  1. Um, ok. I’ll have to take your word on that. The wife and I are basically just baffled by this halftime show, I imagine this is how an alien would feel if they landed at Mardi Gras. Yes. Now if you’ll exclusive me, I’m going to go to the bathroom and pull my pants up my armpit, then lean out the window and loudly ask kids why they don’t play some real music.
  2. Payton II’s agent is pushing back on the Warrior’s allegations. He says Payton never took Toradol in order to play.
  3. Somehow did not know that Lee Corso dropped an f-bomb on live tv until just now. The clip is hilarious. I’m still laughing.
  4. Vin Diesel recently compared F&F to Lord of the Rings, so maybe they’re planning on heading in that direction.
  5. One thing I will say for Triple H is that he knows when to move on from one of his pet projects. I still don’t think Hit Row, Kross, Lumis, etc. needed brought back, but creative moved on from them pretty quickly when they realized it wasn’t working. None of those guys are getting big pushes or eating up large chunks of tv time. I do wish they were doing more with Escobar and LdF. They just seem to be… there, without much in the way of feuds or direction. Really hate the, being paired with Zelena. She’s not adding much to the act.
  6. Same. I dislike cancel culture types, but when people start dialing up the rhetoric and using buzzwords for no reason, I start looking for the angle.
  7. Eh, Punk would draw but I still don’t think it’d be enough to be worth the hassle. TK may disagree.
  8. I thought it was interesting that Meltzer has gone from saying Punk would never return to saying AEW might or might not use Punk when he’s healthy in a couple months, but that bringing him back has some potential pitfalls. I guess they never did fire him? Too bad. i don’t see an enough of an upside to bringing him back, but he’d probably still draw well and the initial period after his return would probably do huge numbers, so it will be interesting if they try it. AEW seems to be cooling off, so Tony might be desperate enough to try it even if the Elite aren’t on board.
  9. Lol, my wife thinks HDMI switchers are the worst invention ever. What happened is that, when I found out hdmi switchers were a thing, I installed them on all our tvs and now we have sooooo many more devices connected throughout the house. I have the Xbox, Switch, and PS5 connected to a tv in one room snd several retro consoles connected in another. The downside is that we have lots and lots of power cables everywhere and it bugs the heck out of her when she cleans. She’s a bit of a neat-nik.
  10. True. Vita is probably the better value if you have even mild interest in handheld gaming, PS TV can’t play Vita games that need the touch screen or motion controls. And Vita games didn’t play on PS TV by default. Sony had to add them to the “whitelist” before the cpu would render the game playable. Unfortunately, since PS TV bombed out of the gate, Sony added titles to the whitelist at a sluggish pace then just stopped supporting it at all, which means a lot of games that should be playable on PS TV are not compatible (you can download a hacked whitelist which lets you play virtually every Vita game in some fashion), I thought PS TV was nifty. I didn’t have any interest in playing handheld and I really only wanted a Vita to play a small amount of exclusives, I got my money out of it. Vita had a couple good Japanese RPGs which never made it to other consoles and generally made it to the US as budget titles with English subtitles and Japanese voice acting. Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines comes to mind. I’m also a big fan of Masayuki Furuya and his first two games, A Rose in the Twilight and Firefly Diaries, were Vita exclusives. I still play my PS TV from time to time. Muramasa: The Demon Blade is a favorite of mine and the remaster is still a Vita exclusive. The story dlc was also exclusive to the Vita release. And Persona 4 Golden was a full Vita exclusive from 2012-2020 and only became available for other consoles last month. I only bought 15-20 games for the PS TV but it’s still one of my favorite obscure retro consoles. I may be the Wii U’s number one fan, though, so take that for what it’s worth. I’ve never owned a handheld system. I probably would not have bought a Switch if it didn’t connect to my tv. Different strokes for different folks. I think maybe I would have bought a Vita if Gravity Rush hadn’t been remastered for PS4.
  11. Irwin filed a lawsuit against the woman and the Marriott hotel chain. He says he had no contact with the person - a hotel employee - beyond exchanging a few pleasantries in the lobby and shaking her hand. He also claims he has witnesses to back this up. I imagine there’s also security cam footage. He’s seeking $100 million. I’m kinda curious what the specific allegation is. No specifics have been made public and Irwin claims he has no idea what he could have done or said to set this in motion. According to him, the whole exchange lasted less than 45 secs.
