, that's very sad. Trips has gotten a lot of flack in the past, mostly for that reign of terror in the early 00's but I'll be damned if that guy hasn't poured his heart and soul into this business. Hope everything is alright for him, especially with those kids at home.
  14. I enjoyed the show. CM Punk's shoutout to Moxley about getting better was a nice gesture and I can't help but feel like CM Punk is basically just an extension of Tony Khan on screen. Having a talent come out and put over Jon's commendable choice to better himself, better his future, and better his family life is actually a very nice thing and beautiful that we don't always have to have (insert storyline reason here) - just cut through the bullshit and tell it how it is. I like that and hope that will help those people out there who struggle with addiction or other problems and allow them to reach out for help. Also, Punk vs. Kingston will be a great match - but I'm really excited for a live Rampage this Friday with those two dueling on the mic. Should be something special. Boy am I over this Jurassic Express/Super Kliq feud and hope it finally comes to an end at Full Gear. Had we gone back to day 1 of Dynamite, I would've predicted Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus to be tag champs by now - but I think it's pretty evident that Luchasaurus may not be ready for that spot yet, especially with how sparse title changes are. I will also be honest, Adam Cole and Christian is not really a match-up I am looking forward to but the Instant Classic has reeled me in with great performances in the past so I will wait to pass judgement. Was also really thinking that PVZ was going to be the fifth for the match at Full Gear, but again was skeptical just because I know TK isn't a big fan of the intergender wrestling. Arlovski and JDS are two great name value choices for the match and everyone wants to see Dan Lambert get his ass kicked - but I also thought there was a chance we might get Jorge Masvidal in this spot too. It wasn't until after that I realized he's fighting in December so no dice again, but it makes me wonder if that running knee was/is/will lead to anything down the line with Jericho. Lambert is over with me and appointment TV every time he's on. My buddy asked me if he has go away heat or just genuine heat and I said I just think he's over as heel. He knows how to rile a crowd up and I'll be honest, he gets reactions that are equally if not louder than MJF and that's saying something. Is this the end game for ATT? Surely you can't trod them everywhere all over the country for years on end, but I like their little dynamic and personally hope they stick around for even longer. Also - more Paige VanZant please. Pretty please? MJF/Darby is kind of just there for me but what a hellacious clothesline over the guard rail. Very Catcus Jack esque if you will. That FTR vs. SDS/Aerostar was very choppy and not fluid at all. Samurai did a good job in the match as I expected since I'm fairly certain Lucha House Party and the Revival mixed it up plenty enough in WWE. Not sure what Aerostar was looking for there on that dive over the top but it looked like he got hit with a powerbomb when all was said and done. Omega and Angels was good and clearly an attempt at the callback to their Dark match with the V-Trigger spots. Hangman getting the title away from the Elite should be best for everyone all around, especially when his next challenger will be either Bryan Danielson or Miro. I'm in the camp that Miro goes over at the PPV and continues his monster push, because he may very well be the unspoken MVP of 2021. His change in character and demeanor to the badass God's favorite champion has been more appointment television on the weekly. We talked about how some of these guys from WWE -> AEW would see a lot more shine and I honestly think Miro is probably case and point #1 right now.
  15. Random question but does anyone know what's going on with Triple H? I saw some people on Twitter mention that they think he might be in rougher shape than WWE is leading on to believe and I know he was just recently in the hospital for something.
  16. Big time respect to Mox - but the heartwarming thing for me has been everybody supporting him. Admitting you have a fault, especially something like drinking is very hard for any person to admit. Hell, admitting self faults is one of the hardest things we can do, but as others have said his family and health should come first. To do this right now, with the book and the tournament, respect to him. TK has played enough Extreme Warfare, he knows how to handle these situations (I say that light heartedly trying to make the best of a bad situation). As far as the booking goes, OC wasn't ever going to go over in this match so I wonder who the replacement if there is one may be. Eddie Kingston for the Mox connection leading to King/Danielson at Full Gear in a rematch? Lance Archer get's one more shot if he's medically cleared?......... MIRO?
  17. Did... did... did Abadon have thumbtacks lodged in her gums?! Also, Danielson and Kingston just doing gang shit. There's something about two men just giving each other a stiff, good ole fashioned ass whooping that cleanses the soul. Love how much of a threat Danielson made Kingston look like too.
  18. Dalton Castle for the Wingmen.
  19. I think you're thinking of Warhorse.
  20. This makes it seem like they're just going to basically try and reboot the promotion doesn't it? Maybe take a stab at some of those big name FA's out there and try to bring the name value back up again.
  21. The idea that Cody Rhodes is even close to Jeff Jarrett is one of the most ridiculous wrestling takes I have seen in a long time. I myself was a big time connoisseur of TNA back in '04. '05, '06 and let me tell you that nobody reigned supreme like Planet Jarrett. For instance, from their very first three hour PPV Victory Road 2004 until Bound for Glory 2006 - Jeff Jarrett main evented 16 of those 24 PPV's with three co-main events in there as well that were major storylines at the time. Couple that with the fact that out of those 714 days between Victory Road '04 and Bound for Glory '06 Jarrett held the NWA World Heavyweight title for 621 of them. That right there is putting not just the main event, but the championship belt in a stranglehold. So to think that Cody Rhodes, a guy who was one of the main event pillars that this very company was founded upon with Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley, and Kenny Omega is anywhere near that is just laughable. To think that Cody wouldn't shouldn't or isn't worthy of a win over Malakai Black is a little bit too far. Cody is 11-5 on the year after that win so it's not like he hasn't ate his share of losses either, but we also overanalyze everything because that's what we do as fans. Cody's bit doesn't bother me at all, but I respectfully agree that he can be a little cringe at times. He's done nothing but help elevate talent like MJF at the beginning of AEW's inception when Max wasn't exactly a household name, Darby Allin with the TNT Championship, and I dare say help establish Malakai Black fairly early in his run as well. Finding a nice balance between no 50/50 booking, eating L's, and yet being a credible 'main eventer' in a sports/win-loss record driven promotion is hard but I think Cody has done his job fairly well since AEW's birth.
