  1. As far as who's the better wrestler I'd say it's razor close. Now who had the better year? That's easy, Generico. The Bullet Club sounds cool on paper but it hasn't worked for me. I just don't want constant interference in NJPW.
  2. I'm voting for Okada based on having 10 straight title matches that I thought were really good to off the charts great. Add in the G1, the 12-23 tag, not many people have the resume for last year that Okada has. Don't get me wrong Ambrose is great but he's 1/3, really 1/6 of most of his great matches. Really nothing he did as a singles guy was all that special.
  3. 3rd best guy in the Shield vs maybe the best guy from Japan. Don't fuck this up people.
  4. I don't know what you're talking about they just had a great match. Whoever thought of that finish with the brogue kick through the drum is a fucking genius. It looked brutal.
  5. I was more into the older black gentleman who kept snuggling up next to Bryan.
  6. One thing I might do is watch the episodes in chronological order. One of the biggest criticisms of the show was the way they aired the episodes, jumping around the clone wars timeline.
  7. Voted for Punk on purpose. Reasons have already been stated. Sheer volume overwhelms. It doesn't help that Brocks best match was vs Punk. It's hard to blame Brock for the HHH Wrestlemania match but it was not good. Punk had so many good 6mans, the Jericho match, the Undertaker match/miracle. Seriously did anyone expect Punk vs Taker to be THAT good?
  8. With Shibata the one thing I don't understand is his schedule. For years I wished he would come back now I wish he would work more shows. I think the time away might be part of his current mystique. I agree that Laughter 7 was a disappointment, they should have won the tag titles. He just brings a certain aura of danger to any match he's in. I notice the selling problems in Sekimoto from time to time but like most selling issues in Japan I just whisper to myself "fighting spirit, fighting spirit." I think how hard he works helps me look past spotty selling. I know what I'm getting into watching Strong BJ.
  9. Psssh the Zillo beast would destroy Godzilla. I haven't had time to get into season 6 of the Clone Wars yet. Pretty excited to binge watch them though.
  10. I get what Virus does well but top 5 I just can't fathom. I'd listen to a case for Casas and maybe even Rush but not Virus. I will agree this is a brutal draw. Based on my viewing homework I'd have voted Virus over 8 or 9 of the guys who have already advanced.
  11. To me "overrated guys who hit hard" reads like you think the hitting hard is a bad thing. Like people only like them because STIFF! I think both guys bring more to the table. Not that I'll agree but how are they overrated?
  12. I'd seen some Rush in NJPW prior to this tourny but watching more he's kind of a revalation for me. Both the Casas and Terrible fueds were incredible. Provided he wins Rush vs Goldust is going to be a now shockingly tough call. WWE should bring Rush in as Del Rio's party boy cousin who is always getting in trouble. Del Rio could use a tag run, something different. Virus does some nifty stuff but to call him a top 5 worker in the world is just silly to me.
  13. So Go Shiozaki sucks because his strikes are weak but these guys suck because they hit too hard? Your thoughts on puro guys confound me.
  14. This is a lot like the lucha battles as both of these guys had years that should get them out of round 1. This one is brutal. Sekimoto is a fucking horse working around 200 matches for over 10 promotions. Shibata, a top 3 favorite of mine, only had a fraction of that. I'm gonna need the day to mull this one over.
  15. Good to hear. It was an error-filled puff piece. They should have just blocked him.
  16. I love Go, I think he has the look of an ace but Harper is just a force of nature. I was aware of Brodie Lee as the big guy in Chikara but I hadn't seen that much of his Indy work. I haven't seen a guy come in who looks this prowrestling in a long time. That far off stare he has after he destroys someone. I can't wait to see what he's doing in 5 years. Luke Harper is final four bound in my world.
  17. I'm not sure anyone had a better year volume wise. He had a stack of big matches and delivered everytime. He should cruise to the elite 8 where he's gonna have a tough time. Okada vs Bryan will cause me to dork out with the research.
  18. I really can't believe we don't have 10 hardcore baseball peoples here. Someone step up.
  19. You're right that was a fantastic hour of reality TV. Really too much to even point out. Corey stepped up big time this episode, he had me cracking up. Jenny is crazy but she seems like a fun kind of crazy. Thats the type of girl you date for a few months then head for zee hills. I gotta say I'm with Jaime inserting herself into that shit relationship. That poor Jenna is like out of the Mad Men era or something, she just won't rock the boat. Phone numbers, that stupid Jay is going to be watching this in 10 years and hating himself.

    Justified

Did a google image search and you all are out your minds.
  21. Look man, I'm now a Virus and Rush super fan. Don't throw me to the curb because I don't dig this masked create a character. I'm with this guy. The few Titan matches I watched he didn't impress nearly as much as the other luchadores in this tourny. Casas vs Rush and LA Park vs Wagner were matches I'm glad I took the time to watch.
  22. It must be the dramatic range he showed this year. He's like a young Meryl Streep.
  23. Round One (3/15): - Togi Makabe vs. Bad Luck Fale - Togi - Teysuya Naito vs. Tomohiro Ishii - Naito - Katsuyori Shibata vs. Karl Anderson - Shibata - Yujiro Takahashi vs. Shelton Benjamin - Shelton - Hirooki Goto vs. Doc Gallows - Goto - Toru Yano vs. Minoru Suzuki - MinSu - Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Davey Boy Smith - Nakamura - Prince Devitt vs. Lance Archer - Devitt Quarterfinals (3/22): - Makabe vs, Naito - Naito - Shibata vs. Benjamin - Shibata - Goto vs. Suzuki - Goto - Nakamura vs. Devitt - Devitt Semifinals (3/23): - Naito vs. Shibata - Shibata - Goto vs. Devitt - Goto Final (3/23): Shibata over Goto - Yeah this one is a no brainer. I'd be shocked if we don't see Okada vs. Shibata at Invasion Attack. Title change? Tie-Breakers: First Tie-Breaker - Who will win this match for the Dragon Gate Open The Twin Gate Championship on 3/16: Shingo Takagi and Akira Tozawa vs. Naruki Doi and BxB Hulk - No idea. Tozawa over Hulk. Second Tie-Breaker (if still tied) - In the previous tie-breaker, who will get the pinfall and who will get pinned (.5 points for each) Again Tozawa over Hulk Third Tie-Breaker (if still tied) - What will be the official match time for the Triple Crown match of Akebono vs. Miyahara in All Japan on 3/18? Miyahara over Akebono in 1:48 with his brand new, not over armbar!!!!!