  12. When I decided I wanted a Vita, I bought PlayStationTV instead. I was one of the few. (For anyone who does not remember this, it was a short-lived Vita spin-off that connects to a tv or monitor and plays most Vita games that don’t require the touch screen. It flopped almost immediately.)
  13. So? I’m mostly neutral on Durant, but I think he gets a bad rap. When he joined Golden State, fans and media started running with a narrative that Durant should have gone to a team where he’d be the centerpiece and the team would build around him, instead of adding him as a spare part on an already good team. Apparently, when you are that good, your legacy demands that you go build a title winner from scratch. The thing is, I have no idea if Durant has ever wanted to do that, or cared that much about his legacy. It’s his career, not mine, so he probably should make choices to suit himself, not me. He’s 34. If he can sell the owner and gm on the idea that they need him, why not go to a contender and get out of a bad situation? I do think you can blame Durant for the destruction of the Nets, He’s consistently backed Kyrie even when it looked fairly obvious that Kyrie was a distraction. I don’t think it would have been too much of an ask to expect him to assert some authority in the locker room. But that didn’t happen, so here we are. I hope someday I can find someone who supports me as wholeheartedly as KD backs Kyrie. I mean, I’d probably have to divorce my wife and marry a nicer person, but I can dream.
  14. Just read that Cocaine Bear was directed by Elizabeth Banks. If I had to name the director, she probably would not have been in my first 500 guesses. Just a really random bit of trivia.
  15. I played my first Switch in handheld mode for about 15 minutes the day I bought it and decided that was enough for me. Hasn’t been undocked since. I thought the Nintendo Direct was the best one in quite a while. Number of announcements related to first-person exclusives and the third-party titles mostly seem at home on the Switch. I feel like Nintendo’s been filling Directs with filler (12 mins on interviews about the new Smash character) and losing sight of the sort of games people buy Switch for (it’s probably not for an inferior port of that grimdark Resident Evil game that was popular on Xbox and PlayStation two years ago).
  16. Anthony Davis sat stone-faced on the bench last night when a LeBron broke the scoring record. Lol, Dude was maybe the only person in the arena who didn’t jump to his feet. On the one hand, I know nothing about how Davis feels about anything or what his relationship with LeBron is like, so I hate to jump to conclusions. Maybe he’s just low-key or intense. Lakers lost the game and trailed by double digits most of the night. On the other hand, he knows cameras are on him and he probably knows that sitting there while everyone else is celebrating is going to be noticed and become a story, so it was probably a deliberate choice not to react. if AD wasn’t on the trading block last night, he might be this morning. I’ve watched enough Game of Thrones to know that, when the king says dance, everyone in the court dances whether the music is playing or not.
  17. Honestly, I’d be thrilled if Nintendo just announced remasters. Toon Zelda, Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime, maybe GameCube-era Mario, Wario, DK games. Metroid Prime and Zelda remasters have been rumored so long and by so many (usually.) reliable sources, you’d think they’d be announced sooner or later. So, yeah, I expect to be disappointed today.
  18. Whatever happened to Jeff Hardy? My money is refused to go to rehab so TK won’t put him back on tv, but I haven’t heard anything about him since AEW suspended him,
  19. I thought the Cody-Heyman segment was easily the best thing on the show.
  20. I mostly enjoyed the flag football pro bowl. At worst, I don’t think flag football games and skills competitions are any less relevant than the not-a-serious-game they usually stage.
  21. The Lakers are going to win the trade when they sign Kyrie in the off-season. “Win” may not be the right word for putting Kyrie and Russ on the same roster. I think it will be very much a “your mileage may vary” situation.
  22. Lol, never thought I’d hear Richard Schiff described as that guy who was in that superhero movie and that video game. Wiki says he’s been in 60-70 films and probably has at least that many tv credits (he’s been a regular on at least six or seven series) but I automatically think of him as Toby Ziegler.
  23. At this point, I feel like the Nets best play is selling the team to Warner Bros. Discovery, who will promptly fold the team for the tax write-off. I feel for Durant, but he tried to abandon this shitshow in the offseason, so he can’t complain too much when others decide to do the same. I dunno If the economics of the trade make sense or if they could do-exist and win games, but Kyrie reuniting with Lebron would be greatly entertaining and draw eyeballs at least. At this point, it seems unlikely that the Lebron-Russ-AD triumvirate is going to produce titles.
  24. Ok, fraud is a little strong, I was irritable this morning, i still think it’s a classless money grab.
